"A letter 'A' was carved deep on her left hand, near to her ring finger.. But what's with the letter A.. what do you think of it Al?" Detective Fred Sullivan asked curiously, as he also moved closely towards the victim's butchered dead body.

Detective Al puts his right hand on his chin, left hand to his elbow, as if thinking deeply about the peculiarity of the murder scene. Then he replied, "Fred, the victim's married, right?"

"Yeah, Officer Owen told me that upon arriving on this place, why?", Fred asked with a curious tone.

"Examine her ring finger carefully.. take a careful look at it.. and you'll get my point.", Detective Al started to bite his index finger's fingernails while thinking deep.

"Shit!! There is a ring mark here on her ring finger but...", Detective Fred paused for awhile and carefully examined the victim's finger. He then continued, "....where is her damn ring? It is missing!", He enthusiastically exclaimed.

"Yeah. That's my point. The wedding ring is missing, yet the apartment was not robbed, nor ruined, nor messed up.. It's just this tortured dead body covered in blood on this bed. That A-mark there that was lacerated deep near her ring finger, is pointing us into something.. something that we don't know YET... something that I believe, would lead us into the killer's motive.", Detective Al confidently uttered.

Detective Fred was amazed so he just spoke something foolish, "Yeah.. that'd be a psychotic motive.. right?" he then grinned sarcastically.

Al took a deep breath, put his hands on his pocket, then instructed Fred, "Fred, take pictures of that marks on her left hand, and of course, the victim's face and body, then after that, I need you to go down and call the FORENSIC TEAM down there, to go now up here. I need blood samples. I need to know whether she was raped or something.. finger prints.. etc."

Detective Fred Sullivan obeyed what Al had instructed him to do. He too pictures, then immediately went down to command the Forensic Team to go up.

Detective Al was left there, standing and staring at the bloody and brutally mutilated victim, with his hands on his pocket. He's just staring blankly, but thinking deep, and thinking sharp about who and what's the motive behind the brutal murder.

There's silence all over the studio-type apartment, but not until Officer Owen broke it.

He's walking so fast and so urgent, moving towards the crime scene. His footsteps was heard all over the place.

"Detective...Detective Al!", he exhaustedly exclaimed, with two cups of coffee on his hands.

Detective Al was curious of the tone of the young officer, so he asked, "Aside for the coffee... anything else important, officer?"

"Yes sir..."

"I'm curious.. Spill it."

"We already traced the location of the man who called 911 and pointed this incident to us, sir!", Officer Owen enthusiastically uttered.

"Where was it officer?", Al curiously asked.

"It's from a unit at Eros Motel.. the landlady confirmed it ..."

"Confirmed that she called..??"

Officer Owen replied with enthusiastic tone, "No sir, she confirmed that it's a number from an occupied unit of the motel, sir."

Upon hearing those substantial information from Officer Owen, Detective Al walked pass through the officer, and walked as fast he could, then with a loud voice he yelled while walking, "Owen, we might need some back up down there.. Come along with us, with a couple of police units along with you and let's see what we'll find there..."

"Right away detective!"

The detective, now with a serious gaze on his face, yet with a shaking hands, pulled a small prescription bottle on his pocket, took one pill and swallowed it.

(fast forward a bit)

Detective Al Mills and Detective Fred, along with a couple of units of back up, drove towards the Eros Motel, with so much puzzle and curiousity playing on their heads.
