At the top is a picture of Caitlin btw! She's portrayed by Shailene Woodley :3 The only difference is that she has blue eyes though! And I have added the song 'Angel With a Shotgun' by The Cab as well! It's a great song and I have used my fav Supernatural edit as well (credits for the video goes to 'AngelDove' on YouTube).
Sunrise and Beaches
Waves crashed against the shore, spraying up rays of salt water as they did so. Palm trees gently swayed in a soft breeze as exotic birds filled the air with their clear songs. The slowly fading stars shone down on the tropical island as a couple walked over the beach, their feet kicking up sand and hands intertwined. Their hands were swinging back and forth between them as they laughed and talked and just enjoyed each other's company to the fullest.
They were both walking on bare feet, enjoying the feeling of the warm sand between their toes.
Michael kicked up some sand as he intently listened to Caitlin telling him a childhood story of hers. He hung on her lips, listening intently to every word she spoke. The sun was just starting to rise at the horizon; tinting the sky with brilliant shades of orange and pink and yellow.
They walked in silence for a while, being content with simply being in each other's presence.
Caitlin had placed her head on Michael's shoulder and a smile found its way on the angel's face. He let go of her hand and wrapped his arm around her waist instead, holding her close. Because it was still early, there weren't many people around, and the couple was enjoying that to their fullest.
"I love the sunrise," Caitlin commented, her sparkling eyes fixed on the horizon, "this place is so beautiful."
"Yeah, it is," Michael replied softly, his eyes never leaving the girl at his side. "Not as beautiful as you are though," he found himself saying.
Not too long ago he had shown her one of his favorite places in the entire world. When his father had created this world, the Archangel had spent a lot of time at that place. Yet when she had stood there by his side, watching the breathtaking scenario in front of them he couldn't tear his eyes off her to look at it. All he could see were her sparkling eyes that shone brighter than all the stars combined and her radiant smile that knocked the breath out of him. He had never thought he would ever find a more beautiful view than that place, but when he saw her then - in the light of the setting sun - he realized he had.
A blush rose on Caitlin's cheeks and she looked down at the sand at their feet almost nervously.
Michael stopped walking and placed his free hand under her chin, tilting her face up so he could look her in the eyes. Once their eyes met, he smiled down at her fondly. "I mean it," he told her, giving her a light kiss on her cheek. He brought his mouth to her ear and he could feel a shiver go down her spine once his hot breath tickled the sensitive skin there. "I have been around for a long time," he told her, "yet I have never met anyone who could come even close to compare to you. You're the most beautiful girl I ever laid my eyes on."
Caitlin lightly slapped his chest. "You're so cheesy," she told him with a red face and a radiant smile on her lips.
"Only for you," Michael replied with a hum. His eyes lit up once an idea formed in his head.
Caitlin stared up at him. "Oh no," she said, "I know that face. What have you planned this time?"
The Archangel pulled back from her, placing his hand over his heart and feigning offense. "You hurt my feelings. Don't you trust me?" He spoke, trying desperately to keep a straight face.
After a while of their mini stare contest, laughter bubbled up from his throat. "Don't worry, Caitlin. You will love it." He assured her.
He took her small hands in his own and pulled her into his arms. "Go on a date with me," he whispered, pressing his forehead against hers.
She arched up a single delicate eyebrow. "Right now?"
"Right now."
"Okay," she whispered, breathless from how close they were to each other. Their bodies burned where they touched each other.
Michael smirked and he pulled back. He took her hand and started running, tugging her along with him.
Shrieking slightly, Caitlin went with him. "Where are we going?" She laughed, her long blonde hair whirling all around her face as she was running along the beach of Hawaii together with an Archangel. How quickly life can change, she thought, but I love every second of it.
"I don't know," came the reply. Michael had started laughing as well, "somewhere!"
Caitlin laughed and let him pull her along to wherever they were going.
After a while, they stopped running. They were at an even more desolated part of the beach. They were in a clearing of some sorts, surrounded by tall rocks and palm trees and the ocean itself. This place is good enough, Michael thought to himself.
He turned around to the girl he had pulled along. "Close your eyes. Don't peek," he told her, letting go of her hand.
Caitlin gave him a curious glance but complied with his wish and closed her eyes tightly shut. She could hear the whooshing sound of angel wings, which signaled he had left her, but within a few seconds, she heard the same familiar noise. After a while, she heard his voice. "Open your eyes."
She did as he had said and a small gasp left her mouth. The clearing was completely covered with small lanterns that cast a soft glow on the sand. A red blanket was draped on the sand, somewhere in the middle of the lanterns and Michael was seated on top of it.
The Archangel patted the spot next to him. "Come here," he told her, "let's watch the rest of the sunrise together."
Caitlin smiled brightly, blushing as she went over to him, moving around the lanterns. "You did not have to go through all this trouble for me," she told him, mentioning around them at all the lanterns. But even though she had said that part of her liked him doing all of this for her.
"You're right. I did not have to," Michael replied, his clear eyes sparkling, "but I wanted to."
Her blush deepened when she sat down next to him on the surprisingly soft blanket.
"I also got you something to eat," Michael spoke up, pulling out a paper bag from behind his back.
Caitlin giggled and took the paper bag from him, curiously peeking inside. "What is it?" She asked him.
"They are called malasada's," the Archangel replied. "It finds its origin in Portugal, even though it became a famous Hawaiian delicate. I thought you might like it."
Caitlin took out a malasada and looked at it carefully. She laughed. "It kinda looks like a donut without a hole in it!" She laughed. After her laughter died down, she took a bite of it, her eyes widening slightly once she tasted the cream filling. "Those are surprisingly good," she said, taking another bite of the creamy goodness.
Noticing Michael staring at her, she stopped eating. "Have you ever tried human food?" She wondered aloud.
The angel blinked in surprise. "Not really. No."
Caitlin tilted her head and reached into the paper bag, pulling out another malasada and handing it to him. "Here. Try it," she said.
Michael's eyes had widened slightly and he silently took the malasada from her outstretched hand. He stared down at it skeptically.
Caitlin laughed at his expression. "Just try it! You will never know if you like it or not if you never even tried it!"
Looking between Caitlin and the malasada in his hands, Michael finally took a small bite. His eyes widened drastically when he tasted everything. He could taste every single ingredient, every molecule the malasada was made from. It was overwhelming, to say the least. "This is... something else," he finally said, his senses tingling. Deciding he liked it - it felt somewhat exciting - he took another bite.
Shaking her head, Caitlin finished her own malasada as she watched the sunrise at the horizon. They finished the food and sat close to each other on the blanket.
The waves gently crashed against the shore as they sat there and she put her head on his shoulder, a shiver going down her spine when the morning cold chilled her to the bone.
"Are you cold?" Michael asked, noticing her shiver.
Caitlin nodded and Michael uncurled his large wings from his back. One of his blue wings draped over her shoulder like a warm blanket, wrapping around her and engulfing her in a cocoon of warmth. "Don't worry," he whispered, shuffling closer, "I will keep you warm." He wrapped an arm around her middle and held her close to his side. Caitlin wasn't cold anymore.
"Thank you," Caitlin said out of nowhere.
Michael looked down at her in curiosity.
"Thank you for showing me all of this. It's wonderful, Mic." She said.
Michael arched up his eyebrows. "Mic?" He questioned.
Caitlin blushed deeply. "It's a nickname. I was just trying it out, I can change it if-"
Michael covered her mouth with his hand and shook his head. "It's alright. I like it," he told her with a small smile, his own cheeks tinting slightly.
He tapped his cheek. "There is some cream on your face," he informed her. Just when she was about to wipe it off, Michael had already leaned forward and actually licked it off her cheek. Caitlin shrieked loudly and Michael laughed in amusement, giving her an innocent smile as his eyes sparkled in great amusement upon seeing her reaction.
Caitlin shook her head fondly and wrapped both of her arms around him. They watched the sunrise like that. Even long after the sun had risen, they still sat there, wrapping in each other's arms and exchanging stories with each other.
