Chapter-3 The Shocking Encounter (Part 2)
-Dan's P.O.V-
"Haahh–," I sighed in relief, yet the annoyance in my tone still hasn't disappeared. Glaring at the bloody corpse, 'Do I really have to clean this mess!? AGAIN!?' I asked myself in the mind, feeling agitated.
"*clack-clack-clack-clack.......*"
My eyes widened under the pale mask before I flinched. Shock, disapproval and frustration all mingled in the head, as a single drop of sweat trickled down my right temple. "Tch! This is gonna be troublesome!" irritatingly I uttered, then burst out through the door, leaving it open.
Once outside, I was welcomed to nothing, but forlorn darkness. Turning left, a shade of long, brown pony-tail – swaying from side to side – caught my attention. It was . . . . . , "A girl!?" My eyes narrowed to a frown, in suspicion and disbelief. The clacking of her heels echoed throughout the dark corridor. They were loud and desperate, and never turning back..... She knew what she had gotten herself into . . . . . .
Suddenly, the door of 'that' room made a shrill while it gradually closed by itself. I took a glance at it from the corner of my eyes, then back to the long-haired lady. She had stopped right where she was, daring not to move an inch, and then cautiously turned her head around. Her face had lost all its colors. It was ashen white, as though she had seen a ghost – or even worse; large caramel eyes shedding streams of crystal-clear liquid. The lass merely stared at me into my hidden eyes with dismay. Then realization hit me . . . . .
'I am . . . her PURSUER........'

I turned around, saying prayers to god, and hoped what I'd see wasn't the last thing in my life. My mind was running wild, forcing to grasp ANY possible 'run-away' plan. Despite all that, there I was, frozen like a 'snow-woman' at my spot . . . -_-ll . . . with utter despair. My dewy brown eyes landed on a standing silhouette.
'He is the killer,' a voice rang in my head.
Despite of being a detective, all my courage and enthusiasm were drained merely by the look on his emotionless 'face'. The man huffed before he strode towards me; disturbance in his every step. I gasped in shock before finally able to break free from my trance to run. Although not looking back, my sharp hearing didn't fail to convince me about another pair of shoes hot on my tail.
But a smile curved on my dry lips when the staircase came into view. "Almost!" I breathed, as I quickened my pace. Panting heavily, my legs dragged me down the stairs; eyes full of hope in them when they pin-pointed the large doors at the entrance. However, my bliss didn't last long when suddenly a strong pair of hands grabbed mine...
"N-NO!!!" I yelled as loud as I could, "LET GO OF ME!!!", but he didn't! Instead, I was tossed around –facing him– with my hands still seized in his, in an even tighter grip. "I-ITAI!!!" I shrieked, as the pain stung on my wrists. THAT HURT LIKE HELL!!!
"Where d'ya THINK you're going!?" He whispered in a low tone into my ear while pulling me closer. 'You'll pay for this!' gritting my teeth, I swore in my mind, then, "*SMACK!!!!!*" accidently I slapped his 'faceless' mask away while grappling to set myself free. Immediately, one hand covered his face from exposing his identity, while the other still doing its job. He's such a 'dark horse'.
"Tsk! You troubleso –" Before he could finish, I hustled out from his grasp with all my strength that was left in me; taking my chances. But, GOD, my legs got tangled as I turned to run, making me loose balance and trip over the steps; ended up tumbling all the way down... I was flat on the floor in the middle of the hallway, facing those 'heavenly' doors which I'd aimed for.
My eyelids grew heavier as the limbs felt numb, acting on their own against my will. "A-uh-achk . . ." were the only words . . . , no, the only SOUNDS . . . . . that came from my dry, cranny mouth. 'Damn . . . , j-just . . . . -just a little f-uh . . . further. . .' I thought relentlessly, gazing at the two tall twin-doors, trying to reach out my hand, which, I couldn't. Both my body and soul were screaming out for help; screaming out for my dear life to survive...but FAILED..... My voice didn't come as I'd hoped.
That was the last thing my senses could absorb......before the darkness.........ate me away. . . .
