(4) Liar, Liar
"So you're telling me that the reason my parents started forcing me to make this money for them wasn't because they just wanted a lifestyle upgrade..."
"But because your father had to give my mom money to help support us after she had my little sister. Well...our little sister."
Jeongin sat back on the couch.
"I have to talk to him."
"I can help you. If I had any idea he was forcing you to make this money for them, I would have confronted him sooner."
"So, your mom. Has she known all along he had a wife and kids?"
"I think she did. When I found out and told her...she didn't seem shocked."
"I can't believe this."
Jeongin and Felix were both in the same position.
Here was a man who had lied to both of them. But what hurt then even more wasn't that they were lied to.
But it was their siblings.
Jiah, and Felix's baby sister, both had no idea of any of this. They were probably too young to even understand what it all meant.
Jeongin and Felix were adults however, and did not plan on letting this slide.
Once everyone had been informed (aside from Chris) of the situation at the club, Changbin let Jeongin go home.
He told him that he could take as long as he needed to come back, if he ever felt safe to do so.
Changbin even agreed to still pay him in an effort to lessen the possible beating he would recieve from Chris once he got word of what happened.
When all was said and done, Felix offered to drive Jeongin back to his apartment.
As expected, Jiah and Chris were there, watching SpongeBob Squarepants on the tv.
"Felix? Oh my god you're here!", Chris said.
He bear hugged Felix.
"I see you've met Jeongin. You must have went to the club?"
"I did. I had to see who the new boy you mentioned was. But...you're not going to believe this."
As they walked into the apartment, Jiah ran up and hugged his brother.
"Jeongin hyung! How was work?", he asked.
"Work was great, Jiah. How was your night so far?"
"It was good! Chris and I watched cartoons and played games. And we ate snacks."
Jeongin laughed a little.
"Well I'm happy to hear you had a good time. Do you mind going to your room for a bit? The three of us need to talk."
"Okay hyung! But, you gotta play games with me later then."
"Tomorrow, Jiah. It's already late."
"Hmph...okay."
Jiah walked away to his room with a pout.
Jeongin, Chris, and Felix sat on the couch in that order.
Felix had been telling Chris what happened when he got there.
"But luckily I got inside when I did.", Felix said.
"I just hope you guys don't let me come in contact with Changbin again...I'll do bad things.", Chris replied.
He turned to Jeongin.
"Are you okay? You're not hurt right?"
"No, I'm okay. Just...everything is a lot right now."
"So how are we going to fix this?", Chris asked, "We aren't letting this slide are we?"
Felix smiled.
"Not at all. Jeongin and I have another part of this story to tell you."
They both proceeded to explain the situation about Jeongin's dad to Chris.
"All I can say is wow...how much of a loser do you have to be?"
"The biggest of losers.", Felix replied.
"I'm going to confront him.", Jeongin said, "All of this has happened because of him. The situation with Jiah and me...it's all his fault."
Jeongin stood up.
"I'm going to call my dad. Be right back."
Jeongin stepped into the kitchen and took out his phone.
After just a few rings, his dad picked up.
"What?", Dad said, "Calling me this late..."
"Dad we need to talk."
"If this isn't about the money, I don't really need to hear it."
"Actually...it is about the money. See I was going to ask to meet you in person, but I don't think I can stand the sight of your face."
"Excuse me? You know I don't tolerate this type of disrespect."
"Oh you don't? What about the disrespect you gave my mother when you cheated on her?"
"What?"
"What about the disrespect you gave Felix's mom by being married when you met her? What about the disrespect of getting her pregnant when you had two sons you didn't even love!"
The line was silent.
"You want to talk to me about disrespect?! You forced me to make money for you and my mother because you lied and said it was to sustain your lifestyle. But it was for my little sister and her mother! Your family that you lied about!"
"Jeongin...why is it your business what I do?"
"Why? Because I'm your son. I'm your first born who has been the sole caretaker of your youngest son for the past few years. I have been more of a father to him than you."
"Jeongin-"
"You are a liar, and a manipulative man. I hesitate to even call you dad."
"So what are you going to do about it huh? You can't do anything. If you stop helping us, your sister suffers."
"She won't suffer. My little sister doesn't deserve that. But you do. I met Felix, and from now on, the money I make will be going to him to help his family."
Felix and Chris had been listening to the call and looked at each other when Jeongin said that.
"And I will support my mother. Not you. Because despite how she's treated us...I know she did so because of you. So do me a favor..."
Jeongin took a deep breath.
"...don't ever contact me, or Jiah. I can't stop you from seeing our little sister, so as far as you should be concerned, you only have one child."
He hung up.
Chris went over and hugged him.
"You did a good job. That took a lot of courage."
"Thanks Chris."
Felix joined the hug.
They all just stood there for a minute.
When they separated, Jeongin turned towards Jiah's room.
"I'll go be with Jiah tonight. Can you two come back over tomorrow. I'll need your help."
"For sure.", Felix said.
"Thank you. Tomorrow, we come uo with a plan. My dad will not get away with this..."
