The night of Beacon's dance finally arrived. The hall was decorated, the DJ was pumping out the jams, and people were making their way in, sometimes in teams, sometimes in couples, and sometimes completely stag. That was the way Ruby went after managing to trip her away across campus in her new high heels. Upon entering, Yang, who was working as the hostess, couldn't stop from exclaiming, "You look beautiful!"

Ruby's legs shook. "Can we have a serious talk about how Weiss fights in these?"

Yang laughed as Ruby tried to catch her balance.

Ruby wasn't the only one not enjoying the change of wardrobe.

As Sun made his way across campus, he kept scratching at his abs, itchy from wearing his shirt closed. He also complained about another wardrobe change. "Stupid, dumb neck trap!" He said, pulling on his tie which had been incorrectly placed around his neck instead of his collar. But someone else had a different opinion.

"I knew you'd look better in a tie."

Sun turned. Standing behind him was Blake in a lavender dress and teal bow. She looked up demurely and Sun felt his heart skip a beat.

Blake walked up to him and grabbed his arm.

"So... does this mean we're going together?"

"Technically. But my first dance is spoken for."

(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)

Inside the ballroom, streamers are hung through glass chandeliers, pink and blue balloons are everywhere, and students in dark suits and bright dresses are stepping with each other to the music between the white-clothed tables. Blake is spun around by Yang before they curtsey to one another, and Sun comes up and takes his date's hands as Yang gestures for him to do so. She goes to hang with Ruby, Jack, Emma and Weiss in the back of the room, watching Blake laugh and enjoy herself before smiling at her team.

Ruby is wearing a short red sleeveless dress. Both Weiss and Yang wore simple white dresses. Ben was in a black tuxedo with a green buttoned up shirt inside. Emma somewhat manages to get into a red dress with the help of Jack to hide her Nemetrix symbol and her robotic parts.

Jack crossed his arms. "I told you guys she would come."

"Then with that said, mission accomplished." Weiss replied.

"So what do we do now?" Ruby asked her teammates.

"Just have fun!" Emma said. Jack then offered his hand to Emma, which she takes as they head to the dance floor. Weiss then walks away in a different direction. Ruby was left alone, feeling awkward.

"Does that mean I can change out of these stupid things and into my hood now?!" Ruby yelled.

"Not enjoying yourself?" asked Ozpin, walking up to the young lady.

"Oh no. ha-ha everything's fine," Ruby said nervously. "I'm just not much of a dansey, pansey... dansey girl."

"Well, you can't spend your entire life on the battlefield. Even if you may want to." Ozpin said.

"Yeah, that lessons been floating around a lot lately." Ruby said, crossing her arms over her chest.

"If you think about it fighting and dancing aren't so different two partners interlocked. Heh, although one wrong move on the ballroom merely leads to a swollen foot."

"Or a twisted ankle." Ruby said.

"It's not everyday friends get to come together like this," Ozpin said looking around the room at the young couple's. "Time has a way of testing our bonds. But it's nights like these that can help keep them stronger than ever. Night's like these are one's we'll never forget."

The sound of the door opening got Ruby's attention.

"You guys are just in time." Yang said as she was back at the hostess stand.

While Emerald and Mercury walked in. Mercury wearing a black orange lined suit with a matching Orange bow tie, While Emerald wore a black and green dress.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world." Mercury replied.

As the evening wore on with more and more students arriving and even most of the professors, Ruby decided to camp somewhere out of the way. It turned out to be a legitimate strategy as it kept her from moving which kept her from tripping over her shoes.

Someone slid up to her. "I see you're hiding out by the punch bowl, too." Jaune said.

"Yep."

"To the socially awkward." Jaune toasted.

Ruby snickered and clinked her glass against Jaune's. "Sorry things didn't work out with Weiss."

"Meh. It's... fine! Neptune's pretty cool. I get why she went with him."

"What do you mean?" Ruby asked.

"Well, come on. Not many people can pull off blue hair," Jaune said.

"No, I mean Weiss came to the dance alone." Ruby stated.

"What?!" Jaune said, choking on his drink.

"Weiss said she had too much to focus on to worry about boys." Ruby said.

The two looked over to Weiss who was attending to some of the party decorations, before glancing over to Sun and Neptune. The two laughing over Neptune's story, while chatting up a few girls.

Jaune grit his teeth. "Hold my punch." Ruby took the cup and Jaune began to march over to Neptune.

(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)

"You know I think we really needed this," she said looking down at the crowd below.

"Yeah. And you did a great job planning it." Ruby said.

"Aww, thanks!" Yang replied as she hugged ruby tightly.

Jack chuckled at the two sisters before noticing Neptune walking over to Weiss.

'About time he showed up.' Jack thought.

"Tomorrow, it's back to work." Yang said.

"Well' I'm sure with Jack and Emma by our side, we can handle whatever's thrown at us." Ruby said.

"You make it sound like we doing all work." Jack teased.

"Pfft as if you guys are mostly the backup." Ruby giggled.

"Oh really." Jack chuckled.

"Well there's something I think we would have never expected." Yang said pointing at the dance floor.

There on the dance floor stood Jaune in a... dress?

"Nice dress Jaune. It really matches your eyes!" Emma yelled to the blonde knight, earning a laughter from the crowd.

Ruby then nudges Jack's shoulder. "Jack do you see that?"

Jack turned towards the window and someone running on top of the rooftops "Ruby, stay here I'll take of it. I call if I need any help." Jack said as went to walk out to the door.

Ruby bit her lip wanting to help Jack face the intruder, but complied with his request.

(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)

On the second floor of the hall also enjoying the show was Emerald and Mercury. "It seems like all the dancers have partners." Emerald said to the air.

"How long do I have?" Cinder's voice came, technologically modified.

"We should probably be home by midnight just to be safe." Mercury replied.

"I'll keep my eye on the clock."

(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)

Jack knew then that something was definitely wrong. He ran to find many of the Atlesian guards all knocked unconscious and one of them was bleeding.

Jack looked around the atrium trying to discern where the assailant had gone. Unfortunately, there was no sign of the uninvited guest. The only place he could have gone was up. He called the elevator down where she found two more guards. One of them was still conscious. "Who did this?!"

"I don't know." The guard groaned. "But she's upstairs. In the Communications room."

Jack boarded the elevator and prepared himself for battle.

(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)

Meanwhile, up in the communications room, Cinder was fast at work at one of the terminals. She inserted her scroll and downloaded the files that had been specially prepared for Beacon's mainframe. Despite the quick and dirty hack, Cinder's infiltration didn't raise any alarms which was fortunate for her.

A fireball is suddenly launched towards the computer and at her. Cinder manages to dodge, but the computer she was typing at was destroyed and incinerated, destroying whatever she was doing there.

Cinder looked and saw Jack with his arms crossed.

Cinder paused for a second, her frustration vanished. That was the first thing out of the shapeshifter's mouth? No challenge? No how dare you? No mention of all the wounded guards? What a strange boy.

Cinder grabbed one of the Dust canisters on her and spread the Dust out in front of her. Glass shards formed in mid-air, and Cinder launched them.

Jack readies his MonTrix and slams down on the hourglass symbol. "It's hunting time!"

"TEOSTRA!" The Flame King Elder Dragon roared. He stood there and tanked the glass with no injuries whatsoever.

"I warned you, but you leave me no choice." Teostra growled before spreading ashes all over the room. Cinder was confused by what he is doing. But when the ashes reached her, the Elder Dragon grinds his teeth, causing the ashes to explode. Cinder was blown back, but manages to recover in mid-air before summoning two glass swords made of Dust and slashes Teostra whilst jumping.

Teostra swipes with his claws, but the woman kept dodging and switches from glass swords to a bow and arrow. Annoyed, he turns and swipes his tail into Cinder, who lands at the wrong place at the wrong time. The impact sends her flying backwards. She fires more shard crystals at Teostra. However, the Flame King Elder Dragon puffs his cheeks out before unleashing an immense flamethrower that melts the glass and struck Cinder.

As the fight went on, Cinder's frustration grew. It had been close to seven minutes and her opponent was not showing any sign of fatigue or even dealt actual damage.

What she didn't know of course is that Elder Dragons possessed limitless stamina, therefore a group of hunters would fight one for one hour, and still not show any signs of exhaustion.

The elevator thundered to life as it descended to the ground to pick up the people that had called it. Cinder is running out of time, and if she spent any longer here, she would be caught. That was not part of her plan, and so far her night was taking a turn for the worst.

Teostra detected a massive surge of power as the woman's eyes started glowing. He narrowed his blue eyes. He wasn't about to let her do whatever she is about to do. Teostra slaps the MonTrix symbol on his chest as four diagonal spikes popped out as he goes Ultimate.

"ULTIMATE TEOSTRA!" The chimera-like Elder Dragon roars as he leaps and swipes at her abdomen with his left claw. He felt her ribs cracked, and red aura radiates from her for a second, and Ultimate Teostra knows her Aura is depleted. It was a brutal move to do, but he put enough power to incapacitate her.

Ultimate Teostra's three heads then fired powerful blue flamethrowers. She grunts as her back collided with a wall. Denting and cracking it from the force. She moaned and growled in pain as she struggled to get up. He could see the blood dripping from her mouth as she glared at him with hatred in her eyes.

The elevator door opened as Emma, Ironwood, and Ozpin came out in a rather hurried pace. His vision drifted towards the newcomers for a few moments, and then back to the woman. Ultimate Teostra's six eyes widened as her form literally withered and fell apart in an ash-like substance. Her energy completely disappearing along with her physical appearance. She escaped.

A quiet growl echoed out of his throats. There was nothing he hated more than letting potential threats escape.

"What's going on here!?" Ironwood demanded. Ultimate Teostra looked at the spot where the woman had been. A small stain of blood was all that remained of her being there. Someone was stalking around Beacon in the guise of a student.

"Someone attacked the tower and tried to steal information, from what I can see," Ultimate Teostra explained before he turns back as Jack. He gestured to the smouldering pile of computer equipment that he had blown up. "I destroyed it before she had the chance get anything out of it." Jack finished. Ironwood narrowed his eyes while Emma is relieved her boyfriend is still alright. Ozpin seemed content with that answer.

"Thank you, Jack. I am pleased that you could put a stop to whatever our attacker was doing. If you would, I would like to speak to you further on this tomorrow. For now, I'll place this area off-limits and double security." Ozpin informed. Ironwood looked like he wanted to argue, but kept his mouth shut.

"Thanks, I guess." He responded rather bitterly. He was still annoyed that he had missed the girl escaping. How had she managed to do something like that?

(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)(^)

Cinder was beyond furious.

Instead of retreating into the partly like she had originally planned, she was forced to fall back to her assigned dorm to treat her newly acquired wounds. Emerald and Mercury had slipped out of the party unnoticed to help her.

They were currently in their dorm, where Cinder was lying on her bed.

Her ribs had been severely damaged and cracked. She was surprised that she'd managed to escape at all. Her aura was almost shot and her body was quite frankly, a mess. She couldn't believe that it only took one swipe  and three attacks from the chimera-like Elder Dragon to put her in such a state.

"Jesus, what happened!?" Emerald gasped as she saw the blood leaking from her boss's mouth. Cinder had her teeth clenched in agony as Mercury watched the door carefully. Their plans for tonight had completely been ripped asunder by one boy.

"I told you two... to watch the... damn party guests!" Cinder struggled to say. Emerald felt a wave of guilt crush her while Mercury just sighed. He wasn't exactly scared of Cinder, he was just working for her. He didn't even feel sympathy for her obvious pain, but he would rather do his job than have her kill him later.

"Whoever... that boy is... watch him...I have to contact Roman and Adam. There must... be changes to the plan," Cinder breathed out. Her body was wracked with pain, but she was learning to deal with it rather quickly. Still, on her mind, she was replaying that fight. She had been attempting to incapacitate him.

His watch is truly powerful in Cinder's opinion.

"Is... is he really that dangerous? One person to cause a change to all of our plans?" Emerald asked. Mercury was interested as well. Cinder was incredibly powerful. Enough to scare Roman Torchwick and Adam Taurus into submission. Granted Roman wasn't really scared, and Adam was forced to submit, but the point was... he knew Cinder was extremely powerful and skilled.

"He... hit me... once." Cinder emphasized. Emerald and Mercury's eyes widened at that. "This is the result of that hit." Cinder coughed up a bit of blood. She was seriously damaged. But her Aura would heal her in due time. She would recover, but now they had to be wary.

Even with half of the Maiden's abilities, Cinder still felt powerless compared to him. She knew... she knew even if she did use it, she still would have been defeated just as easily. All she could do was use it to escape. Whatever he was, it was beyond even her understanding and power.

Why?

Because the boy didn't even look like he was trying. He looked like he was trying to give mercy to her. Offer her a way out. It made her sick. Not only was she hurt badly, but her pride had been insulted and damaged in the process.

"Go back to the party," Cinder ordered. Emerald and Mercury looked at each other before looking back at their boss, concern clear in their eyes. "People will start asking questions. I don't want to risk anyone suspecting us! I'll be fine." Cinder grunted in pain. When the two still hadn't moved, her anger flared.

"GO!"

Emerald and Mercury were out the door in seconds, leaving Cinder lying on her bed in agony. It was incredibly hard to breathe, and she knew she was going to start coughing soon. She could feel the cracks and broken bones.

"How is that even possible?" she thought in confusion. She pushed herself up from her bed and made her way towards the bathroom. Pushing open the door she stumbled inside and placed her arms on the basin. She looked up into the mirror.

She was a mess, and her eyes reflected the pain she was feeling.

She stripped down, she needed to shower and see the extent of the damage. No doubt there was going to be bruising, but it was nothing her aura wouldn't heal in due time. But that was the problem. With the extent of her injuries, she was bound to be bedridden for at least a couple of days.

Moving over to the shower, she switched it on and stood inside. The hot water refreshing her mind and allowing her a moment of peace.

She needed time to think.

Time to plan.

But how would she possibly stand against someone who could do this to her? She knew this would take some pondering, and she was unsure if she would ever come up with an answer.

But Cinder and her boss are not the only ones who desired power and dominance.

Outer Space

"Hm..... So this is where Andros resides."

"Shall we attack now, my dear?"

"No, not until he is confused and at his most vulnerable. Tennyson is no longer at his side. For now, have Albedo watch him."

"Right away, my darling."

"Soon Andros. This universe will be ours. You will perish. Hahahahahaha! Hahahahahahahahahahaah! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Earth

Inside the plumber base, Blukic and Driba, Earth's Galvin scientists, were currently examining the recovered parts for the transporter that the Plumbers managed to salvage.

While the two were members of the most intelligent species in the galaxy, they were rather dimwitted. Regardless the two were still rather capable scientist and came through when they had to, although they were having a little trouble figuring out the device in front of them.

"Have you found anything out yet?" Max said, as he entered the lab with Ben and Rook.

"Not much." Blukic said with a bit of disappointment.

"If we can rebuild the transporter, would it be possible to track down the previous users and retrieve them." Rook asked.

"Definitely... probably... maybe." Blukic said, while adjusting his hat to hide his face.

"That's not exactly reassuring." Ben said.

"Perhaps I may be of some assistance." A voice said from outside the lab.

The plumbers present turned to find a middle aged man with a white coat and cybernetic arm standing in the door way.

"Professor Paradox, it's good to see you again." Max said as he shook the time traveler's hand.

"Likewise Maxwell." Paradox said.

"This is perfect, you can just bring Jack back" Ben said.

"I'm afraid not." Paradox said.

"Why not?" Ben whined.

"Jack's presence on the world he has been sent to may change it for the better if I were to return him here. That world's situation may become dire." Paradox explained. "Also they managed to find him as well." The Plumbers froze at the mention of them.

"So why did you come?" Rook asked.

"To ease your worries." Paradox said. "As well as to tell you if young Jack requires any aid from outside that dimension, I will bring them there, and that aid may include you. So please refrain from touching the transporter, before it explodes again."

Blukic and Driba, who were analyzing the circuitry quickly took a step back, away from the device before Paradox left in a flash his work was only just the beginning.

"I'm worried about Jack if they ever appeared, Gramps." Ben said to Max. "We barely managed to win against the two Kaijus. And I'm not sure he can fight them all by himself."

"Don't worry, Ben." Max assured, placing a hand on his shoulder. "We all know how Jack is willing to risk his life. And how tough he is. I'm sure he can manage himself until we get there."
