I nodded in agreement.

"Yeah. That was a pretty good idea. Me and Akami have the tenacity to lose our stuff sometimes..." I explained.

Gurkinn smiled.

"Now, that you obtained the Mega Necklace, all you have to now is beat me again in order to keep it...Only you'll be mega evolving and using Akami in the battle instead." Korrina said.

I smirked.

"Oh! So you want a round 2, huh?" I said as I teased Korrina.

Korrina chuckled a little.

"Yup! Only Akami will be in it this time..." Korrina replied.

I smirked.

"Okay...But, just so you know, we won't go easy on you and Lucario!" I chuckled mischievously.

"Right back at ya!" Korrina replied.

Gurkinn smiled as he watched.

"Alrighty, then...Shall we head up the slope and have a pokémon battle?" Gurkinn asked.

Me and Korrina nodded.

Gurkinn chuckled a little before we left the Tower of Mastery and walked up the slope.

Once we arrived at our destination, me and Korrina took our positions and called out our pokémon.

Well...Korrina did, but I didn't need to because Akami was already out of his pokéball.

"Alright! Time to mega evolve, Lucario!" Korrina said as she looked over at her Lucario.

Lucario nodded in agreement.

"You guys go first on mega evolving...The reason why I mentioned that, is so me and Akami will know how to activate mega evolution..." I said.

"Oh. So, this is your first time?" Korrina asked.

I nodded even though I already learned about mega evolution.

Unfortunately, my knowledge on mega evolution wasn't at the point to where how can I activate it.

I tried to learn more about how to activate mega evolution but I was asked if I had a Key Stone and so on...

Anyways, back to what I was gonna say to Korrina...

"Yeah. This is a first for me..." I answered as I looked at her.

"Okay, we'll show it to you so you'll know how it works." Korrina replied.

I nodded before Korrina and her Lucario made a distance from each other before Korrina putted two fingers on her Key Stone.

The Key Stone on Korrina's mega glove and the Lucarionite on Lucario's bracelet started to glow.

As I watched, light suddenly emerged from Korrina's Key Stone and enveloped itself around Lucario, transforming it, before the light eventually disappeared.

After the light faded, there stood in Lucario's place was it in mega evolution form.

"Now, this makes it understandable on how mega evolving your pokémon works." I murmured.

After Lucario's mega evolution was complete, Korrina turned to face me and Akami.

"It's your turn now...Let's see how much you've learned by demonstrating to us." Korrina said as she walked over to us.

I looked over at Akami.

"You ready, Akami?" I asked him.

Akami suddenly shook his head before looking away from me.

I can tell by how he acts that something's wrong with him.

I gave Akami a concerned look before I got down to his level.

"Akami? What's wrong? What's the matter?" I asked as I held his paws and looked at his pretty ruby red eyes.

"I...I...I-I don't wanna do this, Jin...I'm scared...I'm really afraid of mega evolving..." Akami said as he started whimpering a little.

I gave him a hug before I started rubbing his back soothingly, as I began to try calming him down.

"Why?" I asked as I kept rubbing Akami's back.

Akami didn't reply as he looked down and buried his face into my chest before hugging me back a little bit tightly.

"Because...I'm afraid that I'll..." Akami began but then trailed off.

"Go berserk? Hurt someone like me or Korrina? Failing at trying to mega evolve?" I asked.

Akami shook his head in response.
