Just in Case

He gasped out and sat up quickly, staring at the purple blanket over his legs.

What...

He blinked and rubbed the back of his neck.

What happened?

"Grian!" He glanced up to find Zedaph in rushing towards him. He sat down on the bed Grian was on and frowned at him.

"Are you alright?" He asked out and hugged the blonde. He rested his hands on Grian's shoulders and leaned back, frowning at him. "You passed out in desert, I'm so sorry! I thought you could handle it since you live in a jungle now but I—"

"Hey! Hey!" Grian grabbed Zedaph's shoulders and smiled at him worriedly. "It's okay! I don't really remember making it to the desert though."

"Oh dear... maybe I should call Joe..." Zedaph mumbled and turned towards the ground next to the bed. Grian chuckled and did a dismissive wave. "Nah, it's fine. I always have memory issues so it's probably that."

Zedaph quickly glanced up to Grian. He smiled nervously at him. "Are you sure? Your memory issues are very concerning..."

Grian chuckled and smiled at him. "Yeah, don't worry." He glanced around the cave. "So... is the tour still on?"

Zedaph smiled at him worriedly. "If you're okay, of course. I don't want you hurt." Grian grinned at him. "I appreciate the thought, but I'm perfectly fine."

Zedaph stood up and hand Grian his hand. "So, should we begin?"

The dirty blonde smiled and accepted the offer.

"Aannnddddddd that's all!" Zedaph cried out, throwing his arms out. Grian leaned back slightly to avoid being hit. "Now, should I call for a hermit? That zombie ambush looks like it should've done more damage to you..." He immediately turned back to Grian, frowning at him slightly.

The taller blonde rolled his eyes. "I'm fine, Zedaph! They barely did a damp!" Grian laughed and tapped his arm to prove his point. Zedaph smiled nervously at him, if Grian didn't know Zedaph as much as he did, he would've say that he was restraining himself.

"Are you sure? I saw some bite you!"

"Really?" Grian asked, tilting his head at the shorter hermit. "I felt literally nothing!"

"Should that concerning?"

Grian shrugged.

"Well– just in case!" Zedaph yelped out. He ran off towards the far left side of the cave. "You should still drink some healing potion! In case you are hurt."

Grian followed him, his hands in his jeans pockets. He stopped behind Zedaph. He glanced around the little corner of the cave, it looked off compared to everything else in the cave and anything Zedaph has created.

Chests with white and light grey dye messily splattered around it. Smooth stone as a table and a thinner, smaller slab on it. An odd circular object on it, reminding him of a snowball, but with less dimension and a light grey. A dark grey shulker box next to the chest, which was where Zedaph was getting the potion from.

Grian stared at the circular object and stepped towards it. He picked it up and stared at it blankly, it felt... familiar but he knows he has never seen it before.

He flipped the object around, and found two 'L's and two, square dots at the end of the 'L's. He narrowed his eyes and flipped it back, a button remains in the middle of the object.

"Grian! Stay away from that– Wait- No-! Don't you dare press that button!" A familiar but not so familiar voice cried out.

Grian wasn't stupid, believe it or not. He actually has some brain cells. He knew pressing unknown, unfamiliar buttons are very dangerous, he only press buttons impulsively if it was Mumbo that owns it.

However, after the voice cried out in his head, he immediately pressed the button.

Regret quickly filled him and he dropped the object and it bounced. He jumped back and let out an odd cry. "Grian–? What's—?" A silence rang out briefly. "GRIAN! ITHOUGHTYOU—"

"IDON'TKNOWWHYIPRESSEDTHEBUTTONEITHEROKAY!"

A red figure appeared in front of him. The figure was taller than both men, about Mumbo's shoulder. They wore goggles that put up their hair, sleeves jacket, a wore down shirt with rolled sleeves and a pair of boots. They were covered in a substance of some kind.

They're see through, and slightly glowing red.

"Ow! Ex, I told you to be more careful—!" The same voice that echoed in Grian's head earlier cried out, they interrupted themselves and glanced up to spot Grian. Ruby red eyes widened at the sight of him.

Grian narrowed his eyes at them.

He opened his mouth but no word came up, no matter how hard he was trying to. Nothing came into his mind, he was just staring blankly at the hologram in front of him.

He wanted to say so much, but no words came to mind, he didn't even know what he wanted to say.

"I'm sorry." A croaked voice spoke weakly, apologizing with sadness deeply in it.

They smiled at him sadly, their chest slowly rising and falling even though it wasn't necessary. They blinked multiple times and glitches out slightly. Someone ducked from the shadows and picked up the circular object. The hologram glitches and disappeared.

Blue eyes were all Grian caught of the person before his eyes started to hurt. He narrowed his eyes and grabbed a fistful of his hair. He heard static slowly come into existence, and his vision darkened.
