31. The shower and the shock

"You know, it has already been about seven months. Shouldn't we be planning her baby shower by now?", San asks Jin, the male sipping his coffee as they talk.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. I was kind of just hoping that Jungkook would be back by now. It's been months.", Jin says, the female looking at her friend with sad eyes.

"You know what? Let's just do it! Give Songie the best baby shower any expecting mother has ever had. She needs the cheer up to be completely honest. I just want my best friend to laugh again.", San says, thinking about how Song laughing has become a rare occurrence, and even then, it isn't the way she used to laugh.

"I agree, we need to make her feel better. Do you think she'd want a big party though?", Jin asks, San thinking about the question.

"Well, yeah. I think she needs to be surrounded with those who love her. She rarely speaks to anyone that isn't living with her anymore. I need to text her every day just to make sure she hasn't forgotten about me.", San says, trying to make a joke but failing.

"Yeah, I only see her during our lessons and when I go to visit her at the house. She doesn't talk much though.", Jin says.

"Have you heard anything from Jungkook yet?", San asks, Jin shaking his head, sad and confused about how distant Jungkook has become.

"I'm sure he'll talk to you again soon, Jinnie.", San says, taking Jin's hand comfortingly.

"I know, it just kills me to not know how he's doing. I want to talk to him so badly but he ignores all my calls and texts.", Jin says, San looking at her friend.

"Has Yoongi heard anything? Do you know if Song had heard anything from him?", Jin asks.

"No, Yoongi and the others are just as lost as you are. As for Song, I try not to bring him up that often, whenever I do, she shuts down, and she won't speak much after that, so I try to avoid it as much as possible. Bam Bam tells me that she cries herself to sleep every night without fail. I can see it has taken a toll on him and her dad.", San says.

"I think we should have the party. Maybe it will cheer her up? How about the third Saturday of this month. It gives us about three weeks to plan, which I think will be more than enough time.", Jin says, San nodding, the both of them starting to discuss the details.

~~~
The cars make loud noises as Song wanders around the city.
She can't stay at home anymore.
The walls are suffocating her.
She sees a small cafè on her path and decides to go in to rest.
She is almost seven months pregnant now, in about two and a half weeks.
Her stomach has grown so much over the last few months, so she needs to take frequent breaks in order to not over-exert herself.
She orders a decaf coffee and a slice of death by chocolate cake, deciding to scroll through her phone as she waits for the barista to return.
She goes through her camera roll, seeing the tonnes of photos of her and Jungkook, on their dates and in general.
She feels tears staring to form as she looks over the fond memories, remembering every one in vivid detail.
It has become surprising how she could still cry after this much time.
She takes a tissue and wipes her nose, seeing the barista heading over to her table in her peripheral vision.
She thanks the girl for her order, the woman leaving quickly after setting down the plate and cup in front of Song.
She looks at the cake, the fond memories of her feeding this very dessert to Jungkook, as he had disclosed to her that this was his favourite cake in the whole entire world, flooding her brain.
She takes a bite and a small smile spreads on her face and the sweetness tickles her tastebuds.
She exits from her camera roll and heads on to social media.
She has done this every day for about two months now.
Every day, she heads over to Jungkook's private accounts and looks through his old posts, pictures of them on their first date and all the cute videos he had sneakily taken of her.
She sees that he has still not posted anything new.
Not since their fight.
And neither has she.
Not that she was a dedicated poster to begin with.
She turns off her phone and puts it face down on the table, continuing to enjoy her coffee and dessert.
As she eats her dessert in through, she sees someone sit down in front of her.
A guy.
"Hi there, hot stuff, what are you doing here sitting all by your lonesome?", the middle-aged man askes her, Song looking at him with both confusion and disgust.
"Can I help you, sir?", Song asks politely, trying not to offend the man, even though she wants to puke at the sight of the perverted look on his face.
"Aren't you a polite little thing. Well, let me rather ask you if you want to play, babygirl. Do you want a daddy to keep you company?", The man asks Song, the girl almost throwing up out of digust right there and then.
"No, thank you, I'm alright. Bye.", Song says, looking away from the man, hoping that this rejection would be good enough.
"You can't deny me, baby, I can make you feel things you've never felt before and I know you want it, I can see it in that pretty little face of yours.", The man says, the arm he had on the table slowly sliding down before resting on his lap, Song knowing that there is a real possibility that he might be touching himself.
This man is everything wrong with humanity.
How dare he do that to someone he has never met in his life?
Song gulps, trying her best not to cry and vomit at the same time.
"Alright then, may I have the name of my new...uhg...daddy?", Song says, the words burning like acid on her tongue.
The man looks at her for a few moments before smiling at her, his yellow teeth and acne covered face making Song very uncomfortable.
"Liu Leon, pleased to meet you, baby. You ready for me to rock your world?", He asks, looking at her with the creepiest look she has ever seen.
"Uh, s-sure, let me just pay for my cake.", Song says, starting to wiggle herself out of the seat.
His face changes drastically when he sees her baby bump, Song seeing him starting to sweat, but she ignores it.
She walks across the room quickly, towards the barista that served her her coffee, the girls seeing her approaching the counter.
"Please help me, that man is trying to get me to leave with him, and I don't know him or feel safe. Please call the police.", Song says, the girl looking over to the creepy guy, seeing him look over to them, a psychotic look on his face.
"Of course, are you alright, miss? He didn't try to hurt you or anything, did he?", The girl asks, Song shaking her head but telling her that her touched himself while talking to her, which made her very uncomfortable and stressed.
The girl picks up the phone, dialing the number of the police, Song smiling at the man while waving, not wanting him to catch on to them.
He dumbly waves back, the light of the ceiling lights reflecting off his bald head.
"There is an officer on his way, please stay here miss, and try to keep him here as well.", The girl says, Song nodding, handing her some money to pretend that she's paying for her order when infact she had already payed.
She tells the girl that she will be right back before heading to the booth, the man still waiting for her.
"Sorry, it took a bit longer than expected, do you mind if I quickly head to the bathroom? I won't be long.", Song says, turning towards the bathroom before he could say a thing, making eye contact with the barista as she enters the restroom.
She takes out her phone and quickly searches the man's name, a whole list of crimes appearing, most of the heinous crimes having to do with the rape and assult of young women.
She feels the bile pushing up her throat and quickly runs to the toilet, vomiting into it.
After she's done, she wipes her mouth and rinses it, to get rid of the taste.
She takes a look at herself in the mirror, seeing her pale face and frightened expression.
She splashes her face with water and heads out, seeing the man still waiting for her, nervously looking at his watch the entire time.
She walks over to him and he gets up, his arm snaking around her waist as he tries to forcibly push her out of the cafè.
Song feels the tears starting to come out of the eyes as they approach the door.
Just as she's about to be pushed through the door, the police officer comes around the corner, the man seeing the officer, Song running out of his arms towards the officer, yelling that he should catch the creepy man.
"You fucking bitch!", The man screams as he gets tackled by the police officer, the officer handcuffing him, seeing a knife in the man's back pocket.
The officer immediately calls for back up and soon enough, the man is in police custody.
The police had told Song to wait in the cafè while they send the man away to the station.
After about fifteen minutes, the officer who helped her, comes into the cafè, walking over to her.
"Thank you so much for alerting the authorities, miss. This man is a dangerous criminal. There is no knowing what he would have done to you if you had left with him. Are you alright?", The officer asks, Song nodding, the guy smiling at her.
This smile however, is nothing like that of the creepy man.
This is different.
This makes her feel at ease. Safe.
"I am now, thank you very much, Officer...", Song asks, extending her hand for shaking.
"Officer Park, but you may call me Jinyoung. I'm really glad you are okay. Is there anyone I can call to come and get you?", Jinyoung asks, Song shaking her head, telling him that she would be fine on her own.
"I can't let you walk home all by yourself. If that would be alright with you, may I take you home?", Jinyoung asks, Song contemplating the decision before agreeing.
On the way back they talk about normal day to day small talk until Jinyoung stops talking.
"Uh, I really hope you don't mind me asking but, are you single? As you are pregnant, I do not want to get hurt one night by the father.", Jinyoung says, laughing.
"Um, yeah, I guess. I'm not seeing anyone, and as for their father...He's not really in the picture anymore. He moved to America a few months ago and I'm not sure if he's ever going to come back.", Song says, not at all knowing why she's telling this to someone she has only met this day.
There's something about him though.
A calmness.
It makes her feel so different from how she has felt the past few months.
Comfortable.
Soon enough though, they approach the gate of the mansion, Song getting out there, knowing that it was dangerous to let strangers into her house.
"Here, take this. If you ever need me for anything again, even if it is only to talk, give me a call.", Jinyoung says, holding a number out to her, Song taking the piece of paper before heading past the security gate, into the house.
She waves goodbye as Jinyoung drives off, and as his car disappears into the horizon, she looks at the piece of paper in her hands and thinks to herself about what she might be getting herself into.
