The next day, Marinette wakes up and decides to take everyone's  advice.  It is time she spent some time apart from Adrien.  It is not like she needs to talk to him, or get near him.  She can do this. She smiles, heads up the stairs and falls.  

            "Wow, that must have hurt!  Let me help you!"  Adrien says.  He reaches out his hand and helps her to her feet.

            "Yeah, thanks, B-Blondie!"  Marinette says. She grabs her bag and heads into class.  She thinks, goodness I fall just when I decide not to bother him or speak to him anymore. What is with that anyway? 

             "Do not mention it."  Adrien says.  He watches her run and does the same.  He enters the class and sits in his seat.  He thinks, well at least I am on time for a change.  He smiles.

             The class goes well, so does the next one and all the others after this.  Now, at long last the bell rings to signal the close to the school day.  It sure is loud!  Goodness, has it always been so nosy? Adrien wonders.

             Adrien sees Marinette.  He thinks about talking to her, but she walks away. He thinks, wait what was that all about anyway?  He can not stand to have ignore him.  It just bothers him to no end.  Why does she do this?   He thinks that girls are nothing, but trouble.  He begins to understand now why one of his cousins never did get married.  Perhaps, the guy enjoys being a bachelor more because it does not complicate things as much as girls seem to do so.

           Lila takes notice. She smiles. She thinks, Well, it could not hurt now could it?  She goes over to Adrien and sits down beside him.  She taps him gently on the shoulder.

            "Lila?   What you trying to do, give me a heart attack?"  Adrien ask.

          "No, silly!  I was about to say do you want to be my boyfriend?   I do not mean as a fake relationship either because that is to much of a bore.  So, what do you say?"  Lila says.

           Adrien thinks back to all that has taken place.  He decides since he believes he has no chance  with Marinette that it could not hurt to date another girl.  He comes to the conclusion to give this whole dating Lila thing a try.  It is not like if he changes his mind he can not dump her later, right?   He  shakes her hand and says,  "Sure, Lila!  I will be your boyfriend. "  

           Lila smiles, "Good then in that case where would you like to go?" 
       

           "Uh, you mean right now?"  Adrien ask.

         "Obviously, since now is when I am asking."  Lila remarks.

             Adrien thinks is she always this much of a snob?  He dares not to say it to her face though.  He replies, "Sure, now is fine!   How about we go get some food?"  

           "I like the sound of that Adrien!"  Lila gushes. She grabs his hand and the two go out for a meal.

          Meanwhile, Marinette is at home ..

               Marinette thinks, I suppose I should leave Adrien alone for good. Yeah, that is for the best is it not?   She sighs. She rememebers the way it felt to have Adrien return her kiss. Oh, how she longs to stare into his gorgeous green eyes, and let him kiss her.  She thinks, wait?  what?  She blushes.  She decides,so what?   Maybe, I do like him, but he is not into me anymore, right?   

             She sits down and writes this poem:    

            "I wish you were my guy" by Marinette Dupain-Cheng

         Adrien, you and I, 

        am not sure,

     what we are,

      I say,

   as I give

  forth a sigh:

    but I do know

  that I wish you

    were my guy.

      I do  not,

    Know what to say,

     or do,

    to make you stay!

    I do not know,

   how exactly,

   I got

 to feel this

way!

  Adrien,

   I wish

you

were

 my guy!

Marinette finishes the poem, tucks the paper into a desk drawer and dreamy stares at the ceiling.  

     Tikki can tell Marinette is deep in thought. She saw her write a poem and hid it when she got done.  It must be really important that no one else sees it then, Tikki concludes.

   Now, Back to Adrien and Lila....*Author's  note: Gag, pass a barf bag, like yuck!*

       Adrien and Lila go on their date.  They have a good time.  At least  Lila does while Adrien is miserable the entire time. He does not know how to tell Lila he is not  a hundred percent over  Marinette yet.  He needs time to get use to the whole dating thing.  He sighs.  He wonders, what is Marinette up to about now?

      Lila does not notice that Adrien daydreams about another girl.  She just thinks, he is just quiet because he did not pass a test, or quiz.  She also believes it could be stress since there are so many things on his schedule at one time.  

         A few weeks go by with Lila and Adrien dating.  Then, one day Lila throws a curve ball his way so to speak.  "Come on Adrien!  I love you, so why will not go with me?  It is not that bad of idea, is it?"  Lila whines.

          "Lila, it is just  that I do not think I could get away for that long.  Besides, there is no way you could know for sure about love after only a few weeks together. "  Adrien responds.

          Lila twirls her hair.  "I suppose you are right, I will be back just have to go use the bathroom."  Lila says.

        Adrien  remains where he is to wait on her.  As he waits Marinette notices he is alone. She thinks that is strange, why is he all by himself?  She does not say a word.  

         Marinette walks over to him, pulls him close, and whispers, "Miss me, Blondie?"  She smirks and kisses him.  She reasons it is okay, right?   It is not like anyone else will ever find out.  

        Adrien  kisses Marinette back. He enjoys it to much!  He thinks, great what will I tell Lila?  He groans.

           Lila comes by and sees them together!  She is not to happy about it. Not one single bit.  "Adrien Agreste, I go away for ten minutes and you run back to her?  Ugh, you how could you?"  Lila screams at him. 

          "Lila, it is not what you think.  I swear!  I did not kiss her."  Adrien defends himself. 

         "Oh, yeah, then what was it then?"  Lila scoffs.

         "She kissed me!"  Adrien says.

         "Then why did you let her?  What kind of boyfriend are you?  Consider us through."  Lila says.   She is just angry she did not figure it out sooner than he still has his old feelings for Marinette.

         "Wait, Lila!"  Adrien calls out.

            Lila leaves. She leaves as fast as she can.   

               After Lila left, Adrien turns to Marinette and says, in an accusatory tone, "Marinette, how could you?  You knew I was with Lila!  Why did you have to go and kiss me?  Why did you ruin everything? "  

           "Bl-Blondie, please do not be mad!"  Marinette tries to plead with him.

         "Forget whatever it is you were about to say!  I will not hear it you hear?  Lila was my girlfriend until you gave me that kiss while she was busy in the bathroom."  Adrien retorts.

          "I a-am s-sorry, I could not help it."  Marinette mutters.

         "Ugh, just go away!"  Adrien yells. He does not see the tears that she has and runs off angry.

        Later that day, Plagg shakes his head and says, "Boy Adrien , you went and mess up everything!  You know that right?" 

       "What do you mean?  It is all Marinette's fault!  First, she kisses me and makes Lila angry. Then, Lila breaks up with me !  Can you not see that she...Oh no!  I did kiss her back, and I told a lie about it too. What have I done? "  Adrien says.  He has  a look of sadness about him.

     "Oh, only had one girl dump you, chose to yell at your crush about it, and you told her off.  Tsk,tsk! you are fortunate if you do not loose her for good after this Adrien!"  Plagg says.

     "No, I can not.   I can loose Bluebell Gal too!  I still love her Plagg!"  Adrien remarks. He feels all miserable inside and out when it dawns on him what he has done.
