*Chapter Twelve*
Leave it to Christian's overworking mind to prevent him from enjoying something as simple as sleeping beside his boyfriend. Jeremy fell asleep a few hours ago, Christian made sure to thoroughly wear him out. Christian wanted to make it clear who Jeremy belonged to now. He needed Jeremy to understand that Christian has very possessive tendencies. Christian wants to be his only source of pleasure.
Christian wished to fall asleep beside him but his mind ran rampage in his head. He couldn't close his eyes for more than a few minutes before memories, thoughts, and concerns forced him out of bed. He didn't want his restlessness to wake Jeremy. However, he couldn't bring himself to leave the room completely. He didn't want to leave Jeremy so he stayed close.
He's been trying to sort out his thoughts for what seems like a very long time. His bottle of bourbon has been demolished, he's moved onto his scotch. All he wanted to do is focus on Jeremy. Focus on the boy who makes him happy. However, his mind has other ideas.
First, there's the reoccurring thought of Jeremy's locked memories. Christian knew he would have to compel the memories back sooner rather than later. Jeremy deserves to know who he's getting involved with. Christian figured he should have done it before they got together but whenever he's around the human boy, it's hard to think straight.
The next thing that keeps popping up in his mind is Jeremy's question. The question Christian successfully avoided but knew he would have to answer eventually. "So, you've never been in a relationship?" Eventually, Christian's going to have to tell Jeremy about him.
Christian's eyes looked down at the ring dangling around his neck. The ring that once made him the happiest man in the world but now only reminds him of his greatest sorrows. He dreads the time when he has to tell Jeremy. However, he knows if Jeremy's anything like Elena, he's going to get the truth out of him eventually just like Elena got the truth from Stefan. Christian knew Jeremy wouldn't be able to get the story from somebody else because the only other person who knows the whole story is now dead thanks to his older brother.
Jeremy groans and shifts in his sleep gaining Christian's attention. He hears his breathing slowly quicken along with his heartbeat signaling that he's about to wake up. Christian drowns the rest of his drink before walking over to the bed. He climbs under the covers. Jeremy rolls onto his other side and nuzzles his head into Christian's neck.
"You've been drinking" Jeremy notes smelling the alcohol on him. Christian leans his head into him and covers their bodies with the comforter.
"Go back to sleep" Christian whispers back to him. Jeremy groans and cuddles closer to him.
"I'll be lucky to walk tomorrow" Jeremy moans. Christian smirks smugly.
"If you get some rest, I'll give you a massage" Christian promises him. Jeremy lazily kisses Christian's neck.
"How can I sleep with you making those kinds of promises?" Jeremy whispers already beginning to doze off.
"Something to dream about" Christian whispers. A few moments later Jeremy's breathing settles and his heart rate lowers. Christian doesn't remember falling asleep but he does remember waking up.
Jeremy's found his way onto Christian's chest. His body completely limp on top of Christian's. The sight makes the vampire smirk. He kisses the top of Jeremy's head and rubs his back soothingly. He can feel some tenseness in Jeremy's body, some soreness but Christian knew he could help with that.
His hands slide down Jeremy's side. His hands grip and rub some of the more sore areas. Jeremy moans in his sleep, nuzzling his head against Christian's chest. It isn't until Christian's hands wonder down to his ass and begin to massage it does he wake.
"I could get used to this" Jeremy whispers. Christian smirks and kisses his head again.
"You should probably get up" Christian mutters looking at the clock seeing that it's close to noon. "You're sister won't be happy if she finds you naked in my room"
"She'll have to get over herself" Jeremy whispers. "You're my boyfriend now, I suspect this won't be the last time"
"You suspect right, handsome" Christian tells him.
"Besides, I vaguely remember you promising me a massage" Christian laughs under his breath.
"I did, didn't I?" Christian grins. "Do you want me to make you feel good, baby?" Christian whispers his hands groping his ass firmly. Jeremy groans grinding his hips into Christian's. "So needy" Christian whispers rolling Jeremy onto his back.
"Only for you" Jeremy whispers with a lazy smile. Christian smiles back and hovers over his body. "We went at it for hours last night, how are you not exhausted?" Jeremy groans. "Your stamina is inhuman" Christian chuckles shaking his head.
"You have no idea" Christian whispers to him. Jeremy can sense something in his tone that wakes him up more.
"What's bothering you?" Jeremy asks.
"A lot of things" Christian answers him honestly.
"Anything I can help with?" Jeremy asks looking into his eyes. Christian sighs and doesn't answer right away. He doesn't know how Jeremy is going to react when he tells him when he compels his memories back to him. However, Christian knew he couldn't avoid this. Jeremy deserves to know. He didn't give a fuck if Elena is going to be upset or not.
"Remember" Christian compels him. Jeremy frowns his eyebrows before being bombarded with memories.
He's suddenly thrown back in time to the night of Halloween. He remembers Christian kissing him up against the lockers. Then Elena comes and Christian runs off. A few moments later he's being cornered by an extremely jealous Vicki who bites his neck. He remembers the pain but it doesn't last. Christian appears out of nowhere and rips Vicki off of him. Then he attacks her and rips her heart out.
He remembers being terrified of Christian. Backing away from him when Christian tried to approach him. He remembers the blood covering his arm, the smirk on his lips, the devil in his eyes. It's all replaced with hurt and regret when Jeremy reacts the way he did. Jeremy wanted to say something but Christian leaves at an inhuman pace.
Next thing he knows he's at home, in his room. He remembers being terrified that he's scared Christian off. He remembers coming to the conclusion that Christian was only protecting him, that if he wasn't there Vicki would have killed him. He remembers being torn up about the thought of losing Christian.
Then Christian's in his room and Jeremy is filled with relief. Christian tells him about vampires. About how Jeremy should stay away. How he enjoyed killing Vicki, how he's killed before and he'll kill again. Despite all of that, Jeremy still wants to be with him.
Finally, he remembers Christian talking to him, staring into his eyes and everything went dark.
"What is going on?" Jeremy sits up forcing Christian to climb off of him. "How did you do that?" Jeremy asks.
"It's called compulsion. It's a gift vampires have" Christian explains. "I can make you do anything I want you too, like forgetting that night."
"Why?" Jeremy whispers. "Why would you do that?"
"I didn't want too" Christian told him. "But if it wasn't me it was gonna be one of my brothers. This way, I knew I could bring your memories back"
"Why did it have to be done at all?" Jeremy asked.
"Elena" Christian tells him. "You were pretty torn up about everything that happened. She didn't think you would get over it seeing that you were still grieving over your parents. She didn't want you to carry the burden of knowing. She wanted Stefan to do it but Stefan feeds on animals, not humans. Animal blood makes us weaker, our compulsion doesn't work right. I initially refused but then my brother Damon volunteered and I didn't want him near you"
"So she had you take my memories?" Jeremy growled. "That's not her call to make, that's not her decision."
"I know, listen, I know" Christian grabs Jeremy's face gently. "I did it so I could give you the memories back" Christian explains. "She thought what she was doing was the right thing, I tried to convince her it wasn't."
"Have you ever done it before?" Jeremy asked.
"Compel someone? Yeah, all the time" Christian nods. "Compel you? No" He shakes his head. "That's the only time I have and will unless you ask me too," Christian says.
"But what if one of your brothers or another vampire tries," Jeremy says.
"There's this herb, vervain. It's toxic to vampires. It prevents compulsion" Christian explains to him. "I'll get you some. It's better if you consume it but you can wear it as well. In a bracelet or whatever" Jeremy slowly nods as he takes a moment to sort out his thoughts. "You're taking this fairly well" Christian notes.
"Well, it's what you are and I can't change that" Jeremy shrugs. "I want to be with you. Being a vampire doesn't change that" Christian smiles and pulls him into a kiss. Jeremy pushes him onto his back and straddles his waist. "Is that why you're stamina is so good?" Christian nods.
"I recover a lot faster," He tells him. "I can go a lot longer" Christian flips them over not bothering to hide his strength and speed. Jeremy gasps his eyes widened. Christian smirks and kisses down his throat. "And I can go a lot harder" He growls. Jeremy moans bucking his hips up into Christian's.
"Why'd you stop?" Jeremy whines. Christian smiles and kisses his lips. He knew he could feed him some blood and it would be all good but with how unpredictable Damon is, he didn't want his older brother turning Jeremy into a vampire.
"You need rest," Christian tells him. "Time to recuperate"
"How about that massage?" Jeremy smirks.
"I can do that, Mr. Gilbert" Christian nods. He sits up and turns Jeremy onto his stomach. Jeremy moans as Christian rubs the soreness out of his body.
"So, what now?" Jeremy asks. Christian hums questionably. "With Elena"
"You can either tell her you know or don't" Christian shrugs. "I don't care. I'm just glad you do know," Christian leans down, his lips brushing against Jeremy's ear. "sex will be a lot more fun" Jeremy grins turning his head to kiss Christian. Christian kisses him lightly before sitting up.
"Do you burn in the sun?" Jeremy asks. Christian spent the rest of the day getting him caught up on what's real and what's the myth about vampires and witches. He told him a few things from his past, mainly about his human life with Noah and his life when Katherine came to town. It felt nice being able to be open with Jeremy, not having to hide from him. Maybe Jeremy could help him move on to the point where Christian wouldn't want to wear the golden ring anymore.
