He can't tell you his name
Or the fact where he is.
He can't tell you the time,
Or whatever are in that mind of his.

Disoriented they call him,
With a distorted perception of reality,
You suggest them anything and they'll obey,
Without asking much nitty gritty.

The may get sad or violent
At little things you say or do.
Misinterpretation and mood disorders,
Confusions happen without much ado.

It maybe because he's old and senile,
Or because he's recovering from surgery,
He maybe withdrawing from drugs,
But this mind's intentions has no forgery.

May have the amnesia at times,
Not so abrupt like the 'twilight' states,
But delirium we professionals call it as,
A condition most of health care hates.

Delirium : Disorientation and disturbed perception with enhanced suggestibilty, misinterpretations, confusions and mood disorders. They basically have no filter in their minds and delirious patients speak whatever comes to them at the moment without consequence. At most times it's reversible.
