'So far, so good.' Jack thought as he entered wandered the streets of Redbay. As the name implies, Redbay is a town located in water with docks full of boats where fishing was the norm and lifeline of the area. The residents here are composed of multiple races such as humans, elves, halflings and severe more. He decided to become an adventurer so he can earn some money while still doing heroic deeds.

Before Jack left, he'd been given some clothes as a gift which he was thankful for. He would stick out like a sore thumb with his current appearance and so had to change outfits which would allow him to blend in a bit easier.

After asking the residents for directions, he managed to find an adventurer's guild and entered. The interior design is what Jack normally sees in those animes he and Kevin would watch. After admiring the look, he walked over to the counter where a female receptionist is sat here.

"Welcome to the Dragon's Fang guild! How can I be of service?" She bowed.

"I would like to apply as an adventurer please." Jack requested and she brought out a application paper and Jack filled the requirements and handed it back to receptionist. "Thank you and congrats on being an adventurer. You may select any quests from the over there." She gestured to the board to the right and bowed once again.

"Thanks." Jack nodded and walked over to the board, hoping to find any good ones. He shouldn't  be picky, but he would prefer not to bust out his more powerful Monsters for the time being. After inspecting each and every quest Jack chose three that is suitable for him and turned them over so he can complete them.

"Hm, they should around somewhere- Ah! This is the place!" Jack arrived at a forest which one of his quests was assigned. His first quest was from a farmer who wanted to harvest some truffles. It was near the end of the season which is where they are most plentiful. But she didn't any dogs nor the skills to find them since her husband had died from sickness years ago.

"Alright, time to put this big guy to good use." Jack reached for his MonTrix and rotated through his roster to find the one he's looking for. Once he spotted it, he slams the faceplate and undergoes a transformation. In his place is a giant boar with brown and white fur on its body with two massive, curved tusks that are broken yet still sharp at the end. The MonTrix symbol located on on its head.

"BULLDROME!" The Great Boar shouted, stomping his hooves. With Bulldrome's heightened senses, he begins sniffing the ground and it wasn't long before he located where the truffles are buried and began digging through the dirt with his massive tusks. A minute passed and Bulldrome found an abundance of truffles lying beneath the ground he dug up.

"She wasn't kidding when she said there'd be a lot when you harvest them near the season's end." He commented and began to assess each and every one them. From their size alone Jack can tell the client is either going to make a lot of money.

"Alright now time to-" Bulldrome a crunching noise behind him and turns his body 180 degrees instantly, expecting a fight. Instead, he saw several wild boars approaching and munching on the truffles, only to stop when they came face to face with him.

"....."

"....."

"....." The Fanged Beast's right eye twitched.

"....." One of them decided to tempt fate by taking another bite out of a truffle.

"..... HANDS OFF MY FUCKING PROPERTY!!!" Bulldrome roared, charging at the boars who squealed and ran away in panic as they were chased off. Bulldromes are known for their fierce temper and will even attack their own pack. Jack made sure those pesky boars got the message.

For his second quest, Jack is tasked with exterminating a hive of Stormwasps located near a roadside where unlucky people passing by would get stung. Stormwasps are giant 3 feet insects resembling paper wasps, only they have blue instead of yellow and their wing design resemble maple leaves. Apparently the hive was much smaller before, but was left unchecked since none took the threat seriously which consequently allowed the colony to grow and most adventurers cleared clear as they lack the proper equipment to deal with them.

"Free snacks for me." Jack said and stretches out his tongue out to catch another Stormwasp before reeling it in his mouth and feasting on it. "Mmm, salty like those fish crackers." He commented.

Jack's current Monster form resembles an armadillo with red plates, yellow slit eyes and having clawed hands. most unique feature is its paralyzing saliva which also coats its prehensile tongue which functions similar to a chameleon when catching prey. The MonTrix symbol located on its chest.

"Ha! You must as well use sticks to try and hurt me!" Volvidon, the Red Shell Beast, taunted as he felt their stingers poke his shell in an effort to sting him. Unfortunately for them, Volvidon's shell are designed to withstand stings from Neopterons like Bnahabra. He quickly snatched another Stormwasp and chows down on it. In less than 5 minutes, the Stormwasps' number plummeted drastically, leaving just a few who decided to abandon the colony and flee for their lives, leaving their queen undefended.

Just then he felt something latch on to his shell and being poked at repeatedly as if trying to stab him. He turns his head over his shoulder and saw that it was the a Queen Stormwasp that was buzzing angrily as she tried to inject her venom into the intruder that invaded her hive, but the Fanged Beast's shell was too hard.

Volvidon takes a swipe at her, only for her to fly away and began circling around trying to find a weaknesses. Thinking his eyes are vulnerable, the Queen Stormwasp then poised her stinger and began a beeline for it. However, Volvidon waited until she was close enough before rearing his head back and spat out a ball of his paralyzing saliva.

He scores a direct hit and the struck Queen Stormwasp twitches from the ground, unable to move and leaving her vulnerable. "Cannonball!" Volvidon crouches down and jumps up high before curling up into a ball and lets gravity to the rest as he falls down and crashes into the Queen Stormwasp, resulting in a loud crunching and blood to platter the floor as he crushes it.

The Sea Wolves pirates have managed to successfully raid several trade ships and made of with tons of valuables. Food, gold and above all else, women. This was their 3rd raid this month and they intent on sampling their prisoners as victory. Moans of pain and pleasure came from the large ship as the crew had their ways with the women. They cried out for mercy but only received mocks from their captors.

The women tried to hold on to any hope they have, but some knew it was hopeless. The Sea Wolves pirates have evaded capture for years and it's unlikely they'll be found in time. Some accepted their fate while others silently said goodbyes to their families whom they'll probably never see again.

Luckily their prayers did not go unanswered.

CRASH!

Just then screams are heard followed by a loud crash which forced the pirates to stop their activities. "Starboard side, captain!" The pirate acting as the lookout pointed and the pirates saw that two of their four ships were destroyed with debris and bodies floating around. They looked for the source of what caused it. At first they had thought that it was either the Alliance finally catching up to them or another pirate crew seeking to steal their loots.

Until a huge splash was heard and something big came out of the water, jumping over and ramming into the crow's nest where the lookout pirate was taking him out. The pirates and captured women are shocked to see it was a huge fish with blue and yellow scales with a white underbelly. It had webbed feet, a pair of wings built for swimming and a paddle-like tail. It has yellow eyes and shark-like teeth as a familiar MonTrix can be seen on its chest.

Jack, who is now the Water Wyvern Plesioth, looked down as he jumped and the pirates swore they saw him give a mocking grin before continuing his path and slams down into the third ship whose crew failed to react in time and coudl only scream as they were crushed by the Piscine Wyvern's weight.

The quest was to stop the Sea Wolves pirates who'd been harassing merchant ships and either kill them all or bring the captain in alive. Jack just so happened to witness their recent raid a while back and transformed to Plesioth so he could track them. He was aware that only the main ship had the captured women while rest had the loot.

Naturally he was fine losing the valuables as lives are more important.

"D-Don't just stand there-Fire!" The captain shouted and the crew manning the cannons aims and fired at the Piscine Wyvern. However, Plesioth was in his element and quickly through the slow moving projectiles and began circling the pirate ship. Plesioth then took a depe dive and jumps out like a literal fish out of water, landing on the huge deck. It was big enough to carry him after all. Some pirates rush to stab him with their swords, but there merely bounce off them. One tried to shoot him with a musket only to achieve the same results.

In return, the Piscine Wyvern turns his body sideways and gave them the infamous hip check, sending them flying out of the ship either dead or too injured and causing them to drown. he felt something hard slam into his side causing him to grunt in pain. He glanced to his left to see two pirates attempting to reload a cannon aimed at him. He wasted no time firing a powerful, pressurized water beam that pierces through their bodies like wet tissue paper.

All that's was the Sea Wolves pirates' leader. The Piscine Wyvern focused his attention to him and began walking menacingly towards him. The pirate captain's legs shook as he saw the huge fish creature walking to him and, to the women's disgust, his pants turned a brown color as he pretty much lost his bowels from the fear. "Y-You can have anything I have anything I have here? I have tons of treasured down here, you can even have the women for yourself!" He bargained.

Plesioth spared a quick glance at the captured women before going back to back to the pirate captain. "..... Nah." A dark blue flashes and Plesioth reverts back to Jack, much to the shock of everyone there. "You still gotta pay for your crimes." Jack rushes forward and delivers a right roundhouse kick to the pirate captain's temple, knocking him out.

After completing the quests and earning his rewards, Jack sought an inn to sleep for the night. Since he was very hungry after arriving in Eostia, he ordered a roasted half chicken with potatoes and gravy, fried rice and wine.

Despite living in modern times and his time as a Hunter had passed long afo, Jack would still eat like he was on a big hunt since it was the the memories he had left of his home and brought nostalgia. As he was taking a bite out of a chicken leg, Jack overheard some conversations that are about him.

"Did you guys hear about 'The Monster Shifter'?" A male human wielding a large mace asked.

"You mean the rumors about a boy who can apparently turn into various creatures with a magical item on his hand?" A female human healer said.

"Yeah, I've heard of that guy. Apparently he saved two Dawn Templars who're ambushed by bandits and saved a village by monsters led by a dark elf." A wolfman said scratching his chin.

"But is he friend or foe? For all we know, he could be secretly plotting behind the curtains, while keeping a heroic facade for everyone to see." A female elf commented with suspicion.

"Bah, probably some exaggerated shit people came up with to cope." A halfling scoffed and chugged down her mug.

As the people began to gossip over the mysterious person dubbed as "The Monster Shifter", they didn't notice Jack had a smile on his face as he continued to eat in peace. After finishing his meal, he went up to his room and plopped down on the bed, ready to lend his strength to the people in need tomorrow.

Unbeknownst to him though, two powerful individuals from their respective fortresses had detected his presences and sensed his aura the moment he arrived in Eostia. The question now is who can get to him first.
