Jeon Jungkook rested his back on the wall opposite of the council's door. It's almost 8pm in the evening and fewer and fewer number of students walk down the halls, heading home. He needs to see him. Another night of Kim Taehyung not talking to him would definitely leave him sleepless.

Soon enough, the door opened, followed by student leaders chatting and muttering to each other as they all started to leave. Taehyung wasn't the last one out but when he saw Jungkook, he immediately looked away and pretended not to see him.

"Taehyung!" Jungkook called him, voice a little nervous.

The other grabbed a friend and attempted to start a meaningless conversation. But Jungkook was faster and he closed the distance between them, grabbing his arm and pulling him aside. Taehyung tried resisting but all the student leaders are there and he doesn't want to make a scene. Might as well settle this stupid fight they have.

"What?" Taehyung hissed as Jungkook pulled him into a corner.

Jungkook sighed, not letting go of Taehyung's arm. "Let's talk." He finally had the courage to talk without his voice cracking. He gazed at Taehyung's face with his eyes but the other just won't look at him! It made him a little bit frustrated but he let it slip.

"We're already talking." Taehyung hissed, rolling his eyes. Then he looked down at the hand still holding him, shrugging it away. "I won't leave. Let me go."

But Jungkook didn't. He just tightened his hold.

"I'm sorry." he said in a low voice. "I'm sorry if I'm total jerk most of the time. I'm sorry if you think I'm not taking you seriously, Tae."

Taehyung let go a breath as he stared back at Jungkook, totally annoyed. He held out a finger to his face. "Number one, you're a jerk all the time, Jeon Jungkook." then another finger. "And second, I am totally positive that you're not taking me seriously. At all!"

Jungkook sighed, shaking his head. "You know that's not true." he said in a firm voice. "I love you, Taehyung. You know that!"

"I don't know that!" Taehyung shouted, not caring anymore if he's rising his voice. There's almost no one in the building now but them. "I don't feel that, Jungkook! So stop lying to me!"

"I'm not lying to you!"

"You do!" Taehyung shouted as he shoved the other away. "You lie every time you say you're serious with me! You lie every fcking time!"

Jungkook ran his hand through his hair, utterly frustrated. "Then what do you want me to do?!" he shouted back, equally annoyed. "Risk my life for you like what Chanyeol does for Baekhyun? Sneak into your room? Ask for your hand in marriage? What?! Tell me!"

"You know what your problem is?! You think everything is a joke! A big fat joke, Jungkook!" Taehyung shouted, his arm finally free from Jungkook's hold. "You take everything so easy. You don't care about what I would feel! You're so fcking full of yourself and dammit because I'm tired of that!"

Jungkook suddenly felt where this conversation is going and he doesn't like it. He heaved a shaky sigh, gathering his wits. Taehyung is right at some parts. He take everything so easy like life is a big party he just have to attend. He likes having fun, thinking about none but how to be happy and how to get what he wants.

Most of the time, he forgets it's more than that.

"What if I really like you to be like your cousin?" Taehyung said, his voice dropping to a whisper. "What if I want someone who could actually show me how strong he feels? Could you do that? Could you actually risk everything for me?"

For now, Jungkook has nothing to say. He looked down, avoiding Taehyung boring stare. He loves Taehyung. He really does. But sometimes, he thinks if this forbidden love is worth fighting for.

"Just go." Taehyung whispered. "Kris would come to fetch me and you wouldn't want him seeing us like this."

Jungkook looked up. "Taehyung..." he started as he tried to reach for him.

"I don't want a coward." Taehyung muttered, glancing at him painfully. "Because if you'll ask me, I'm willing to do everything for this goddamned relationship."

Maybe he's a real coward. Maybe he doesn't know for now what to do and what to actually feel. But one thing he's definitely sure is that he loves Kim Taehyung more than anything else he has now. He loves him more than his expensive new clothes, shoes and gadgets. He loves him more than his phone and everything else in his damned room.

"No." Jungkook said between gritted teeth. And when Taehyung looked at him with confusion, he took the chance to push him against the wall, pressing their lips together.

Park Chanyeol impatiently taps on the steering wheel of his car. The stereo's blaring with a song he doesn't know and understand but he needs to wait for his cousin though he wants nothing but to read the articles inside that folder he has under his desk.

He found articles about Baekhyun's father last night, all written by his mother. It's a very horrible kind of coincidence and Chanyeol wants to know more. What does her mother know? What was she writing about?

Chanyeol reclined his seat and decided to relax for a while just when he saw two figures step out of the building followed by a few more students hurrying home. It's almost 9 in the evening. College students really live in hell most of the time.

Jungkook and Taehyung aren't holding hands. But they seem to be engrossed in a deep talk. Their faces are serious but Jungkook gives occasional smiles which makes Taehyung smile too despite himself.

"Thank goodness." Chanyeol breathes as he realized they're somehow okay now. At least, he won't deal with Jungkook's pathetic whining anymore.

Chanyeol leaned back but suddenly, he saw a car stop a few steps from his. He frowned, watching, as a tall figure emerged from the driver's side, wearing a long dark coat and boots.

"Damn." Chanyeol hissed under his breath as he recognized Kris, the overly protective cousin who's about to fetch Taehyung now. He knows Kris spotted the couple quick because he stormed fast at them, followed by two tall body guards who's wearing their uniforms.

Chanyeol immediately stepped out of the car. "Just leave," he hissed, still watching. "Just leave Jungkook."

He can't hear them because they're many steps away but Jungkook's once calm face turned to anger and that's when Chanyeol decided he has to butt in. He walked fast towards them dreading another bloody fight. Where are the guards when you need them? Or the professors?

"What did you say?!" came Jungkook's annoyed voice as he stepped towards Kris. He seemed fearless considering Kris is a lot centimeters taller than him.

"That you're a trash." Kris sneered, looking down at him with hate. "So get your filthy hands off my cousin."

Jungkook faked a laugh. "Well damn you!" he shouted and Chanyeol wants to punch him on the face himself. "And I won't listen to you---"

But that's it. Kris already punched him first.

"Jungkook!" Chanyeol shouted, running to them this time. He pulled Kris by his coat and his body guards finally decided to interfere. They pulled Chanyeol away, grabbing his arm and throwing him to the ground. Chanyeol gasped as the cold cement hit him square on the back.

"Kris!" Taehyung screamed as he tried to pull Kris away from Jungkook. But what can he do? He's smaller and weaker and Chanyeol and him can't do nothing but watch Kris throw murderous punches towards Jungkook. The other tried to fight back and he managed a kick to Kris' abdomen.

Chanyeol stepped a body guard on the foot. "Let go!" he shouted, prying his arms away.

"Finish him off!" Kris boomed as he noticed Chanyeol closing in. With that, Chanyeol immediately felt a sharp pang of pain towards his gut.

"I don't know why you won't discuss this with your lab partner." Jongdae muttered, eyeing Baekhyun as they walked down the stairs. It's night and they stayed at the library for a few hours to finish their formal report in Organic Chemistry.

Baekhyun tried to give a smile. "Distillation is easy." he said, looking down. "I don't need his help."

Chen laughed, shaking his head. "You don't like him, do you?" he said, cocking his head to one side.

Oh. You don't have any idea how much I do. Baekhyun thought but he bit his tongue, smiling instead. He clutched the books tighter to his chest and somehow, every mention about Chanyeol makes him go sad.

Seeing Chanyeol like that everyday hurts him more than he could actually tell. It hurts him more than anything else.

But what can he do? He needs to protect him.

Chanyeol won't get hurt if he distance himself from him.

That, he knew.

"Look!" Chen shouted, pointing into the entrance. They heard a loud screech of tires against the asphalt followed by headlights fading off to a distance, leaving. Just leaving.

Baekhyun squinted, following Chen's finger. "What--" and then he gasped as he saw two bodies lying on the ground, just a few steps from the building's door. He and Chen dashed out, screaming for help, hoping the guards would hear them.

Chen threw his bag to the floor and Baekhyun did the same, running towards the body nearest to him. And when he saw his face, he felt his heart crumbling into pieces.

"Chanyeol!" he gasped, holding his face in his hands but gentle enough as if he's afraid he'll break him. "Oh my god! Chanyeol!"

The giant is whimpering in pain, curling to his side, trying to sit up. "I-i can sit," he choked but he'll groan again, his body dropping to the ground. Chanyeol breathes heavily and he can't see clearly from his blotted vision.

"Don't!" Baekhyun stopped him, holding him by the shoulders and pushing him back. "Just don't move, okay? We'll get you some help."

Chanyeol frowned as he squeezed his eyes shut. Blood drips from his lips and he felt gentle fingers wiping them. He took a painful intake of breath, a part of him wanted to recognize the smell of the person sitting beside him, holding him like this.

"I'm f-fine," Chanyeol said, breathless and tired.

Baekhyun wants to smack him hard on the shoulder for lying. "You're not." he said, his own voice rising from nervousness. Chanyeol started moving again and Baekhyun pushed him back easily. "Chanyeol! Stop being so hard headed! Just stay put, okay!?"

Chanyeol tried smiling though it hurts his lips. "You, too." he murmured. "Stay. Don't leave."

Baekhyun paused just when two school guards came into view and Chen started waving his hands in the air, calling their attention.

Byun Baekhyun wanted nothing else but Chanyeol being safe from harm. He thought distance and silence could do the job. He thought he's protecting the one he loves. He thought he's taking Chanyeol and his family out of Kris' and his Father's deadly grasp.

He thought he's saving him.

He only realized now how wrong that is. How wrong everything is.

He doesn't want Chanyeol this way, bleeding and whimpering in pain. And what's worse is that, he knows that inside, he's badly hurting, too.

Baekhyun reached for Chanyeol's hand, squeezing it. "Then listen to me," he said in a firm voice. "Don't move or your wounds will get worse. You might not be able to go up my balcony again."

Chanyeol didn't say anything and he dared to open one eye, gazing up at the most beautiful creature looking down at him. He still pains all over, those body guards beat him up pretty nice.

But he heaved a sigh, a contented one.

"Thought you'll never say that again, Baek."
