Rock's Ohoy

"I don't think anyone is," I said. "Jasmine, do you think you could go check?"

"Ve?" Jasmine sounded a little annoyed but she did so anyway. I ran over to Amanda the zombie. She was sitting on the little two person bed ramming her hands into the mattress and trying to bury herself in pillows.

"Aammaanddaa," I sang. "oh Ammannddaa! Is anybody hooomme?" she shook her head. I smiled. It was nice having Amanda back well at least her personality was back. Not how she looked. I would definitely say that her back and wight hair, green skin, puffy black eyes, and blood thirsty mouth was not her normal look. And also her ears... they looked almost like dog ears. And the funny thing was that every hour they looked more and more like dog ears.

I was laid down by Amanda. She sniffled.

"Amanda?" I asked. Looking right at me she made a face that I took to mean "What?" in a very grumpy way.

"Can you try acting it out?" I asked. She nodded rapidly. She got up, put her arms by her mouth like a trunk and started to open and close them. She made her fingers curled in like teeth but I couldn't understand the part when she laid on the ground and went under the bed, came back out and started doing her trunk thing and the teeth thing again.

I didn't understand. Nothing she was doing made sense.

"I don't know what your trying to say so I'm just going to go help Jasmine steer—" I tried to say.

Amanda just crawled under the bed and there was silence. I couldn't help wondering what it might be like to be a zombie. Or anything in that case.

I might as well jump over the edge of the boat and pretend to be a mermaid. I couldn't even if I wanted to. But something made things really start to become crazy.

"What the" I heard Jasmine screamed in her Vampiery voice. "What's that crying noise!?!"

"I'll be right back Amanda," I whispered. "I promise."

I scattered to the deck and flinched at the sight of Vampire Jasmine. It was rude but I couldn't help it! She had those glittering fangs that stuck out of her upper lip. Just thinking of them made my blood curl.

"What is it Jasmine?" I asked.

"There was a voice," She mumbled. "It was coming from over there. I don't think it wants visitors."

"What did it say?" I asked.

"I don't know," Jasmine idmeted. "Vut all I do know is that it was crying, and that I'v not going anywhere near it."

"OKay we should help it then." Luna's voice said.

She was behind us looking all Lunaish. She had her 'I'm ready for anything' face on and was caring a bag with some things inside. Of course there were things inside, who would cry a bag with nothing in it?

Then, all of a sudden, I heard it. A whaling sound mixed with a whining sound mixed with a scream.

"What. Was. That?" I asked/whispered.

"What do you vean?" Jasmine asked/whispered.

"It was that noise you described," I answered. "I think."

"Ya," Luna said. "I heard it too."

"You all are pulling vy leg," Jasmine said. "I can tell."

"WE are not!" I yelled in her face.

"Yes you are!" Jasmine yelled even louder.

"I can prove it!" I screamed.

"Oh ya," Jasmine said. "And how do you expect to do that Bella? Huh, huh?"

I smiled and said, "I'll go after it."

"With out me?" Luna asked as we headed for the bedroom.

"No," I said. "If you wanna come you can. But I'm asking Amanda if she'll come just because I don't want her to feel left out."

"Okay," She reapplied. "I'll go get my stuff."

Luna headed back up to deck and Jasmine followed. I could hear them talking about stuff but I didn't know what. They were whispering I think. But why? There was no one out here for miles. I couldn't get the answer into my head that they were trying to keep a secret from me. If I had known then, I would have got into earshot but be out of sight and listen to what the said... No! I would run away and pretend I had never had that thought again.

I went into the small bedroom to find the Zombie Amanda on the ground scribbling on a piece of paper.

Was she trying to write? I thought. Does she remember how?

Amanda was not writing but instead drawing.

"Amanda?" I asked.

She looked up, then frowned. She turned away and crawled under the bed. She looked worried.

"Amanda," I said this time a lot quieter then before. "Wanna come with Luna and me to find a strange voice?"

She crawled out from under the bed and nodded rapidly. She obviously liked that idea. Maybe she had drawn a...

Amanda leaped up and ran right past me, but she  accidentally walked off of. Which made her look like she was fast walking. But honestly, I couldn't watch. Tears were already in my eyes. Two of my best friends were... Monsters!

Nothing I could think off was comforting. In fact, everything I thought of was negative. Were my parents okay? Were Amanda's parents okay? Were Jasmine's parents okay? Were we okay? Were we going to die at such a young age? Was everything going to be okay? How could I answer any of those questions? I couldn't, that's how.

I rummaged through the small dresser, it was a small recede thing with a picture of some stranger that I never new.

Amanda, Luna and Jasmine came into the room. "You ready?" They asked.

"Ya," I answered. "But who's going to stay to watch the boat?"

Everyone looked at Jasmine. She immediately blushed.

"Ve?" She asked in her Vampiery voice.

"Yes you, who else," I said in a mad voice. "You were the one who said we were pulling your leg, so why would you want to come with us in the first place?"

"Ok fine," Jasmine yelled, as she stomped away. "I never wanted to come anyway." She mumbled the last part hoping we wouldn't hear her, at least that's what I thought. We all ran after her and got to a small rock. For the first time I noticed that there were rocks everywhere. But something else cout my attention.

A leak, in the boat! We had rammed into a rock while Jasmine was not steering and no one was steering which meant that we had probably crashed into a rock. But also that our ship was wrecked.

At least we were still on a rock, if we had crashed into a rock underwater, that would have been a different story. All we needed to do was go onto that rock, find some random thing, (who knew what it would be) and ask the thing if they needed help.

We stood by the plank that went to the rock and waited for Jasmine to give the signal.

"ON YOUR VARKS" Jasmine yelled. "GET SET,"

"Jasmine," I asked. "It's not a race okay?"

"GO!"
