I woke up to the sound of sirens, screaming, pounding, and yelling. What was going on? I thought to myself. Was someone trying to steal something? Was a thief in our house? I tried to say something but nothing came out. Had I forgotten to speak? I thought. What was going on! I rushed over to the bathroom. I needed to hide somewhere! As I looked at my reflection I didn't see anything. This confused me very much.

"What just happened," I said aloud. "is this a dream?" I ran into my bedroom expecting to find a note that said something like, "We painted your face to look like a vampire!" or, "We dressed you up, hope you enjoy being a vampire!" But to my despair there was nothing.

I searched everywhere, under my bed, in my dresser, in my closet, on my desk, on top of my fan, and even in my trash can. I searched many more places but there were too many to name! But when I came to my dresser, something extraordinary happened.

I reached over and opened the dresser door. When it was fully open I pushed aside some of my school clothes, and there in front of me, hanging up with all my other clothes was a black outfit with a red inside and a black outside. It had a nice cape that went with it. I decided since I was going to be a vampire for today and who knows after that, I would put it on.

I quickly got undressed and then quickly got into the nice outfit. I was really for breakfast!

Wait! I thought. Mom's going to scream or do something if I go down there and she sees I'm a vampire! In mid air I turned around and started to walk back up the stairs and then back into my likeable room. I immediately sat down on the bed to think.

If I go and pretend I am in my halloween costume and say I bought fake fangs... Then I wouldn't be discovered! I thought.

"I'll do it!" I yelled, punching the air with my fist. I immediately heard a voice say,

"You'll do what sweetheart?" It was mom!!!! Oh no! I hadn't expected mom to hear me! I lived with a family of six but I still thought I had said "I'll do it!" in my mind!

"Oh I was talking to my..." I said. "stuffed animal?"

"Okay..." Mom said, "Well Come eat, you'll be late for school!"

"Okay mom," I said, "by the way I don't know what to wear for school."

"That's fine sweetheart!"

"Thank you!" I screamed with joy! I ran down the stairs and boy was my mom surprised to see me.

"Now that's a costume," My mom said with wide eyes. "Your teacher might not want you to come to class like that!"

"In a Vampire costume? It's fine mom!" I said grupily. "I'm going to be late, can you please drive me there? Mom!!"

"OKay well get in for the picture!" she said. Visa, Perry and my dad Charles came walking down the stairs in their costumes. "Come on!"

"Okay darling!" my dad said running into a post and deciding to sit there.

Once the picture was taken I asked my mom if I could see the picture. She had let Visa, Perry and my dad go while I started behind.

"Ya that's fine!" she said.

I peaked at the camera and gasped. I screamed at what I saw in the camera. I was a vampire in the picture! I had dark black hair, flaming red eyes, pure white skin, and two pointy fangs.

"C-can I go to school now?" I asked in a shaky voice.

"One second..." Mom said. Crash!

"Mooom!!" Visa yelled. "Perry took my bracelet!" I heard laughing probably from Perryl. Then there was stomping on the stairs as Perry came rushing in with a handful of Visa's stuff.

"MOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!" Visa kept yelling! Perry had burst into the bathroom and locked the door behind him.

"Give it back," I heard Visa say to Perry. "That's mine!"

"Perry!" Mom said disappointed in Perry for teasing Visa. Since Perry was older than me and Visa he teased us a bit. "I am very disappointed in you for teasing Visa! Get in the car, both of you! All of you!"

I sighed. I thought this halloween was going to be the best halloween ever! But... it was ending up the other way. First I was a vampire! Second, Perry was still teasing Visa. Theird, I was going to be late for school. And finally I know if I am going to get kicked out of school because I have an inappropriate "costume" on? I don't know.

When I got in the car Perry was trying to fit his chicken costume on. He had been wearing that costume for about four years so it was old. We drove out of our tiny driveway and onto the main road. Then my mom checked her watch... But oh! Right as she looked down, a little tiny flying bat hit the window!

My mom spread up. I honestly don't know why... Maybe it was because of the bat, or maybe it was because of the time (It was 8:57 and school started at 9:00), or maybe both, no one knows. Any way she sped right off the road leaving a trail behind us! Then all of a sudden we were back on the road! What just happened? What? I thought we were just off the road! I thought to myself. How are we on the road now? I didn't have the answer to my question, sadly.

I was so confused but then again it wasn't confusing. I had been off the road and then just got back on it! That was all! I pushed the thought about us going off the road to the back of my head.

After I got a tardy slip from the front office at school, I walked along to my classroom but when I got in the only thing different about all the other halloween we went to school but Amanda was acting strange. First, she had a worried look on. Secondly, she had green face paint all over her buddy. Thirdly, she said she was going to be in a cupcake costume but she was in a zombie nerd costume! Lastly she was sitting in the far back corner of the classroom. But she usually sits next to Jasmine, Luna, or me. And The next thing I knew happened, I was sitting in the principal's office with Amanda.

Amanda had her talk first. I thought I knew why she was having hers until I overheard them talking. I couldn't hear everything they were saying but this is what I could make out.

"I thought I told y... This isn't oka... Green bloody ne... fix it by the... if you're not done then... Happy Halloweeen.... if you can do the thing I asked y... It would be better for your p... Although I think there are those who do... Anything to say for y... self?" Just as he stopped saying this someone burst into the principal's office whaling and running these arms all over the person that schedules the meetings with our principle, and her name is Miss Frumble. Miss Frumble is a vegetarian, has dark black hair, always where's a whistle and everyone respects her. Except that Rude boy that was wiping greenish yellowish stuff on her.

"You are too disgusting for me," Miss Frumbles said red in the face. "You will be going to the principal's office right now! I don't care about throwing people who I scolded. They WILL wait in line and YOU my young lad will go to the principal's office FIRST!!!"

I walked over to the side as Amanda happily skipped to the side. As she did she whispered something in my ear.

"Good old Miss Frumples!"

"Frumbles!" I called after her. She winked at me and skipped away. I wanted to follow her but something told me not to. It was just that... well... it was just that I don't know...It just didn't feel right somehow. I sat back but when I looked at the clouds and the sky and the sun in particular! It felt like it was burning me

I quickly got out of it and headed to the door. I put my hoody on for protection just if the stories were true about vampires dying in the sun.

I sped up trying to find Amanda and tell her the truth... But she was nowhere in sight! I kept my head down as I ran... But suddenly the sky became dark, lightning flashed, thunder boomed, and rain started falling in gallons!

"Why does it alway rain when things are sad!" I shouted angrily. I kicked a stick wich was probably a stupid thing to do asspecily when it's raining because I fell flate on my back!

"UUHHHHGG!!!" I screamed.

"Are you okay," A nice voice said. "Would you like my help getting to the nurse room if you need it?"

"No," I answered rudely. "I don't need help getting TO the nurse or the principal's office, I need help getting AWAY from the nurse and his office."

"Um," The voice said. I wanted to see this person so badly but the rain was pouring too hard I couldn't see anything! "I could um... well are you okay?"

Without thinking I got up without saying a thing and ran down the alleyway. I came to a stop panting dramatically. I guess a vampire can't run so fast, or even as fast as a human! I honestly thought they could go faster at least that's what it said in the stories. But then it said "go" not "walk" and so maybe I could do other things.

I ran to Perrys hidden fort. It was at least big enough for me to try something. Like maybe turning into a bat. Or maybe gliding. I don't know. But I know for one thing, I was going to try!

I ran and jumped and to my surprise nothing happened! I did the same thing trying to push the thought that my teacher was going to be wondering where in the world I was. I tried again and again but nothing happened.

The sky was growing darker every minute I tried to get something out of me, well the vampire me. I finally, after the seventy try, hit myself really hard on a rock and everything went black.

When I opened my eyes again I was still in Micheal's fort but it was way different.

First, everything looked small. Second, it had stopped raining. Theird, it was warm, not cold. Also It was noisey! Lastly, I was feeling like I was going to throw up. But seriously I did!

I tried walking but all that happened was me falling flat on my snout. My snout! I had a snout! What!?! I thought. This makes no sense.. Wait I'm a bat!!! What, how did I turn into a bat? This was so confusing!

I leaped up and hit the ground 'smack' in the face yet again. Typically me. I got up, heaved a great big sigh, and tried again. This time I flapped my wings, and to my surprise, I flew up but immediately I hit the top of Micheal's fort and came crashing down to the ground. I hit it with another "WAM!". I felt like crying, but I knew I couldn't! I tried one last time. I almost hit the top of the fort but I dogged it at the last second! I flew into the sky happy as ever! I flew up into the dark sky. I pushed all my thoughts away and threw the sky. I headed to small tree's dark one's in fact, they looked like a big-

The tree moved. What the! I thought. How does a tree just move?

But then I saw it was no tree! It was a horde of bats! Suddenly I knew what I was going to do. I flue with the bat's and we all went over dark oceans, threw dark caves, and up over a giant volcano. We landed on the edge of a Golden Lake. and longed there for hours. But when I felt an urge in my stomach, I knew I should go home.

I flue out and landed on my house and hung upside down as trick or treater's came up and down my house stairs. This was great! I loved seeing kids come and right as they were about to knock on the door my dad opened it and said:

"Who dares knock on my door?" And all the kids would laugh and say:

"Trick or treat!"

After a while I flew back to school right in time to see people were lining up to make the parade. I quickly dived into the bathroom and ramen into a kid, tumbled into a stall, and got kicked into a trashcan. Wow. Kids can be mean!

I got out of the trashcan dripping wet. I tried to fly but it didn't work! I realized that I was dripping and couldn't fly. I pushed on the door as hard as I could. It was a very smelly bathroom with wet toilet paper on the ceiling. It was soaked with water and the ceiling was peeling. It was so disgusting one couldn't bear to be in it even to go number one!

I thought being a vampire was really hard. And then everything went black!

I opened my eyes again. Whew! I was in the bathroom but everything was back to normal. Except one thing. I was still a vampire.

"Whatever." I said. Oops I didn't mean to say that out loud I thought.

"Hey please," It was a voice a grade higher than mine but still it was nice. "I really have to go!"

"Oh," I yelled. I had no idea he was talking to me! "Sorry! I'm ah... almost done. Huhu." I quickly got out of the bathroom stall. The guy shoved me aside and went into the bathroom stall I had been in. So much for a nice guy. I walked out to find my classmates and Mrs. Lucy passing by.

I quickly dashed into the crowd and we all sang the chacha song.

Cha-cha cha-cha cha-CHA! Cha-cha cha-cha cha-CHA! And so on!

I blended in real well with the crowd though we had to be single because Mrs. Lucy would go mad if we didn't. After the parade I sat down on a bench. I knew that mom would pick me up late because of all the trick-or-treater's she was getting at home. She probably forgot. I sat on that bench for maybe ten-twenty minutes until my mom picked me up.

"So," She said in her sweet voice. "You have a good day at school?"

"Ya." I said because the truth was, I really had a great day at school. After we were in the house, I ran upstairs and grabbed a home phone. I quickly fielded Amanda's number and we chatted. I can't remember what she said but maybe she does. You'll have to see the side of this story to find out. I got changed and plopped done on my bed. I thought about dinner. I hadn't had anything to eat since this morning! Well, I guess that's not too bad. I ran down stairs and ate a mouse which was tasty! Then I went to bed and slept easier than ever.
