"Furlan" Levi called out from his office sofa as he spotted his friend walking past the doorway, hands free from whatever he'd just taken outside moments before. 

"Yeah?" Furlan asked as he took a few steps back and stopped in the doorway with a raised eyebrow. Staring towards the master of the household and Mikasa who was leaning up against his side with her head resting against his shoulder. Both wide awake and the business paperwork left on his desk a few meters away. 

"We won't be having any guests this week" Levi warned without a second thought as he wasn't one to invite guests inside anyway and he'd normally send unwelcome ones away as well. But for now, his home will surely stay untouched by other's. 

"We rarely have guests as it is" Furlan snorted back rather amused as such an order won't change much around them. 

"But this week we won't be allowing anyone to enter, understood?" Levi replied without any room to argue, a glint in his eyes that the other man understood as the alpha often held such a glint around this time of the month anyway. 

"Yeah, I know. You need anything Mikasa?" Furlan sighed with a small nod before moving his attention to the omega and asking his question with a concerned smile. 

"No thank you, I've got everything ready already" Mikasa answered with a faint twitch of her lips that showed close to a smile as she looked back towards the beta. Knowing he meant well and was simply looking out for her before they ran out of time. 

"Just call for Isabel or myself if you do end up needing anything. We'll leave it outside the door for you along with your meals" Furlan smiled back kindly, and he was always cool headed around her when this time came around and didn't panic like some do. He didn't get overprotective either and simply left her be until she called for something. 

"I'll try to keep that in mind, but everything is already in my nest that I'd need" Mikasa reassured with a small nod as she sat herself up a little more to show she was still okay and could handle anything she needed for now. 

"Understood" Furlan smiled back, giving her an comforting nod with his reply. 

"You can return to your chores and send Armin in our direction if you see him at all" Levi spoke up with a small wave of his hand to dismiss his servant and friend, knowing if he didn't send him away now he'd stay hovering for as long as possible and forget over his chores. 

"Got it" Furlan grinned back and walked away to finish up his own work for the day. 

"You don't have to do that" Mikasa sighed as she closed her eyes, knowing she'd be safe locked in our room and didn't need him closing down the whole manor for her heat. Many others still invite guests or do work business in their homes even while an Omega might be in heat. It's stranger to close down the home during a heat nowadays. 

"It's my job to make you feel safe during your heat. I won't allow your nest to be disturbed or allow you to feel afraid over a stranger's scent nearby. This is our home now, not just mine. I won't lock you away like some misbehaving dog just because you're in heat and I won't risk anyone trying any funny business either" Levi argued back with a small frown on his lips as he took great pride in his job as Alpha during her heat and he wasn't going to let her feel threatened by some guest who's scent she wasn't comfortable around. He also knew that some business partners would get "lost" around the manor after catching her scent, he's seen how a handful of them look at her when she's at the company with him. 

"I'd prefer you to simply admit that you're using my heat just to get out of having others in our home. We all know you dislike dealing with people" Mikasa smirked back as she rested her head back against his shoulder, sloughing her body down more as she leaned against him and made herself as small as possible in hopes to just melt into his side better. 

"That's just an added bonus that comes with the honour of protecting and caring for you during your heat" Levi confessed with an amused smirk as he automatically lifted his arm before gently curling around her body. Keeping the hold tight but lost to make sure she didn't feel trapped and left to be comfortable instead. 

"You really don't mind bringing my meals to my nest? I'm sure I'll be able to have Isabel or Furlan start bringing them inside my room after all these years of learning to trust them and having them as my friends" Mikasa muttered back with a worried frown as she stared at his kneecap and thought about seeing if Furlan or Isabel would mind bringing her meals to her nest like Levi does just to give the Alpha some space. She felt bad for him taking time off from the company and working by home instead just to care for her. 

"I don't mind at all. I'll do whatever makes you feel happier and safer. Would you prefer a Beta to bring your meals inside instead of me?" Levi honestly answered before turning a bit worried as he asked his question and hoping he wasn't becoming too much for her. 

"I trust you, Levi. I don't care that they're beta's and you're an Alpha. I won't even have you near my nest if I didn't trust you while I was vulnerable. You were the first person I did learn to trust while in our home. I just don't' want to always burden you with bringing my meals. I know I could trust the others to bring them to my actual nest if I asked. You don't have to be trapped in the manor with me" Mikasa calmly explained her thoughts to him as she knew things were different in the past but they've both grown since, and she didn't want to keep him weighed down to her. She gained friendship with Furlan and Isabel too, both would be happy to help her if she called for them. 

"I don't feel trapped. I never had when it comes to your heats. I simply want to be there for you as you've always been there for me outside of your heats. At first, I was just curious over an omega's nest. I never grew up with one and I might not have been the best Alpha during your early heats in our home but that's because I didn't know how to care for you. I didn't understand why you weren't collecting your meals from your door or why you stayed in that pile of blankets that were clearly over heating you. I acted rashly and gave you reasons to feel attacked. But you taught me how to help you and trusted me to keep you safe, warm and alive. You trusted me with your pup during those six days and I proved I wasn't a threat. I don't see anything involving your heat as a burden, I haven't in a long time" Levi huffed back with slight annoyance as they've discussed this plenty of times in the past and he knew he wasn't the best trusted alpha when she first moved in, but he's proven himself and worked hard to learn how to care for her in the way that helps her best. 

"What if I wanted to bring an alpha or beta home with me to help with my heat in other means?" Mikasa quietly asked, a little curious over his reaction if she suddenly did get interested in the sexual side to a heat. She knew most omegas beg for breeding and cry to be filled with pups by their alpha but she had simply only ever gotten cuddly during her own heats. She knew omegas reacted different in heat just as any female beta periods could be different. Most would have the same symptoms or reactions, but a few would be a little different from the normal. 

"We both know that isn't happening. Most omega's might hold an urge to breed during their heat but you're just a cuddle monster that wants physical affection from someone they trust. But if a day came when you wanted to try that side of bringing release to your heat than I'll help you find someone worthy enough to help you in such ways. I'd make sure they're safe and would treat you like gold not bronze" Levi tiredly replied as he knew what she was trying to do and he wasn't going to give her any reaction that'd gain her teasing him later on. He understood that some omegas might need a sexual partner, but she wasn't like that and if she did, he'd find one she'd feel safe and comfortable with. She wasn't a toy for anyone to roughly use and throw away at the end of the heat. She was a part of his pack and he'd protect her as much as he could. 

"You're as much as a strange alpha as I am an omega" Mikasa commented warmly, no harsh meaning meant, and it was spoken more fondly. 

"I feel that only makes us fit together better" Levi shot back without a second thought and tightening his arm around her just a little in a fond squeeze. 

"As much as a foolish alpha you once were during our early days of living together, you were never cruel. Most would have assumed I'd be begging for sexual pleasure as they're taught in school. You never once did. You wouldn't even touch me apart from trying to force food or water down my throat. Grabbing my hands whenever I scratched you for trying to destroy my nest because you didn't understand what it was. You were a decent friend even if you were rubbish in the actual care needed at the time" Mikasa mumbled out without much thought and just letting her body relax and turn like slosh in his hold as she knew she was safe and would still be treated with respect even during her snuggle moments. She didn't have to fear over being judged by him, now or ever. 

"I would never force myself on anyone. Not even to an omega in heat. If they asked me in person before their heat and asked for me to stand as their trusted partner for their heat than I'll help as best as I can. But I'd never force myself on a person. No matter their genders" Levi replied completely serious, a deep frown on his lips while an angry flare filled his eyes over the mere thought over anyone ever forcing themselves on someone like that. 

"And that's what makes you an admirable alpha" Mikasa hummed back sweetly. 

"Mummy!" Armin joyful voice soon filled the room as the young boy came running inside the office with a bright and adorable smile pulling on his lips. 

"Hello, my sweet bird" Mikasa smiled as she slowly sat up and leaned forward ready to pull her pup up with them. 

"Furlan said you sent for me?" Armin asked as he raised his arms and squealed as he was lifted up into the air before carefully placed on Levi's lap sideways. 

"I asked for you. Your mother is going into her heat. She's currently having her pre-heat day" Levi explained as he ran his free hand through the boy's hair while Mikasa moved back to his side and snuggled in again. 

"Oh" Armin breathed out. 

"You've got me for the rest of today but then I'm sad to say I'd be in the nest for the rest of the week. You'll be in the other's care, and I know you'll be a good pup for them, right?" Mikasa smiled as she tapped the boy's nose and gained a cute giggle from it. 

"I will. I'll be really good so than I can come see you and we'll snuggle in the nest at bedtime" Armin promised with an excited nod as he always love his moments in the nest with his mother and feeling as if the world couldn't ever touch them. 

"I've already added your favourite blanket to my nest" Mikasa added with a knowing smile, remembering the blanket use to be the only thing that her pup would allow to be wrapped around him whenever he was having a tearful and lung screaming night during their early days at the manor. 

"Do you need any of my clothing? I can see if Furlan and Isabel have kept some shirts out for you to use with their secants as well if you need?" Levi asked at the reminder of giving up a few bits of clothing with his scent for her nest. She knew she'd steal a sock or jumper from Furlan for his friendly scent to reminder her he was a trusted friend whenever he left meals outside her door. Taking a shirt or shoe from Isable for the same reason. Levi normally lost a couple of shirts or blanket from his bed depending on the season. 

"I've already gotten them. Your spare shirts as well. Gathered them yesterday" Mikasa answered easily as she wrapped her arm around her pup who was happily snuggling in the alpha's lap and his mother's hold. 

"Why didn't you just ask?" Levi asked with a small frown, he didn't mind her stealing from his room, but he'd prefer to hand them over willingly. 

"I know we're open and comforting to each other over my heat, but I still find it embarrassing to ask for a piece of clothing from other's due to wanting their scent. I haven't had a nest filled with my family scent for a long time before you brought me here. It feels .. odd to be able to have them again" Mikasa muttered back with a small pout and her cheeks flushed from embarrassment as she spoke the truth out loud. 

Levi stayed silent as he just stated at her with parted lips. He could feel his cheeks heat up at the realization that Mikasa saw them as a family, her own pack as much as he's slowly learnt to do. To have her purposely keep some form of clothing in her nest to help her feel relaxed and safe by her family being around her even while she can't physically see them. 

He would have been embarrassed to confess such a truth himself and understood why she couldn't openly ask for their spare bits of clothing they didn't mind losing for six days. Maybe five if it goes well for her. He felt a little less embarrassed over purposely buying extra shirts to wear to bed or on his days off to help fill them with his scent for her to use for only her heat. 

"Did you take something of my own?" Armin asked again with a hopeful smile as he wanted to help be a part of his mother's nest. 

"I've got your favourite blanket. You've still got your pups scent so it's not as strong as anyone else's scent. In a couple years' time you'd start gaining your own real scent and then I'll have to steal a sock from you or something to keep you with me in my nest" Mikasa reminded him as she always grabs his favourite blanket, leaving it lose inside as he'd snuggle under it when he lays with her. 

"Will I be able to still cuddle mummy in the nest when I become pack leader?" Armin innocently asked as he glanced between the two adults. 

"You'll always be my pup no matter how much you age. If you need the safety of my nest than you'll always be welcomed to enter it. All in my pack has that option" Mikasa reassured without any hesitation as she'd always open her nest to those who she trusted and needed a safe space for however long they needed it.

"Talking over nests and pups. Jean wrote a letter for the pair of us that arrived yesterday. I was meant to speak to you about it" Levi sighed as he glanced towards the women as he was meant to speak with her about it yesterday but forgot. 

"He was hoping I'd be able to teach Maroc have to build a nest. With the boy passing his second gender test and being an omega it's a skill he'd need. Jean's read books about how to build one and prepared for a pup's first heat but Maroc hasn't been overly thrilled with any nests built so far. Jeans got the supplies for them but sucks at the actually building of a nest" Mikasa mumbled back with a knowing tone as Jean had already asked for the favour during Armin's and Marco third playdate together. She knew he'd be writing about it just to check, writing to both of them since he knew Levi wasn't a controlling Alpha but would also like to be included with things, he might be able to help with. 

"Marco has years to go before he gains his first heat. Isn't it a little early to train him in nest building?" Levi replied with his eyebrows furrow in confusion over preparing the five-year-old to make nests so young. 

"An omega pup is normally raised in a nest. They grow around one, but Marco hasn't had that. He'll need a little help awakening his nest instincts and I'm happy to do help the pup with that. He needs a helping hand and I'm here to give it. It's best to have him prepared in case he goes into his first heat too early. It's rare but it happens. More towards pups raised by an Alpha only parent or pack. Their second gender instincts awaken much sooner than families raised with mixture of second genders in them" Mikasa calmly explained as she sat up, feeling much better and ready to sit on her own for a bit but wanting to stay close so she simply stayed sitting beside him instead. Pulling her pup to her own lap and running her fingers through his silky hair. 

"I'll write back to Jean tomorrow and plan a day for you to visit Marco after your heat. I can take Armin to work with me that day and we'll bond again. Will that be okay?" Levi replied as he rubbed at his chin and tried not to miss the warmth by his side or having a pup on his lap acting if they were his own. 

"Please say yes mummy. I really want to bond with Levi" Armin begged excitedly and giving her his best puppy dog eyes over being allowed to go out with Levi alone. 

"Then you've gained a yes. It'd do you some good to spend time with Levi without me around" Mikasa grinned back as she pressed a kiss to her pup's forehead and knowing he'd be okay with Levi. 

"Are you sure?" Levi asked with a raised eyebrow as she's never allowed her pup to go anywhere without her before. 

"I need to give him space to grow his own pair of wings. I can't stay with him once he starts school and I know you'll keep him safe. I don't want to turn into a mother that keeps their child locked away, out of sight from everyone else until they die from old age" Mikasa sighed as she looked down to her pup and knowing she needed to start giving him space before she turns into a crazy and clingy parent.
