He stayed sitting on the sofa within the lounge, reading the important document sent to him from the company building as it needed an answer as soon as possible. Or so he was told as it was delivered by his sectary but in truth he could have replied tomorrow when he was at the office in person.

He felt a milky scent drift in with the next breeze and kept his eyes focused on the letter at the document at hand. His ears picking up the pitter patter of tiny feet as they shuffled into the room, trying to hurry but being carefully as they knew better then to trip themselves up and hurt themselves. 

He felt something land on the edge on the opposite end of the sofa before tiny hands scrunched up at the middle cushion. Unconsciously unhooking his right leg that he had draped over his left knee before placing his  left foot under the tiny tush. Using his foot to help shove them up onto the sofa with him while their little hands crawled and helped to lift some of their body weight. 

He wasn't overly concerned with the little intruder that had started to wiggle closer beside him after grabbing whatever they dropped before. A second body curling around him and trying to take a peek at the document in his hand before finally opening their own book they had brought with them. Staring at words of their children book and giving it as much focus as he did with his own work. 

The pup, a most likely Beta since they've had him tested early due to his fifth birthday being only three weeks away. The pup was an bastard child but he didn't mind. Mikasa was honest over the fact and it explained while her instincts were so protection over the pup, it wasn't just an omega protecting her pup but an omega defending a bastard child from the harms of simply being born. 

He adored the pup, he helped to brighten up the old manor. He was always cheerful, heart of gold and loved to read. He was always exploring and trying to learn while falling smitten over any and all physical attention given to him. He was a little shy towards strangers and on a few topics but he cherished those he did like and knew well enough. 

He's spoiled the pup with more books then needed for a pup. The manor held it's own library and he's ready a handful of the books to the pup since he came to live with him. The pup was just a year old when he found Mikasa, the pup tightly held against her body as it whimpered over a stranger like him suddenly appearing. 

Now, mostly four years later, he's full of life and is still a bit of a cry-baby but he's learnt to find it oddly cute. 

The boy might not be of blood but he's already been wiggled into his own will. If he stays or not, he'll always have a home in the manor and money to his name. 

"Hard day at work?" Levi simply asked as he risked a glance to the blonde pup beside him. Both pretending they were in the smoking room at work and not both currently lazing at home. 

"Indeed" Armin answered with a stern nod as if he's lived the most important day of his life already. 

"Want to let of some steam?" Levi asked as he glanced back to the document and hiding his armament over the pup seriousness. 

"It's bedding day and I wanted to help Isabel hang the bedding up on the line. The sheet monster attacked me as soon as I tried grabbing it from the basket. I fought and fought but it ended up winning and Isabel had to wash it again. But I was allowed to hold the peg bag and held out the pegs for her to use" Armin rambled out with a deep and stressed frown as he talked over helping with the washing and perking up when he mentioned what bits he was able to help with after his terrible defeat. 

"Sheet monster's are very dangerous. One should never face them alone unless trained" Levi replied with a straight face and giving the best advice he could to the boy. He remembered when he was to small to really help with putting bedding on the line as a boy. 

"I thought I was ready to face one" Armin confessed a little sheepish, his ears turning rosy from his embarrassment. 

"What happened afterwards?" Levi curiously asked as he wondered what else he's been up to since breakfast. 

"Furlan was in the middle of starting on lunch and I was able to pick up his dropped spoon before he helped me to place it in the sink. He had to pick me up so I could reached but I dropped it into the sink just fine. And then I went to go fetch an apple from the pantry for my snack. Mother turned up to help cut it into slices for me and took me to outside to eat them. She read a full chapter of my book to me before It was time for my nap" Armin smiled back with pure happiness beaming off him as he talked about the next task he was able to help with. Smiling more and his milky scent being release just a little more as he talked over his mother. 

"Was it a good nap?" Levi asked with all importance he could manage. He knew Mikasa might scold him for being so serious with her pup but he knew she secretly found it amusing to watch as well. Armin was clearly more mature for his age but he still held such an innocent delight to it. 

"Very good. Took some time to drift off but mother stayed until I finally did fall into the land of dreams. I woke up alone and knew I was falling behind when Lunch is almost ready" Armin easily replied with complete honesty.  

"And how much work do you have left?" Levi asked next as he glanced down to the children book in the pup's lap. 

"How much do you have?" Armin shyly asked back as he glanced between his book and the document. Trying to seem as busy as his pack leader seemed to be. 

"I think I'll finish reading this before Furlan calls for lunch" Levi answers with ease as he's already finished reading it and was mostly just re-reading it again. But the boy didn't need to know that just yet. 

"I don't think I can read my next chapter that fast.." Armin confessed with a pout as he lowered his head and his mood dropping quickly over not being able to read as quick as him. 

"Take your time. I'll read the rest of it in my office after lunch" Levi reassures the pup, stroking his fingers through the boy's hair and helping to comfort him again. 

"Really?" Armin asked excited, staring up with his shiny blue eyes full of hope.

"I will" Levi assures with a small nod and watching the boy's smile grow even more before digging back into his book. 

The two returned to their content silence. Armin happily reading his book at his slow pace without much embarrassment now while he himself pretended to still be busy with his document. Not bothering to lift his gaze as another presence hovered in the doorway, silently admiring her pup with their pack leader during their small moment together. 

No other Alpha would have been accepting of the pup or would have even tried to get along and encourage him as he did. He gave the boy time to think and speak his mind. Pushed him to try a harder book and never allowed him to cry when he failed but he didn't bring any disappointment from it. If an outsider stood in the doorway they would have assumed the pup was actually his all along. 

"Levi?" Mikasa softly called out as she entered the room, a faint but true smile sent towards her pup who perked up at his mother's voice. 

"Hmm?" Levi hummed back and placing his document down on the end table beside him. 

"Furlan says lunch will be a little late. Isabel blew the oven out .. again" Mikasa passed on the message she was told when helping to set the dinning table. They might have all hold different standings in the public eye but they all sat and ate around the table like one large, crazy family. 

"How late?" Levi asked with a worried frown, knowing when they've been late in the past it was served when they would have had dinner. 

"Only another thirty minutes" Mikasa answered as she came to a stop by the sofa, glancing down to her pup fondly as he shuffled on his spot awaiting affection.  

"Meaning you can read a little longer, mister" Levi commented as he poked at the pup's head and nodding towards the book. 

"After hugs from mummy. A man must complete his duties" Armin huffed back as he placed his book down in the free seat on the sofa before raising his hands and awaiting to be picked up. 

"Of course he must" Levi agreed with a small nod, taking the boy completely serious even as he was fighting back a smirk. 

"Been working hard?" Mikasa asked with a small smile as she held her pup, resting him on her hip as he's grown a little over the years. 

"The hardest" Armin announced with pride. 

"No wonder you're our pack leader" Mikasa cooed back as she brushed her nose against his cheek. 

"Hehe" Armin giggled, wiggling in his mother's gentle but tight hold to make sure she didn't drop him. 

"Will you be arriving at the office with me tomorrow?" Levi curiously asked as he's gotten use to Mikasa coming along with him and finding some odd jobs at the company building to do and complete. She wasn't an employer but she helped out a lot and every worker knew her by now. She had a huge fan base of her own in fact and Levi didn't have to worry over any un-behaved Alphas making any trouble for her since his workers wouldn't allow any near her. They even took her side whenever the pair of them might be arguing with each other. 

"If you don't mind. As much as I love this place it get's a little suffocating and it'd be nice to be kept busy for a day" Mikasa sighed as she swayed on the spot, happily holding her pup and sharing their scent together to remind him he was loved and cherished. To keep him feeling safe and protected. 

"I don't mind. It's useful to have someone I can actually relies on to do given work I give them. You're the hardest working employee I've got and you're not even hired to work there" Levi admitted as he stared at the pup and mother, feeling proud over how relaxed and safe they both were compared to the first month they lived together. 

"Can I help too? I'll be really good. I can past papers and make the grumpy faces smile. I'll share the sweeties they give me for being so cute" Armin asked hopeful as he glanced between his mother and the Alpha, giving his best puppy dog eyes in hopes to be able to come with them. 

"I wouldn't mind some extra company at the office if you don't mind him joining me for the day. I'll keep him in sights as much as I can and leave him in the hands of trusty workers" Levi replied with a small shrug he glanced to the pup and knowing how much joy he brings to his workers during his rare visits. Everyone adored the boy and was smitten with him. They spoiled him much more then either of them could.

"Are you sure he won't be a bother? I know you don't like to be disturbed when actually working at the office" Mikasa asked with concern as she didn't want her pup getting in anyone's way or annoying anyone in case they do snap at him. Her son was easily spooked and got upset rather easy. 

"I won't be bothered by him. It'd be nice for him to come out with us and explore some more" Levi confessed without any hesitation as he rather enjoyed the couple hours spent with the pup in his office before he gets shooed to explore the building and chat with some of the workers. 

"I give permission for me to come, mother" Armin perked up with his own say in the matter, making his mother chuckle. 

"And we can't refuse the pack leader" Levi reminded her with a smirk as he stared at the pair, knowing they'd be bossed around for the rest of their lives by the smart little pup. He held all the power in the world without knowing it.
