The song is the theme song for the book.
I stretched as I opened my sky blue eyes. I looked around at the sight that had grown so familiar to me. The white, sterile, hospital room. With crimson chairs that weren't the slightest bit comfortable to sleep in. Trust me I would know. The never ending beeping coming from the heart monitor hooked up to my mom who still lay unmoving on the hospital bed.
She'd been there for three months now and i'm not sure how much longer I could keep her there.
Mom's been battling cancer for three years now. On and off. Three months ago she fell into a comma. The doctor said it was because her cancer got into the bone marrow and she could no longer produce enough healthy blood cells on its own.
So here she is. Hooked up to life support and unresponsive.
Deciding to stop dwelling on it I pulled out my phone to look at the messages I knew would be there.
Delirious-2

Oh your probably at the hospital.
I smiled to myself at Ohm's text. He was the only one who knew about my mother and I didn't choose to tell him. More of he forced me.
It was a little under a year ago. Evan, Jon, him, and I where playing prophunt when he asked me if I was doing alright. It was one of my off days but I was determined to keep it from showing so of course I assured him I was fine. He didn't buy it though.
After we had finished playing Ohm asked me to stay for a moment so he could talk to me. Almost as soon as the guys had left he turned on his face camera and I remember I sat for a good two minutes starring at him and when I finally did speak it was just a stuttered out "y-y-your face." To which he laughed and said "yeah my face."
He had stunning hazel eyes. With short brown hair that was swept to the side and side burns that crept down into a beard that was mostly just stubble. Full lips, rounded nose, and square jaw. Quite the breath taker especially if you weren't expecting his face to appear.
After I had gotten over his looks he'd genteelly had me explain the whole situation to him. It took a lot of preceding and it was about a hour before I finally told him. After, he told me that if I ever need to he's there for me. I nodded my head and pretended I'd listen to him but I knew it was a lie. Low and behold, next time I had a off day Ohm noticed and gave me a strict speech about how I can trust him and that he's here for me and he means it.
Since then it's just become habit to talk to him about everything and he does the same with me. We're almost constantly texting and if we aren't we're in a Skype or phone call together. It's no surprise that, with all the time we spend talking to each other, he knows my whole schedule. From the minute I wake up to the minute I fall asleep.
B- Yeah i'm up now though. Call?
O- Of course.
And then my phone was buzzing in my hand. I swiped it to answer and lifted my phone to my ear. "So how was the chair? Any more comfortable then last time?" Ohm greeted. "Hmmm 2/10 would not sleep in again." I joked back. "If I remember correctly last time you said it was a 3/10. How could it possibly get worse?" "The back pain that how. Buy me a memory foam mattress." "No can do brycie, that YouTube money isn't all it's cracked up to be."
"Morning Bryce!" The nurse, Pamela, greeted as she entered to do her morning check up on Mom. "Morning Pam." I said cheerfully. "Tell her I said morning." "Ohm says morning too." I relayed the message. "I should have known that who you where on the phone with. Good morning Ohm." She raised her voice so he could hear her.
"So are you gonna head home soon? The guys are really itching to get to playing and I've been keeping them at bay the best I can." Ohm explained. "Yeah, I'll head out after her morning check up is done." I responded as I watched Pam do the basics. Check pulse, switch out saline and blood bags, and check for any signs of movement.
"Good news Bryce! It looks likes she's doing better. Maybe just a few more weeks." Pamela cheered. I knew the nurse so well by now she might as well be a sister. She's better than the one I have anyway. "Alright well i'm heading out then. See you tomorrow." "See you."
"I'm glade she's doing better." Ohm said from the phone. "Yeah, it's really lonely around the house with just me." "You and your fifty million cats." "It's just six!" I defended as I nodded to a nurse and stepped into the elevator. "I have no idea how you handle so many at once. I only have Buddy and he's a handful." "That's because he's a dog. Cats are hard but no where near as hard as a dog." I rolled my eyes. "But there worth it. More of a body to hug." "Not when you have six cats." I stepped out of the elevator and waved to the receptionist. "Touché. Well I'll get off so you can focus on driving. Talk to you when you get home after your shower." I was about to ask how he knew I was going to shower but I remembered that he can pretty much predict my next move. "Alright see you then." "See you Brycie."
