Levi knew he was asking a lot of his friend when he passed on his request. Knew he might even be placing his friend in danger due to the favour asked. But he knew he could count on his old friend to see it through and not be bought off by someone trying to stop his snooping. 

Furlan would be looking into the Yeager family. Getting the real intel over them and as much dirt as possible. Not to use against the family but for Levi to understand the power and the money this family held. 

Levi wasn't looking for a war, it's why he was trusting Furlan to look into the family for him. Levi just wanted to have an understanding what he'd be facing if the Yeager family took interest in his name and his pack. Levi would die ripping out the throats of anyone who tries bringing harm to his home, his family. He knew Mikasa would be right beside him to defend her cub and their home, most likely being more brutal about it than Levi would be. 

He's taken in Jean's warning over what the Yeager family and how they fight dirty. He knew the town wouldn't back him up or defend him. Meaning Levi's pack is the only backup he'd have if the Yeager's decided to deal with them. 

And why Levi might bite his tongue and accept whatever demands from the Yeager's are given for the easy life. Levi will also not be disrespected nor be walked over. He might have kept an open mind if he met the Yeager's peacefully but seeing how Eren had allowed himself into Jean's home and casually grabbed his hat, sure he owned it, but allowing himself to stroll into someone else's turf without care. That pissed Levi off. 

"Are you sure about this? I'll understand if you don't feel comfortable over this" Levi asked as he looked to his friend, the two of them were currently inside an unused room, knowing they'd get the privacy needed. 

"Any threat to the Ackerman name is a threat to me. We're a pack, you've said so yourself and I won't allow myself to lose another pack nor home. I couldn't forgive myself if I lost Isabel nor if I knew that Armin might be killed due to no longer being protected" Furlan answered honestly, his expression serious as he couldn't allow an unknown threat to grow towards them without doing something to help against it first.  He's lost a pack before, he won't lose another. 

"I don't want the others learning over this. Not until I know enough over the Yeager family and understand how much of a threat they might be. I'll hold a family meeting once I know and tell them all. I apologize for making you keep secretive about this" Levi confesses as he stood by the window, leaning a shoulder into the frame as he watched Mikasa chase after a gleeful Armin in the garden. 

"I understand. It's wise to be wary" Furlan agreed with a small smile, understanding why he wanted it to be secretive for now. 

"Don't allow yourself to be caught snooping. I have a feeling that the Yeager's aren't clean enough to not make a stranger disappear or two" Levi warned, a deep and troubled frown taking over his lips. He knew the Yeagers might make a few people vanish if they felt like it and no one would take notice. 

"I won't be caught and killed. My detective skills are still the best in this town. I'll learn what I need without being hanged for it as a spy" Furlan reassured as he knew how to gain intel without being found out. It's how he stayed fed when he was on the streets. 

"Take care" Levi replied to his friend, hoping that things go smoothly for him. 

"I shall. For now, protect our pack. Otherwise I do fear that dear Mikasa would burn the Yeager's down herself if they force her cub to lose his home. And I must admit, I wouldn't blame her, might even encourage her" Furlan smiled back as he walked over to his friend, patting him on the shoulder as he glanced out the window to watch the mother and cub play. Chuckling as he thought over Mikasa's reaction if someone harmed her cub and their home. 

"You and me both" Levi smirked back, knowing he wouldn't hold the omega back from burning the Yeager's down if they stole their home first. He'd most likely drive her to the mansion himself. 

Soon enough they both left the room and Furlan would start his digging while still doing his chores at the manor. He wouldn't allow anything obvious change in his life or risk anyone noticing anything different in his life. 

He'd do his digging in his free time while catching no attention over it. 

Leaving Levi to carry on with his life as it was. Knowing that he could trust his friend with this request and would soon learn as much as his friend could learn over the Yeager's within a couple of weeks the latest. Furlan would drop updates or his findings every couple of days so Levi could think over the information told him as it comes in. 

Levi wasn't going to lose another pack nor be taken as a fool. 

If the Yeager's took interest in them, they'd have to move to Levi's pace this time.
