The Flight
Marinette's POV
A wave of anxiety washed over me. I was becoming very nervous about this trip. Then I remembered something. I'm Ladybug. Paris needs me. If I'm not there, Chat Noir will have to defend Paris on his own.
Adrien's POV
A wave of excitement washed over me. I was very excited about this trip. Then I remembered something. I'm Chat Noir. Paris needs me. If I'm not there, Ladybug will have to defend Paris on her own.
Marinette's POV
I sat next to Adrien waiting to board the plane. I did not want to get on the plane, as I had never been on one, at least that I could remember. Adrien must have noticed that I was nervous.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"Well... I've n-never been on a p-p-plane before as f-far as I-I remember. I'm really n-n-nervous about it," I explained.
"You'll be okay. I've been on a plane before. It's not that bad. You might not like take off or landing, but I'm sure you'll be just fine," Adrien reassured me.
"Th-Thanks. That m-makes me feel a l-l-little better," I thanked him.
Eventually it was time to board the plane. I was getting nervous again. Adrien and I got the first two seats.
"It'll be okay, Mari. I promise. Don't be nervous," Adrien said, trying to comfort me. It was working.
"Y-yeah. I g-guess so," I said.
A little while later, the plane was starting to go down the runway. I instinctively grabbed Adrien's hand and squeezed it as it started picking up speed. He gave me a reassuring smile and didn't seem to mind me pretty much killing his hand. He did wince a little, though.
The plane started to climb into the sky. I felt like I was on a roller coaster. I made the mistake of looking out the window when he finally stopped going up. I saw the ground really far below us. I started to mentally freak out. We were super high. I was afraid that we were gonna crash.
"You doing alright?" Adrien asked.
"We're r-r-really high," I stuttered.
"Yeah, but we'll be okay. Are you afraid of heights?" he asked.
"N-no, b-but like I said e-earlier, I've never b-been in a plane b-before," I replied.
"Oh. I'm glad you're not afraid of heights or else this would be totally different experience for the both of us," Adrien said.
"Heh. I just d-don't want th-the plane to cr-crash," I admitted.
"It is highly unlikely that the plane will crash," Adrien said.
"Y-You probably j-just jinxed it," I joked. I decided that I should probably try to sleep to pass the time so I could get off of this plane and get to the hotel.
"Oh, no!" Adrien said, pretending to be surprised. He put the back of his hand on his forehead dramatically. I laughed.
"I th-think I'm gonna t-take a n-nap," I stammered.
"Okay. Sweet dreams, Mari," Adrien said. Then I closed my eyes and fell asleep soon after.
I woke up to see that Adrien wasn't in his seat. I wondered where he went.
"Where is he?" I asked myself. Then, as if on cue, he came back at sat in his seat.
"You're awake," he noticed. Then I felt my stomach drop. We were going down. I didn't like it. "Do you want some gum so your ears won't pop?"
"S-sure," I said. Adrien grabbed two pieces of gum out of his bag; one for me and one for him. I hesitated and then grabbed the gum. He didn't seem to notice my hesitation. "Th-thanks."
"You're welcome," Adrien said with a smile. I took off the wrapper and slipped the piece of gum in my mouth.
When we landed, I felt much better and safer. I was glad that Adrien was with me. Then I remembered where we were - America. We were gonna go to Cedar Point because it had been changed the day after. They decided that it would be a good idea to send us somewhere different this year. Every year at school, they had the same trip, just different events. They decided to change it up a little.
I was excited to spend time with Adrien. We could get to know each other a little better since we would be hanging out for a whole week.
When we got to Cedar Point after we checked into our hotel, got through the line and into the actual park, I didn't know what to do first. I was mainly wanting to spend time with Adrien.
"I want to ride everything if that's okay with you," Adrien said.
"Um... O-okay. S-sure," I agreed.
When we started to discuss how things were gonna go, I learned that this was gonna be a long day and I was not gonna agree with Adrien. I was in for an adventure.
