*Chapter Nineteen* {Let the Right One In}

*Skipped A Few Good Men and There Goes the Neighborhood... Actually pretty proud of this chapter, turned out better than I thought. Hope y'all like it*

"What the hell happened here?" Christian asks walking into the parlor. The first thing he notices is a shattered window.

"There you are" Stefan says standing up facing him. Christian raises an eyebrow at him. His gaze turns to watch Damon collect things to board up the broken window. "Damon and I were attacked last night by some of the tomb vampires"

"Yeah, well we got one of them" Damon says nodding towards the dead girl. Christian walks over to her and kicks her head so it rolls to the other side. Christian vaguely remembers her. "No thanks to you" Damon mumbles.

"You're both still alive, right?" Christian asks looking at Damon. "You don't need me to be your fucking bodyguard"

"Did they come after you?" Stefan asks and Christian shakes his head.

"I was with Jeremy the whole night"

"I say we go to Pearl's, bust down the door, and annihilate the idiot that attacked us last night" Damon suggests boarding up the window.

"Yeah, and then what?" Stefan asks turning towards him. "We turn to the rest of the house of vampires and say, 'oops, sorry?'"

"I can't believe you made a deal with her" Elena speaks up. Christian turns towards her quickly and rolls his eyes.

"It was more like a helpful exchange of information. And it's not like I had a choice. She's... scary." Damon shrugs.

"You made a deal with them?" Christian asks. Damon gives him a half shrug and small nod. Christian looks back to the dead vampire. "You sure they know that?"

"She's gonna help me get Katherine back" Damon explains. Christian rolls his eyes and goes towards the bar.

"Katherine, Katherine, Katherine" Christian mumbles under his breath. "Will we ever be rid of that fucking whore?" Damon sends him a glare but doesn't say anything to him.

"Damon gets what he wants, as usual. No matter who he hurts in the process" Elena rolls her eyes.

"You don't have to be snarky about it" Damon told her.

"I woke up this morning to learn that all the vampires have been released from the tomb. I've earned snarky" Elena snipped.

"Boo-fucking-hoo" Christian grumbles drowning a drink quickly. "Should have just stayed in bed today"

"How long are you going to blame me for turning your birth mother into a vampire?" Damon asks her.

"I'm not blaming you, Damon. I've accepted the fact that you're a self-serving psychopath with no redeeming qualities" Elena snarked.

"So, it must be like looking in a mirror for you" Christian hummed.

"This isn't being very productive" Stefan says stepping in before the argument could get worse. "We're gonna figure out a way to deal with Pearl and the vampires. Yeah?"

Christian watches Damon leave the room. Stefan glances at Christian and gives him a look. The older brother rolls his eyes, refills his drink and gives the love birds some privacy.

"Call me if you need me, or don't, I don't care" Christian says making his way towards the room.

Once Christian is in his room he sets his drink down and pulls out his phone. He smiles slightly seeing a text from Jeremy. Despite only being apart for a few hours the pair of them missed each other and wanted to see one another again.

After texting Jeremy he scrolls through his contacts. Once he gets to the person he's looking for he presses the call button and lifts it to his ear. He takes another drink from his glass only setting it down when she answered.

"I've been running your club on my own for 5 months and you're only now calling to see how things are going?" Jennifer snapped the moment she answers the phone. Christian chuckles.

"Consider yourself lucky that I'm calling, I haven't talked to Amanda since the 30's" He told her.

"The New York Club?" Jennifer asks and Christian simply hums. "Why are you calling if that's not something you do?"

"Oh, I wanted to give you a heads up" He told her. "I'm coming back for a few days and I'm bringing a guest. I want you to make sure my place is cleaned up and stocked with both food and blood. I also want any of my... regular clientele to be gone"

"That's a lot of business to scare away, boss" Jennifer warns.

"I know, I want them all gone by the weekend" He says sternly.

"Who are you bringing? He must be special if you want me to scare away all your good times" Jennifer says and Christian can hear the smirk on her voice.

"Just get it done" Christian growls before hanging up. He sighs and drowns the drink. Christian puts his phone away and sets his drink down before racing out of his room and towards the Grill.

Once he arrives he smirks finding Jeremy. He orders a drink before approaching his boyfriend. Jeremy instantly grins and leans towards him for a kiss. Christian leads him away from his friends and towards one of the booths in the back corner.

"What are you doing this weekend?" Christian asks before sipping on his drink. Jeremy shrugs sliding into the booth first, Christian trapping him inside. "No plans?" Jeremy shakes his head. "Good, you're coming with me. I'm kidnapping you for a few days"

"You gonna tie me up?" Jeremy asks jokingly. Christian smirks mischievously. He sips on his drink giving Jeremy an eye full of lust. He sets his drink down and sensually rubs his leg.

"Not until we get there" Christian whispers his face coming close to Jeremy's. Jeremy shifts in his seat and Christian smirks loving the affect he has on him.

"Where are we going?" Jeremy whispers.

"Orlando" He tells him.

"Florida?" Jeremy asks and Christian nods. "Wait, isn't one of your clubs down there?" He asks.

"You remembered" Christian grins and Jeremy nods feeling slightly proud of himself. "Yes, one of my clubs is down there. It's a dance club filled with vampires which means you stay by my side the entire time, understand?"

"I got it" Jeremy nods. Christian smirks and kisses his forehead.

"Good. They won't dare come near you as long as you're with me" Christian assures him.

"My own personal knight" Jeremy smirks. Christian grins and grabs his drink taking a sip while staring him down.

"Well, isn't this cute?" Jeremy tenses looking extremely startled as Damon sits across from them. Christian instantly becomes annoyed and rolls his eyes.

"What are you doing?" Christian asks.

"Tomb vampires have Stefan, I need help getting him back" Damon says not bothering to beat around the bush.

"How the fuck did they get him?" Christian asks. Damon shrugs.

"I don't know how, I just know they have him. They're not exactly playing nice either. You have experience killing older vampires, I need your help"

"Fine" Christian says drowning his drink. He then looks at Jeremy. "I'll find you tonight" He says kissing his cheek. Jeremy nods watching the two brother stand up and start to leave.

"Hey" Jeremy says climbing out of the booth. Christian turns back. "I love you" This causes Damon to stop and turn as well. Damon looks between the two of them slightly shocked.

Christian tenses but slowly smiles. He walks back to Jeremy, cups each side of his face and pulls him into a kiss. Jeremy smiles into the kiss placing his hands over Christian's.

"I'll find you tonight" Christian whispers. Jeremy nods kissing him again before letting him go. Christian smiles kissing his forehead feeling rather reluctant to leave but forces himself to turn and follow Damon.

"So, you two-"

"I don't want to talk about it" Christian instantly cuts Damon off.

"Alright" Damon nods. "We need to stop by the school" Damon says disappearing before Christian can argue.

"What the fuck are we doing here, Damon?" Christian asks catching up with his brother fairly easily.

"Adding another player to our team" Damon says walking down the halls. Christian sighs following after him.

"Well, don't you look... alive?" Damon says stopping in front of Alaric knowing fully well he had killed him not long ago yet here he is living and breathing.

"You can't hurt me" Alaric shakes his head.

"Trust me, pal" Christian says from behind Alaric. The teacher whips around to look at him. "We can definitely hurt you"

"Mr. Saltzman, we need your help" Elena says approaching them.

"What are you doing here?" Christian asks but he's ignored. Alaric walks away from them and into his classroom, the others follow him.

"Stefan's in the house. Damon and Christian are vampires. They can't get in. We need you. I would go, but-"

"But your life is valuable." Damon finishes Elena's sentence.

"That's debatable" Christian mutters but he's ignored again.

"Yours, on the other hand..." Damon says shrugging.

"Stefan told me about your ring" Elena says to him.

"What about it?"

"Let me recap" Damon says shifting in his spot. "You tried to kill me. I defended myself. You died. Then, according to my brother, your ring brought you back to life. Am I leaving anything out?"

"Yeah, the part where I try to kill you again, only this time, I don't miss" Alaric snarks.

"I'd like to see you try" Christian growls protectively. Alaric looks at him. "Unlike my brother, when I kill someone, they stay dead"

"You're not helping" Elena snapped and continued to talk before Christian could snap back. "Mr. Saltzman, please, it's Stefan"

"I'm sorry, Elena, but it's not my problem" Alaric shakes his head.

"That's a shame because the woman in charge of the crowd can help you find your wife" Damon bluffs.

"You're lying" Alaric says but it's uncertain.

"Am I? Why don't you ask her for yourself? Coward. Come on, Elena" Damon says walking away.

"Guess that's the cue to leave" Christian says walking with the two of them.

"Alright! Wait, I'll go" Alaric says making Damon smirk in satisfaction. They watch as Alaric pulls out his hunting gear.

"Teacher by day, vampire hunter by night"

"I've you to thank for that" Alaric glares at Damon.

"What are these?" Elena asks. Alaric glances at what she's looking at.

"Those are tranquilizer darts filled with vervain"

"Just get me and Chris in, we'll get Stefan out"

"That's your plan? You're just gonna take them all on yourself?" Elena asks.

"Well, we'll be a little stealthier than that, hopefully" Damon shrugs. Elena reaches for a vervain dart.

"Whoa, what are you doing?" Alaric asks.

"I'm going with you guys" Elena says obviously. Christian rolls his eyes.

"No, no, no, no, no way" Damon shakes his head.

"You need me" Elena says. Christian scoffs obnoxiously.  "I'll get in. You could distract them, and I'll get Stefan out" She explains.

"You'll get yourself killed, you're not going in there" Damon shakes his head.

"I'm going" She says stubbornly.

"So, when you get me in, get out as quickly as you can. Chris and I know how to sneak around where they can't hear us. You'll basically just be in the way"

"Damon, I'm going" Elena says. Damon looks at Christian who shrugs not caring if she went and got herself killed or not.

"Fine, Elena you can drive the getaway car. You're not going in the house"

"You can't stop me" Elena snaps. Christian laughs and shakes his head.

"Two vampires and a grown man" Christian mumbles. "Completely powerless from preventing a teenage, skinny ass girl from entering a house. Got us there, Elena"  Christian says his tone dripping with sarcasm. Elena glares at him.

"It's Stefan we're talking about here" She snapped.

"Oh, is that who we're going after?" Christian asks laughing. "I thought we were trying to rescue the boogeyman"

"Do you always have to be an asshole?" Elena snapped.

"Do you always back to be in the way?" Christian snaps back.

"I don't expect you to understand," Elena says. "You've never loved anyone like I love Stefan, you don't understand"

The next events happened within a split second. So fast that Elena didn't even see it coming. One second, Christian was a few feet in front of her and the next he was on the floor by her feet with his neck snapped.

"Why'd you snap his neck?" Alaric asks.

"He would have killed her" Damon says looking at Elena. "And I wouldn't have been able to stop him" Elena gulps nervously. Her eyes look to Damon as he moves closer to her. "Word of advice, Elena, don't piss Christian off. He has no problem ripping your heart out, he has no problem killing everyone in this entire town. He doesn't care. You piss him off and he will kill you"

"He doesn't understand-"

"He understands more than any of us" Damon says. "It's you who doesn't understand the depth of love Christian has felt before. Don't you ever mention love or lack there of around Christian again because next time, I won't stop him." Damon warns her.
