<Johanna's POV>

After the funeral yesterday we all went back to my house into the basement. Nothing much was said but it was good to all be together.

Now I am in my car driving to the tattoo parlor. Then I am going to the hospital for my first check-up on this here baby. I am going to the tattoo parlor to get get a tattoo of one of things Thresh used to always said and also to get some ear piercings.

When I get to the parlor it is completely empty. Good for me. I go to a man and say the quote I want on my wrist. He nods sits me down and gets his supplies. "Ready?" He asks me. I nod.

The tattoo doesn't take long. When he is done my wrist stings. It was worth it though. My wrist now says 'family is your purpose'. I smile "perfect," I say tears threatening to fall. "I would also like some ear piercings," I request.

He nods and leads me to the display case of earrings. I choose one metal bar to go through the top of my right ear. Then I pick out several earrings to line my ears. When he is done he hands me a mirror. On my right ear I have the metal pole at the top and then four piercings going down the side of my ear and two on my ear lobe. On my left ear I just have to four piercings going up the side of my ear and two on my ear lobe. All the earrings are silver. I grin so wide.

I love it. Thresh would have loved it. That's why I got the piercings. Only then do I realize that I am going to be late for my appointment if I don't leave now. I pay the man and the. Jump in my car. Never have I been more nervous. I think I would be better off if I had someone with me so I call up Kat.

"Hello?"

"Hey Kat um I am heading to my first appointment for the baby and I want you to be there so you better be there!" I say trying to sound strong.

"Of coarse I'll meet you there!" She says. I guess she is happy I chose her.

When I arrive at the hospital I see Kat is already standing by the entrance. "Come on we are going to be late! I want to see my niece or nephew a.s.a.p!" I smile. Even though the baby is Gales I am happy I am having a child. We skip into the hospital. Then we sit in the waiting room.

"Kat I'm nervous," I whisper.

"It's going to be fine! I remember when my mom was pregnant with Prim. It is really easy!"

"Okay," I say trusting her judgment.

"Johanna Mason, Dr. Ophelia is ready for you," a nurse comes out and says. Kat gives my head a reassuring squeeze. The. We stand up and follow the nurse into a room.

"Hello Johanna! I am Dr. Ophelia! I will be instructing your check ups. Now who is this you have brought with you?"

"I'm Katniss Everdeen. Her friend," Kat says shaking the doctors hand.

"Are you ready Johanna?" Ophelia asks me.

"Yes I am."

"Please lift your shirt up a little." Then she puts this gel on my belly.

"Oh it cold!"

"Yes it is you will get used to it!" She takes an object that I don't know the name of and rubs in the gel. Then on the monitor I see a peanut shaped object which must be my child. "There's your child," Ophelia says happily. "Now you will be coming in every couple of weeks for check ups and the next check up you will have the option to find out the gender of your child and that concludes our session."

When we finally get to our cars I say goodbye to Kat. There is something I have to do before I go back to our dorm. I get in my car and head to Gales home. I hope he takes this well. This is the day I tell him that I am pregnant with his baby. When I get to his house I see his car in the garage. Okay good he home.

I get out of my car and head to his door. I knock quietly. Gale opens the door. "Jo?"

"Um hi Gale I um need to tell you something."

He looks at me confused. "Okay," he let's me in and we go and sit on his couch in the living room.

"Okay so I have been keeping a secret from you and you are going to be happy... I am pregnant with your baby." He just sits there looking at me is disbelief.

"You're wrong Jo, that night that you came to my house and we had sex we used a condom." When Gale says this my eyes widen. I must have been so blinded by Thresh's death I didn't even notice. Wait if it isn't Gales there is only one other person who I have ever had sex with.

A/N ahhhhhh!!! The baby isn't gales!!!! Jo's baby belongs to the man that she loves. Thresh.
