*Chapter Seventeen* {Children of the Damned}
"Don't you have anything better to do than watch me sleep?" Christian grumbles when he notices his older brother standing at the end of his bed.
"Elena's down the hall, she's gonna flip when she sees him here" Damon says grinning. Christian rolls his eyes and sits up. He groans and rubs his face tiredly.
"And I care because?" Christian asks leaning against the headboard. He raises an eyebrow at Damon while Jeremy shifts in his sleep. Christian glances down at him, a small smile appearing on his lips. Damon's smirk turns into a more genuine smile. "What are you doing here?" Christian questions.
"Stefan, Elena and I are working together" Damon wiggles his eyebrows.
"Still on the 'let's free Katherine' bandwagon?" Christian says sarcastically. Damon ignores his tone.
"You know there was a time when you and Katherine were buddy buddy" Damon reminds him.
"That was a long time ago" Christian reminds him. "I've got other priorities."
"Yeah, figured as much" Damon glances at Jeremy. "It'll be fun, might have to go after this Anna chick"
"If it gets to that point, then come talk to me" Christian tells him. Damon nods and goes to leave but Christian stops him. "I love Stefan, he's our brother but something about him and her agreeing to help you doesn't sit well with me... I'd be careful" Christian warns him.
"Duly noted" Damon says before leaving the room. Christian sighs looking down at Jeremy. He grins pushing Damon and his quest to free Katherine to the back to his mind.
He slides back down the bed and presses his chest against Jeremy's back. Christian breathes in his scent and grins. Unable to stop himself, Christian presses his lips against Jeremy's shoulder. He continues to pepper his skin with kisses before Jeremy rolls onto his back and captures Christian's lips with his own.
"Good morning" Christian whispers. Jeremy tiredly opens his eyes. Christian pecked his lips again before sitting on the edge of the bed. Jeremy groans as he stretches his limps.
Christian pulls on some underwear and pants before walking over to his desk. Jeremy's eyes follow him as he walks across the room.
"I should be getting home, Jenna's probably looking for me" Jeremy tells Christian.
"Trying to get rid of me already?" Christian asks smirking at him. Jeremy laughs sitting up.
"I haven't been home in three days, I'll be lucky if I don't get grounded" Jeremy tells him. Although he didn't really sound worried.
"I can come with you, explain to Jenna why you haven't been home" Christian suggests. Jeremy scoffs.
"Yeah, because telling my aunt I've been in my 22 year-old boyfriends bed for the last few days is exactly what Jenna wants to hear" Jeremy say sarcastically.
Christian speeds over to him. He pins Jeremy to the bed and smirks as he listens to Jeremy's heart rate spike.
"I can always compel her to ignore the fact that you've been gone for a few days" He whispers to him. "I can also compel her to overlook us and what we do behind closed doors" He nips at his neck.
"Do you use compulsion for everything?" He asks him.
"The world is a lot easier with it" Christian says lifting his head. "The world is a lot easier with you in it" He flirts. He smirks hearing Jeremy's heart speed up.
Christian rolls onto his back pulling Jeremy on top of him. Jeremy rests his legs on either side of him while dominating the kiss. Christian grins into it while gripping his bare hips.
Christian groans as Jeremy pulls away. He climb off of Christian and searches for his ringing phone. Christian climbs out of bed knowing that moment had ended.
"Who was it?" Christian asks.
"No one important" Jeremy says quickly tossing his phone to the side. Christian looks at him with a suspicious look.
"Don't lie, sweets" Christian warns him.
"They aren't important, that isn't a lie" Jeremy tells him.
"Then who was it?" Christian pestered. Jeremy sighs wishing Christian would simply let it go. "Jeremy" Christian growled.
"It was just Anna" Jeremy tells him. "She called me but obviously I didn't answer."
"Why is she calling you? Why does she even have your number?" Christian snapped.
"I gave her my number before I knew she was a vampire," Jeremy said defending himself. "And I don't know why she's calling me, like I said, she's not important"
Christian walks over and picks up his phone. Jeremy sighs but lets him. Christian opens it and lifts it to his ear listening to the voice mail.
"Hey, it's me again, Anna" Christian rolls his eyes. "Stalker chick an Foosball champion. I'll be at the Grill later, if you want, you know, a rematch or whatever" Anna says before hanging up.
"When did you play Foosball with her?" Christian asks tossing the phone on the bed before he could smash it in his hands.
"When we were friends," Jeremy shrugs.
"She call you before?" Christian asks. Jeremy nods hesitantly. "This ends now" He snapped pulling on a shirt.
"Chris, wait, you said she was older than you and that she was stronger than you-" Jeremy said standing up. He couldn't help but to feel worried. He knew Christian had hothead tendencies and right now wasn't the time to be impulsive.
"I've killed vampires older" Christian tells him. "I'm not Damon or Stefan, I've actually been trained to kill an older vampire. Just because someone is stronger does not mean that they will be able to stop me"
"I just don't think killing her is a good idea" Jeremy shrugs.
"Why? Do you care about her? Are you seeing her behind my back? You seemed pretty close with her at the Grill and then at the dance" Christian growls marching up to him.
"I'm your boyfriend, remember?" Jeremy reminds him. "I want to be with you, not her. I just don't want you to get in over your head. I don't care what happens to her, I care what happens to you"
"Nothing's going to happen to me" Christian says calming down slowly. Jeremy reaches out and grabs his shirt. Christian steps closer to him as Jeremy tugs.
"You're right, because you're not going to go after Anna" Christian raises an eyebrow at him. "Instead, you're going to stay here with me"
"I thought you had to go see Jenna" Christian whisper.
"Jenna can wait" Jeremy tells him before connecting their lips. Christian walks Jeremy backwards and pins him against the wall. Thoughts of going after Anna reluctantly leave his mind and are replaced with Jeremy. "Stay with me" He whispers and Christian gives him a small smile.
"No place I'd rather be" He whispers back. "Get your things, I'll take you home." Jeremy tenses and grips onto Christian's shirt. "Relax" Christian mutters kissing his forehead. "I'm not going anywhere"
Jeremy slowly nods and relaxes. He grabs his things and follows Christian out of the house and towards the car. He parks on the side of the road by the Gilbert house.
"Have you ever met Jenna?" Jeremy asks.
"Not officially" Christian says. Jeremy grins and grabs his hand. Christian kisses the side of his head before following him into the house.
"There you are" Jenna snapped marching up to Jeremy. "You know, a call or text to let me know you're alive would have been nice"
"I apologize for keeping Jeremy, it was completely my fault" Christian says letting Jeremy go and moving closer to her. "Christian Salvatore"
"Of course there's another one" Jenna mutters and Christian smirks. "Wait, what do you mean you were keeping Jeremy?"
"The same way Stefan keeps Elena, I recon" Christian says smirking. Jenna's eyes widened slightly.
"How old are you? You are aware he's only 15, right?" Jenna says.
"When I was his age I was with someone far older than myself" Christian tells her. "I can assure you my intentions for him are far purer than who I was with"
"Oh really?" Jenna says crossing her arms. He shrugs glancing at Jeremy who gives him a smile.
"I could always break up with him and you can watch his grades fall again and watch him get with someone like Vicki" He says reminding her of that train wreck.
"This isn't exactly legal" Jenna points out.
"Why don't you let me deal with the law" Christian suggests. "I don't want to cause trouble, I just want to be with him" Jeremy puts his hand in Christian's. The vampire gives his hand a gentle squeeze.
"I can't believe I'm actually allowing this to happen" Jenna shakes her head.
"More dangerous things happen in the world" Christian shrugs. Jenna simply nods as Jeremy pulls Christian towards the kitchen. "I think she likes me" Christian mutters. Jeremy grins but it falters when he sees Elena and Stefan sitting at the island.
"What are you guys doing?" Jeremy asks. Elena quickly looks over and she notices their linked hands. "Don't start" Jeremy says. Elena sighs looking at Stefan who simply shrugs.
"We're just going through some stuff, feeling sentimental" Elena says not commenting on them holding hands. "Dad had this old family journal from years ago. I thought I'd dig it up"
"Johnathan Gilbert's journal?" Jeremy asks and Elena nods.
"Yeah, what do you know about it?" Elena asks.
"Oh, just how he thought he was surrounded by vampires" Elena's eyes widened not knowing Jeremy knew. "Having my memory erased, not cool"
"I was just-"
"I don't care" Jeremy cuts her off. Elena glares at Christian but he simply winks at her antagonizingly. "I did a history report on it"
"Oh, so where is it now?" Elena asks.
"I gave it to Mr. Saltzman. He wanted to see it" Jeremy told them. Not long after he said that the two of them left. "What exactly are they doing?"
"I don't know, I don't care" Christian says shrugging.
"Were you talking abut Elijah?" Jeremy asks hesitantly. Christian tenses considerably. "Earlier, when you were talking to Jenna. About being with someone older"
Christian closes his eyes and clenches his fists desperately trying to keep in control of himself. So many thoughts flashed through his mind. He thought about Elijah, he thought about Noah and no matter what he did, he couldn't stop.
Until Jeremy wrapped his arms around him from behind. Jeremy held him tightly and kissed his neck. Slowly, Christian relaxed against him. His scent filled his nose and his touch helped keep him grounded.
"No" Christian responds just when Jeremy thought he wasn't going too. "I wasn't talking about... him"
"You don't have to tell me" Jeremy whispers resting his head on Christian's shoulder. Christian waits another few moments before explaining to Jeremy who Noah was and what he had done when Christian was human. Jeremy listened and held onto him tightly.
"I would never do that to you" Christian says turning around. He holds Jeremy's face within his hands. "I will never take advantage of you nor make you do something you don't want too" He promises.
"I'm sorry that happened to you" Jeremy mutters.
"Don't be, it's in the past. Nothing anybody can do about it now" Christian shrugs before kissing his forehead. "What matters is that I'm here with you,"
