The Akuma
Adrien's POV
I wanted to go on every single ride. I decided that we would start off easy since Marinette looked a little nervous.
"Hey, how about we ride... That ride over there," I suggested, pointing to the Matterhorn.
"S-sure. It doesn't look too bad," Marinette replied. We got in line and eventually made our way to front. We sat in seat 15. It was at the top of the hill. Marinette didn't like that. She was sitting on the outside and I was being squished on the inside.
Then the ride started moving. When it started picking up more speed, Marinette grabbed my hand. She squeezed it, but not as much as she had on the plane ride, when she had almost killed my hand.
"Isn't this fun, Mari?" I asked.
"Y-yeah," she replied. She actually looked like she was having fun. She didn't look as nervous anymore. I took that as a good sign.
The ride eventually came to a stop and we got off the ride. Again, we were on a hill. Marinette almost fell walking down, but I caught her. Her face turned a little red. I guessed it was from embarrassment.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm f-fine," Marinette answered.
We headed towards the exit and started walking.
"What should we do next?" I asked.
"W-Well, I don't kn-know about you, but I'm h-hungry," Marinette stammered. I wasn't sure why she always talked like that around me. Was she scared of me? I don't know. It didn't seem like it. Oh, well.
"I'll get us some pizza. Wait here. I'll be right back. What do you want?" I asked.
"I would like a piece of ch-cheese pizza, p-please. Here's some m-money for a souvenir cup. I w-want orange Fanta, please," Marinette replied.
"Okay. I'll get that for you. Be back in a sec," I said, taking the money.
I waited in line for a couple minutes and finally got to front.
"What can I get you, sir?" a tall lady with hazel eyes and blonde hair asked, smiling. She had a British accent. I looked at her name tag. It said Jen. I liked that name.
"I'd like two pieces of pepperoni pizza and one piece of cheese please. I'd also like two souvenir cups," I explained.
"Will that be all?" Jen asked.
"Yes," I answered.
"That will be $36.95. It will be ready in a minute," she said. I got out $37 to pay for the food and drinks. A little while later, she handed me the pizzas.
"What would you like to drink?" Jen asked.
"I'd like orange Fanta and Coke please," I replied. She turned around and filled up each cup. "Here you go. The cost is $36.95."
"This should be enough," I said, handing her the money.
"Thank you, and have a wonderful day here at Cedar Point!" Jen said with a kind smile. I thanked her and took the pizza and drinks to the table Marinette chose to sit at.
"Here's your cheese pizza and your orange Fanta," I said, putting her food and drink in front of her. She thanked me and I sat down and we started eating.
"S-so, what do y-you want to ride next?" Marinette asked.
"I was thinking... The Iron Dragon," I answered.
"O-okay," she replied. She seemed to be going along with whatever I said. I was trying to ease her into the rides. I had been here before, before my mom disappeared. Her and my father had taken me on a family vacation. I rode all of the rides I could. My father was more fun and a lot nicer back then. I was 11 when we went. Now I'm 16, so it was about five years ago that I came here. This would be my second time.
"Are you enjoying yourself?" I asked.
"Y-yeah," Marinette replied. "A-are you?"
"Yep. I'm having fun. I'm glad that I could come. I'm glad that I got to come with you instead of Chloé, or anyone at our school for that matter," I explained. She turned a little red. I guess I was flattering her. I kind of wished that I could see Ladybug again, though.
"Thanks," she said. Then our phones went off. I checked my phone and saw that there was an akuma attack in Paris. Oh, great. Chat Noir couldn't travel all the way across the Alantic Ocean to deal with the akuma attack. Ladybug would have to deal with it on her own.
"Adrien. I need to use the restroom. I'll be back in a few minutes," Marinette said. She stood up walked to restroom, which was right beside us.
Marinette's POV
I walked into the restroom and saw that, surprisingly, no one was around. I opened my purse and Tikki flew out.
"I need to save Paris, but I can't-" I started, but Tikki cut me off.
"Yes, you can. All you have to do is transform and then say 'Tikki, teleport to Paris.' It's easy. You'll be able to teleport there in a couple seconds, purify the akuma, and teleport back," Tikki explained.
"Got it! Tikki, spots on!" I chanted. I transformed into Ladybug. "Tikki, teleport to Paris!"
The next thing I knew, I was standing in an alley way. I looked around the corner and saw the akumatised villain. It had worked. I teleported all the way to Paris.
A couple minutes after I started to fight the villain, I heard a familiar voice behind me.
"Sorry I'm late, M'Lady," Chat Noir apologized.
"It's fine. I was a little late, too," I admitted. Chat kissed my hand. I let him. There was no point in rejecting him. I was starting to like him. Like, a lot more now that I'm in his presence. He looked a little surprised for a second. I knew that he liked me. I liked him back.
"The akuma must be in her necklace! Lucky Charm!" I chanted and I got a...fishing rod? I looked around and the fishing rod and the necklace lit up. I knew what to do. I ran towards Defender, dodging her attacks and cast the line. It hooked on to her necklace and I started reeling it in. It slipped off her head and came flying towards me. I caught it and took it off the hook.
"Cataclysm!" Chat Noir chanted. I threw the necklace to him. He caught in his right hand and it crumpled to dusk. The akuma flew out.
"No more evil-doing for you, little akuma," I said as I opened my yo-yo. I swung it around. "Time to de-evilise!" I caught the akuma in my yo-yo. "Gotcha!" I opened the yo-yo up and the now purified butterfly flew out. "Bye, bye little butterfly." I threw the fishing rod up into the air, chanting my usual catch phrase. "Miraculous Ladybug!"
Pink energy turned everything back to normal and Alya's mom turned back to normal.
"What happened? Where am I?" she asked, confused.
"You were akumatised. Do you need any help?" I asked.
"I think I'll be fine, but thanks," Alya's mom said.
"Pound it!" Chat and I chanted it unison.
"Gotta split. Got places to be. I won't furget about mew, though," Chat Noir said. My Miraculous beeped for the second time. Chat's beeped for the first.
"Wait. I need to talk to you. Like, right now," I said.
"Okay. What is it?" he asked.
"I think that... I think that you're a good partner... A great partner actually... And I'm proud to be your best friend, but... Well... I... Um... I... Uh... Sort of... Um..." I started, but found it hard to finish.
"You... What? I actually want to say something too..." Chat said.
"I like you," we both said at the same time. I blushed. Chat did too. Our Miraculouses beeped. I only had a couple spots left. Chat only had three claws left.
"Gotta go, now. Bug out!" I said and I swung back to alley I'd come from.
Chat Noir's POV
I ran to the alley that I had come from.
"Plagg, teleport to Ohio!" I chanted. I ended up back at Cedar Point right where I started. "Plagg, claws in." I detransformed and ran out of the restroom. I saw Marinette waiting for me.
"So, next ride?" she asked as I came back over.
"Yep. To the Iron Dragon we go!" I replied. This was turning out to be a very interesting day. I was enjoying it.
