Chapter Two

Having maintained the reputation of a very punctual and professional woman, Renelle always arrives at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time to her destinations.

Usually, she goes with her driver; Johnathan but today it was different, the day she has been waiting for; the arrival of her new housemaid.

Even the thought of a new maid made her lips curl up into a small smile. Having the freedom to finally do her job without the constant pressure and trouble from home. Her kids will be well taken care of and as long as that happens she won't mind spending a little bit of money.

Renelle always struggled to find a new maid. Most of the time the agencies fool her, sending inexperienced maids who can barely even make tea.

Renelle kept her calm there and taught those maids everything. But eventually, these maids would ask for more money or would complain that Renelle scolds them a lot and that they weren't even scolded like that by their parents. In Renelle's defence, she only got mad at them for very valid reasons.

But this agency was different, it was the one where Cassandra, the woman who was like a mother to her in her childhood, came from.

Renelle had made sure to specifically ask the agency for Cassandra itself. And she was ecstatic to meet her after a long gap.

A blue pencil skirt and a white button-up shirt adorned her body as she checked her Gucci wristwatch intermittently. Just as she started to grow impatient, here phone in rang. Cutting through the silence with its annoying cry.

"Hello? Is this Mrs Sherph," A very deep voice asked from the other line.

"Yes, who is this?" Mrs Sherph answered back in her casual business tone.

The guy from the other line cleared his throat before introducing himself, "Greetings, Mam. My name is Nelson, and I am from the agency."

"Oh yes, we are waiting outside the station. Are you here yet?" With an impatient glance at her wrist."And it seems like you guys are already seventeen minutes and fifteen seconds late."

"We apologise for the inconvenience, Mam. We had to deal with a small inconvenience on the route and-"

"Of course, of course. All of the agency staff always had to deal with some issues on their way." Renee spoke through gritted teeth, trying to hold it in. "So, please deal with whatever problems you have and get here soon. And next time, try to come fifteen minutes earlier. Then you'll still have time even if you had an issue in between, understood?" Renelle instructed him.

"Yes mam," Nelson obediently replied back.

"Good," Renelle huffed out. She took a deep breath and reminded herself that she was going to meet Cassandra again. She needs to be in a good mood for that.

"But ma-" But before Nelson could complete, Renelle had already hung up.

Nelson sighed from the other line and glanced at the woman who sat there beside him. Taking care of her nails, oblivious to their conversation.

He started back at the phone letting out a deep sigh. This was going to be harder than he thought.

Feeling his stare, Clarice looked up at him and passed him and grinned. Nelson smiled back, forcefully stretching his muscles in the process.

"Is everything alright?"Clarice asked him with a raised eyebrow.

"Of course, why wouldn't it be?" Nelson laughed out nervously as he mentally prayed for her.
