3. The talk

It's been two weeks since the incident between Jungkook and Song, and it's all that's been on Jungkook's mind. He couldn't take it anymore and decided to do something about it.
That's why he's currently in a cafè, talking to one of his best friends and one of his most trusted hyungs, Mark.

"Hyung I don't know what to do about this.", Jungkook rants to the only person he knew who might have some knowledge about how he feels.

"Kook, I don't know what to tell you. Yes, we met them the same way but they're as different as night and day.", Mark says.

"But you and Jackson hyung are so good together, how did you manage to do that? How did you know that you wanted to be with him?", Jungkook asks his older friend.

"It's all about how you feel. You'll know if you want to be with that person, just like I knew that I wanted to be with Jackson. All I can tell you is, to follow your instincts. It's there for a reason, use it. You'll be fine.", Mark says as a final encouragement to his dongsaeng.

"I'll try. Thanks, hyung.", Jungkook says as he smiles his bunny smile at his hyung.
"So, this girl has got to be something special for you to be this riled up about her. Who's she?", Mark asks, loving the gossip.

"Well, her name's Song and we met at the club the hyungs and I go to often. She was there with her friends. She's really pretty and smart and fun and silly, she's great and everything I want in a girl. Also, I'm pretty sure Yoongi hyung and her best friend have something going on.", Jungkook says, chuckling at his childish hyung who was busy trying to sip his iced coffee without his hands.

"Well, she sounds great Kook. When do I get to meet her?", Mark asks, Jungkook's eyes going big.
"Hyung!? Not yet! Aish, why does it feel like you're my mom, asking me when she's gonna meet my girlfriend?", Jungkook whines, Mark giggling at the blushing boy.

"Don't be shy Jungkook-ah, I need to meet this miracle girl. She changed our national playboy into a committed man.", Mark says with a chuckle as Jungkook pouts.

"One, it's international playboy and two, I'm not even sure she likes me back!! I'm not gonna jump into anything until I know she's into me too.", Jungkook says, determined.

"So, how are you gonna do that? Are you gonna text her first?", Mark asks playing with the straw in his drink.
"Honestly, I'm not sure. What did you do with Jackson hyung? How did you get him to notice you?", Jungkook asks.

"Believe me, it was hard as fuck. You knew me before I met him. I was just like you, a total playboy, no one could stop me from having a different person in my bed each night. But it all changed when I met him. I didn't feel like being with anyone else other than him. When he found out about my playboy status though, it all went downhill. He didn't trust me anymore and I had a really hard time trying to convince him that, that wasn't me anymore. Luckily for me, he started to trust me again and well, the rest is history.", Mark says, sitting back, a look of nostalgia etched upon his face.

"You're lucky hyung. You found someone who accepted you even though you did bad things. I don't even think a girl like that exists. All of them have something they judge you on. Be it how much money you have or how you look, or how good you are in bed. They're all the same.", Jungkook says bitterly.

Mark cocks his brow in worry.
"Look Kook, I know that stuff happened in your past that led you to do things and be things you're not. But remember, everyone is not like she is. There are truly great girls out there, you just have to look and the way you talk about this Song girl, it seems like you like her. Then you know that she's not a bad person.", Mark tries to comfort the sad Kookie.

"But what if I don't see the signs again. Like I did with her. What if I make the same mistakes again. I don't want to get hurt again, hyung.", Jungkook says, his depressed side making an appearance. An appearance it hasn't made in a very, very long time.

"Hey, hey Kook don't do that to yourself, you'll see everything that you need to this time. Because this time, you know what to look out for and you can always ask me to ask Jackson to run a quick background check on the chick if it bothers you that much.", Mark says with a goofy smile, that made Jungkook smile.

"Thanks, hyung. Thanks for making me feel better.", Jungkook says, getting up and giving Mark a big brotherly hug.

"Sure thing Kookie-ah. Oh my gosh, look at the time! I forgot I have to meet Jackson at the movies for a date.
You don't want to come with me, do you? I'm sure Jackson wouldn't mind it.", Mark offers but Jungkook shakes his head.

"Nah hyung, you already did enough for me, I don't want to ruin your date with Jackson hyung. Go on, I'll be fine and say hi to him for me please and ask him when are we gonna have an overwatch rematch. He surely wants to try to beat me again.", Jungkook says with a chuckle, remembering his and Jackson's last overwatch match.

Jackson had suffered a crushing defeat and had vowed that he would take the title of overwatch king from Jungkook one day, even if they played forever.

Mark just laughs and nods, walking over to the door and waving to Jungkook before walking out the door.

Jungkook sits in his seat once again, thinking about what Mark had said to him.

A background check.
Would that put his mind to rest if he knew what he was getting into?
No.
That wouldn't be right to violate Song's privacy like that.
But...maybe for safety purposes?

'NO JUNGKOOK!! THAT'S NOT RIGHT!',
He sighs as he battles himself.
What if he did ask for the background check and later on decide if he wanted to read it?

That wouldn't be too bad right?
That way, if he has some doubts, he could just take a quick peek at her past.

Plus, having the advantage of a policeman as a hyung could be of purpose to him.

Ugh, why did he have to have severe trust issues?
It's only because of her.
The woman who destroyed his life.
His very first love.
Could she even qualify as love after what she had done to him?

It's no secret that he truly did love her.
It was she who couldn't do the same.
She used him, destroyed him from the inside and then on the outside.
She made him someone he isn't.
She ruined him.
Forever.

He sighs for the hundredth time that day and rests his aching head against the cool metal of the table.
If only there was something that he could put against his aching heart...

~~~~~~
Song waited for San to make her very much anticipated appearance.
Since they haven't had the time to talk since the day Song had slept with Jungkook, they decided to have their sleepover at a time when they were both not in the slightest bit busy.
And luckily, it was today.
After a few more minutes of waiting, Song heard a knock at the door and went to get it.
There she was, San, the world's best, best friend, standing in the doorway of Song's house, her long arms taken over by plastic bags filled with various snacks, tissues (for safety) and her bag of belongings she would need for their sleepover, even though they would most probably stay up in their pyjamas for a very long time.
"Um, a little help would be appreciated.", San says sassily, snapping Song out of her daze.
(A/N: oh my word so many "s" words😂)
"Ah, sorry, let me help you.", Song says quickly, taking some of the bags from San.
She helps San carry the bags into the fairly large kitchen, the two girls placing the ice cream in the freezer and putting the snacks in different bowls, placing them all on the coffee table in Song's living room.
They sit down on the big couch and start to talk.
"So, how have you been, it's been a while since we've had one of these.", San says with a giggle, tying her hair into a messy bun, and adjusting her oversized t-shirt as she makes herself comfortable on the couch.
"Well, exams are finally over and I'm waiting for the final results of my finals and when I pass, I'll be finished with six years of university!! I'm happy that's finally over, now I can relax.", Song says as she sinks into the couch.
"Lucky, I have like one more practical paper left. No big deal though. Just some basic scalpel holding, cutting hearts open, you know, normal stuff.", San says with a glint in her eyes.
"Sometimes I think you're just studying to be a doctor for the cutting-open-of-things part.", Song says, chuckling at how her friend looks like a murderous maniac.
"Well, maybe, maybe not.", San laughs.
"So, tell me. I want details and I want them now!!", San suddenly bursts out in excitement.
"Tell you the details about what?", Song asks, knowing that San was asking about the details of her and Jungkook's night of um...loving?
San raises her brow in a duh-manner, glaring at her best friend until Song cracks under San's intense gaze.
"Ugh! Fine! Jungkook and I got drunk and we ended up sleeping together, when I woke up the morning after though I didn't recognise him and I don't think he recognised me either.
He then wanted another go but I turned him down saying I'm not some slut that sleeps around and then I left.
When I came home, I realised my phone was dead, so I charged it and then I called you. That's about it.", Songs says, out of breath.
"Well, that was so anti-climatic. And vague, I want details Song!! Was he any good? How does he look without clothes? Is he, you know, a magical specimen, if you know what I mean?", San says, bombarding poor Song with questions, making the poor girl uncomfortable.
"W-well, he's not bad looking at all, and um, his uh, money maker is...is-San!!! I don't want to relive it!! And I can't even remember how he was since I couldn't remember who he was but since then I've been getting flashbacks and, ugh, I feel so dirty. ", Song says, covering her cherry-red face behind her hands, making San laugh at her discomfort.
"Why does this make you so uncomfortable? It's just sex. Why does it have to be a big deal if you are safe and responsible?", San asks no one in particular.
"Well, you have confidence I don't have. You don't care about what others think, you know you're worthy. I care too much about what people think of me.", Song says, sad.
"Song no, you are worthy of any guy out there that you want. You're beautiful and smart and sexy and any guy's dream girl.
And I know I might not always show it because of my swaggy nature but I do believe in you. And you should believe in yourself as well.", San says, hugging the life out of her bestie.
Song giggles.
"Thanks, I needed that. But enough about me, how's your and Yoongi's relationship going?", Song asks, wanting to know very badly how her friend's love life's going.
"Well, things are going good, I think. We have been on a few dates but he hasn't officially asked me to be his girlfriend. I'm worried that he might not like me enough for that.", Sandra says, stuffing her face with gummy bears.
"I apologize for my french but that's bull shit! He's so into you it's not even funny. He follows you around like a puppy dog and does everything you ask him, I'm sure it's just a matter of time before he asks you.", Song says, taking the jelly beans and putting one in her mouth.
"When did love get so complicated?", San asks, stuffing more gummy bears in her mouth.
"Honestly, I don't know. When we were younger, it was all so simple. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy. Boy asks girl on a date and girl says yes. And bing bada boom their dating!!", Song says, placing the jelly beans on the coffee table once again.
"Hm. True. Let's get our PJs on, rom-com movie marathon here we come!", San shouts, standing up and walking over to her bag.
"I'm gonna quickly use the bathroom, pick a few movies after you're done changing.", San says, quickly making her way to the bathroom.
Song also makes her way to her room and puts on her PJs, tying her long hair into a very messy bun, similar to Sandra's.
As she makes her way downstairs she hears Sandra calling her.
"Hey Song, do you maybe have a tampon or pad I can use?", Sandra asks, Song quickly fetching her a pad.
"Sorry this is all I have now, we can go shopping tomorrow. ", Song says to which San nods, taking the pad.
"Did your period already come? Mine hasn't. It's strange, usually, our times match up.", Song says, scratching her head.
"Maybe you're just a day or two late, don't worry.", San says as she closes the bathroom door again.
'Maybe she's right. I'm probably just a day or two late.', Song thinks to herself as she goes downstairs and puts on the movie The fault in our stars.
Soon enough, Sandra joins Song and they watch a whole bunch of romantic movies, some sad, some funny.
After their fourth movie though, Sandra whines.
"I'm done with romantic movies for now. Let's do something else.", She suggests.
"Me too, I love a good rom-com but this is getting too much. What do you suggest we do?", Song asks interested, knowing Sandra always came up with great ideas of what to do when they're bored.
"Let's get the boys over here.", San says, devils, dancing around in her eyes.
"Should I call the girls too?", Song asks but Sandra shakes her head.
"I don't think so. Most of them are probably already asleep by now since it's already like 10 pm. And I doubt they will want to come over now.", Sandra says.
"But what makes you think the boys will come over then?", Song asks confused.
"Oh, believe me, they will.", Sandra says with a smirk, already taking out her phone to invite Yoongi and the other boys over to Song's house.
