A Strange Request
Evelyn walked through the castle, looking for the man from before. She smiled to herself as she looked, using exploring the castle as an excuse to find him.
Timber is briskly walking through the hall, his anger fueling his energy.
Evelyn looks down, purposely positioning herself in front of him so he would bump into her.
He smoothly avoids her and continues walking.
Evelyn smiles, noticing his grace. She turns around. "Excuse me sir."
"You are excused." He continues, not giving her a second glance as he thinks of what Alek had done with Bridgette.
L: (XD)
She frowns slightly before pulling a smile again. "Is there anything I can help you with? You seem bothered."
L: (This is going so hilariously perfect)
"Dont ask me questions." He doesn't even look at her as he walks "I do not need help."
"Oh... of course." She stood in the hallway, watching him leave, her smile gone.
A: (AWWWW I ALMOST FEEL BAD.... But I don't.)
Timber stops suddenly "Wait- actually, I do need you for something..." he turns to face her, a plot running through his head.
She straightens her back, the smile quickly returning. "Yes, whatever you need."
"...." he doesn't question it or care. "Monarch... She has something I need, and I believe you may be able to get it for me."
"I'd love to! But I will of course need you to be more specific." She says, taking care not to question.
L: (It's so hard because I want to just ask but nope)
"Two pieces of the same chalk. She won't give it willingly, so you will have to become friends with her." He smirks and looks away "She's been betrayed enough in her life... She will be fine with yours..."
"That seems like an odd request... I'm not sure of hurting her... I hardly know the girl..." She starts.
"Then I can get it myself, especially if you aren't up for it." He turns sharply and clenches his fists, heading towards the garden.
"Wait! I'd be glad to help!" She smiles, holding her hands together on her chest.
"Good. Get the pieces as soon as possible." He glances at her "Oh, and tell her I can't wait for our marriage." He continues to the garden.
Evelyn sighs. "Right..." she shakes her head, believing that if she was obedient, he could change his mind. She starts skipping off, looking for Monarch.
After a long while of searching she finds Monarch singing to a few animals out in the garden. Timber wasn't around.
She smiles, walking up to her. "You have a lovely voice." Her eyes look at Bri-MONARCH, with a glint of wonder.
L: (XD it's so hard not to write Bridgette)
Monarch screeches and falls over, crawling to the other side of the fountain and scaring away the animals. She looks at who it is and sighs in relief, adjusting her mask "o-oh! I'm so sorry I thought you were someone else..." She jumps up and dusts herself off, hoping not to ruin this dress. "Thank you!"
Evelyn giggles, holding a hand over her mouth. "I didn't mean to disturb you, but I thought that we should get to know each other if we are to spend so much time together."
"Oh! That's a great idea!" She smiles wide and runs over, grabbing Evelyns hands "This is wonderful! No one really wants to be friends with me. They are either forced to, or I talk to them. You're the first person that actually CHOSE to be friends with me!"
A: (Sad, but kinda true.)
She smiles. "You seem nice. I don't see why people wouldn't want to."
Her face turns red as she realizes she is wearing the necklace and her ears are hidden. It saddens her slightly to think that people like her better when she doesn't look herself. "Well... I have my reasons.." she pulls a weary smile.
L: (I knew that she would think that. I totally called it but it's sadly true, until they get to know her)
"I would hope you haven't made any enemies chasing the hand of Alek." She chuckles. "I on the other hand see him better as a friend."
L: (Lol Alek's worry about her looks was taken out on Nixxiom when they met)
"Oh no of course not! In fact, it would be wonderful if you married Alek!" She smiles.
Evelyn laughs. "He's always been so quiet, like a child almost. I prefer the strong, confident type of person."
"Oh he is..." She blushes and smiles thinking about him. "I want a man like that as well. Which is why I chose him." She shakes her head "I-im sorry... am I boring you?"
She smiles, waving a hand. "Not at all. I'm around boring people all the time, you're not one of them." She laughs. "Alek apparently isn't who he used to be. I did find him boring for quite some time. You must have improved him." She winks.
She blushes more and is glad there is a mask on her face "Maybe... I do that to a lot of people..." She thinks of Rose and grabs the heart locket.
"I'd hope you leave the same imprint on me." She curtsies, smiling.
"I don't think I have to," Momarch smiles and looks at Evelyn "You are already so wonderful!"
She blushes lightly. "Thank you! You seem like you are similar to myself."
"I suppose Alek could fall for you then," she winks.
She giggles. "He's the one who refuses."
"He'll grow on you." She smiles and sits on the fountain.
She sits next to her. "Do you live here in Alcor?"
L: (Lol Die in a Fire is the song of Alek and Timber)
A: (OMG Yes.)
She shakes her head, feeling no boundary "Nope! Not even close."
"Oh? Where then?"
"No where important."
She chuckles. "I now know what King Darwin means when he says you're mysterious."
Monarch giggles "Well... the king isn't too fond of me. He would prefer you marry Alek." Her smile falls and she looks away "And I marry that sick fool..."
"Oh... you know him then, your suitor?" Evelyn twiddles her thumbs.
Monarch blinks a few times and shakes her head, remembering to stay in character "O-oh of course not! What makes you say that?"
Evelyn blushes slightly. "Oh! I just figured that because you thought of him so harshly that you must have known him." She smiled.
She winces and looks away "Yeah... well... I don't know him..." She gulps.
She pauses. "He seems charming.. . and I suppose his mask leaves him with the same mystery you have."
"CHARMING?!" Monarch stands up sharply and clenches her fists "THAT FOOL?! CHARMING IS THE LAST THING TO DESCRIBE HIS PATHEIC COWARDLY MIND!" She trembles and her eyes slit, and if her ears weren't hidden they would have pinned back.
Evelyn blushes and leans away, looking down.
She stops and looks at her "O-oh... I'm sorry..." She sits back down and looks away "I'm really sorry... I just uh..." her face turns red and she swallows her anger "Don't like suitors..."
Evelyn looks at her after a moment, a small smile, mostly on her face for politeness. "I-I've been the same before..."
"Oh I scared you didn't I!" She fills with worry "I'm so so sorry! I didn't mean to!"
"It's fine... I scare easily..." she says in a quiet tone.
She looks away "I... I... oh... how can I make it up to you?"
Evelyn thinks for a moment. "I-I'm not sure... but I'd much rather speak inside..." She tells her, hoping that getting into her room would help her find the chalk that the man wanted.
"Alright! If you'd prefer the inside..." Monarch takes her inside and to her room. She sits down with Evelyn. "This is my room!"
"This castle really is quite lovely..." she smiles, looking at her bedding and the window, looking at the balcony and garden that was just outside.
"Yes... I agree..." She smiles and takes the chalk out. She thinks that Evelyn isn't much of a threat because she doesn't even know what the chalk is. She puts the chalk under her pillow.
"Oh is that chalk? Do you draw?" She tilts her head.
"Huh? Oh no no! Mama once tried to teach me, but I'm not good at drawing." She giggles.
"I could draw something for you. I quite enjoy it." She smiles.
"Oh... well..." She gives a crooked smile "Not with that chalk... it's old and... doesn't work well." She laughs slightly "Here, I'll go find some paper and something else to draw with! Then you can draw for me!" Monarch runs out if the room, excited to make a new friend.
Evelyn smiles, taking the chalk from under her pillow, tucking it into the ribbon around her waist. "She won't miss it. I'll buy her some new chalk..."
Then she sits normally, and waits for Monarch's return.
