Confronting The Emotion

Edward had always thought that Roy was just a bastard Colonel, who didn't care for anyone but himself. But he saw how the Colonel really could act, outside of work. The man could be gentle, and caring. When Edward awoke the next morning, he was wrapped up in Roy's arms, pulled towards his chest.

He just smiled and looked at the older males face. It was calm, without any lines of stress or panic. Not that the Colonel was usually one to panic, but there's been a few rare moments. He decided he'd stay a bit longer. Usually, Edward would've left the sleeping man alone, but he couldn't do that today.

So, he sighed quietly, a soft smile dancing on his lips, and shut his eyes. A few moments later, the dark haired male slowly opened his eyes, and looked at the golden haired boy in shock.

"You're here still..." He mumbled. Ed just chuckled slightly and nodded.

"Yeah. I decided to stay a little bit longer than I originally planned..." The alchemist trailed off, making the Colonel nod. He pulled the blonde closer to him, nuzzling his head into golden hair. Said blonde smiled and nuzzled his head into Roy's chest.

A few minutes later, Roy got dressed as Ed finished up his shower. The blonde came out of the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist, and Roy tried his hardest not to stare. Instead, he pulled Ed close to him, making the alchemist raise an eye brow.

"Colonel?" He asked softly.

"Shh. Just give me a few minutes Edward...." Roy replied softly. Ed nodded slowly.

"Okay..."
A few days later, Ed walked to Roy's office. He had to end this now. He let it go to far. He let his feelings get in the way of his judgement.

"Welcome back from your mission Edward." Hawkeye greeted, slightly smiling that he returned safely. Ed nodded and looked at her.

"The Colonel here?" He asked. She nodded.

"Yeah." She replied. He nodded again and walked towards the office, and slammed the door open.

"Ah, Fullmetal, nice to see you as short as usual, I was wondering if you could..." He suddenly became quiet due to the face the blonde was making. "Ed? What's wrong?" He asked, worry slipping into his tone of voice. He walked towards the man, and gently, cupped his cheek, and planted a soft kiss on his lips.

"This deal it....I let it get to me. This kiss it-it meant something to me...I'm not asking you to act on it or anything, but...I wanted to tell you.." The boy explained, weakly smiling at the surprised Colonel. When the man didn't respond, Ed let his bangs cover the hurt in his eyes, and sighed.

He knew it. This was the end of it. Their deal, no. Their promise was done. No more late nights at the Colonel's house, or early mornings in his comforting arms. It was gone now. All with one simple action.

"I'm sorry..." He muttered quietly.

"I shouldn't have let this happen. I-I'll be taking my leave now..." The blonde mumbled, hurt finding its way to his voice. As he turned to walk out, a hand grabbed his auto mail hand, and for a minute, he could feel the heat in Roy's hand.

"Ed wait.." The Colonel began.

"Don't apologize." He continued, pulling the boy close. It seemed he's been doing that a lot lately. Ed had thought he was going to be yelled at, or something worse. But, punishment never came. Instead, it was Roy's soft lips, enveloping his, in a gentle -when had the man even been gentle?- kiss. Ed could only blush as he shyly kissed back. This kiss wasn't like the rough one he received in the past. When Roy pulled away, his forehead rested on the blonde's.

"That kiss meant something to me too..."
