Chapter 17

I knocked three times with my heart pounding in my chest. I'm definitely not good at confrontation.

The door opened and Alex took a couple seconds to recognize me in his groggy state before his mouth dropped open in shock. "Abby?"

I took a deep breath, might as well just get it over with.

"I know what happened." He just kept staring at me so I continued. "Isaac told me. I know that you didn't mean to hurt me, that you were just confused and wanted your best friend back. And I know that you didn't explain everything to me because you promised him you wouldn't. And I just wanted you to know that I never hated you and that I forgive you." He keeps staring at me in shock and then opens the door all the way and wraps his arms around me.

"So we're friends again?"

"Yes." I laughed. "Just friends though."

"Of course." He chuckled and I sighed to myself. It's good to have Alex back as a friend. "Now if you don't mind I'm going to go back to bed because I have a serious hangover."

I laughed and he closed the door.

"Hey Abby." I heard someone call behind me. I turned to see what I assumed to be Eli coming towards me because of the loudness. "Good morning beautiful." He smirked at me.

"Oh brother."

"I think of you more as a soul mate than sister."

"Wow. Okay, well bye."

"Wait!" He grabbed my arm and stopped me from walking away. "Just give me a chance."

"How old are you?"

"Almost 15."

"Yeah, no thanks." He sighed

"Fine, for now. I will encapture your heart soon though."

"Oh great." I continued walking down the hall towards Chris' room.

"You can't resist these guns!" He yelled as I was walking away.

I knocked loudly then just walked in.

"Hey!" I practically yelled.

"If you don't shut up I will smash your face in."

"Oh come on lazy, get up."

"Abby, I will hurt you." He rolled over and put his face into his pillow with a grimace.

"Alright, alright Mr. Grumpy Pants." I pouted and walked out, slamming the door behind me. I heard him yell something at me but I ignored it.

As I was going downstairs my phone started buzzing in my pocket.

"Hello?"

"What are you doing tomorrow?" It was Isaac. After we had had our little picnic date thing by the dock we had walked back to Tommy's house and he had driven me home. None of the boys were back yet so I wasn't questioned about why I was out with Isaac.

"Nothing I think, why?"

"Because I'm taking you out for our official first second date."

"Official first second?"

"Yeah. Last night didn't count as our official first date because nothing was planned. So tomorrow will be our first official date but technically the second."

"That's very confusing."

"Yes, yes it is. Just go with it though."

"Alright. What am I supposed to wear?"

"Something comfortable and easy to walk around in."

"Okay." I said slowly. "What time?"

"Around lunch."

"Alright. Where are we going?" He laughed like what I just said was super funny.

"I'm not telling you."

"I figured."

"You figured right."

"So around lunch?"

"Yep. See you then."

"Bye."

"Bye Abby." The line clicked dead and I leaned against the wall. I'm going on an official first second date with Isaac tomorrow.

~°~°~°~°~°~

"So you're going on a date with Isaac today right?" Of course he would tell Alex.

"Yeah, in about ten minutes."

"Where are you going?"

"I have no idea."

"Well you look really nice."

"Thanks." Alex and I were sitting in my room as I surveyed my outfit for the thousandth time.

I was wearing jean shorts, a gray tank top with an owl on it, a light purpleish tan sweater, and white crochet toms. My hair was down and natural. I grabbed my aviators and put them on top of my head before grabbing my small purse that had my phone and some money in it.

"Like really, really nice."

I rolled my eyes. "You're just as bad as Eli."

"I'm just stating the obvious." Alex said with a shrug of his shoulders.

I punched his arm as we walked down the stairs. "Well I hope you're not lying just for my benefit."

"Me? No." He scoffed mockingly and I punched him again. "You punch like a girl."

"I am a girl."

"That just proves my point even further."

"Wow."

"Woah! Finally ready for me to take you out babe because I'm ready." Eli said as I walked into the kitchen.

"Sorry Eli but I already asked." I didn't even hear Isaac come in but he wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

"Lucky." Eli stuck his tounge out at Isaac.

"Don't be childish." Josey chastised Eli

"Ready to go?" Isaac asked me laughing

"Yeah." We went out to his car and I climbed into the passenger seat.

"So where are we going?" I tried

"I'm not going to tell you no matter how many times you ask." He glanced over at me from the road.

"Fine." I huffed and crossed my arms over my chest.

"Oh don't be like that." When I didn't answer him he continued. "I already gave you a hint."

"You did not!"

"Yes I did. I said yesterday to wear something comfortable to walk around in."

"That doesn't count."

"Yes it does."

"It does not!"

"Does too."

"Stop it."

"Stop what."

"It."

"What's it?"

"What's what?"

"What?"

"Ha! I win." We were at a red light so he turned to stare at me.

"That wasn't fair."

"It was completely fair." I stuck my tongue out at him and he sighed, turning back to the road.

"Has anyone told you you're incredibly adorable?"

"No, I don't think so." I tapped my finger on my chin and pretended to think about it.

"Well you are." We both laughed as Isaac turned onto a different road.

I recognized where we were going. "Are we going to London?"

"Maybe."

"Ha! I got it right."

"Well you don't know where we're going in London. And not just London."

"Boo."

"But we are going sightseeing."

"Really?!" I lit up and started bouncing up and down in my seat.

"Yeah, though it'll be romantic."

"Where are we starting?"

"Buckingham Palace."

"Are you serious?"

"Completely serious. You are about to embark on a an all out English adventure."

"Oo fun." As I said that I looked out and saw it, Buckingham Palace.

It was huge and beautiful and just wow. There's no other words to describe it.

We got out of the car and walked along the gate to the front. The gaurds in the red uniforms with the fuzzy tall black hats were standing there and Isaac went up to one of them.

"It's really fun to get them to move. It never works though." I watched as he jumped around and challenged the guard to a staring contest (which he lost) and did a bunch of funny things. The guard never moved an inch, though I was almost on the ground laughing on multiple occasions.

"Where to next?"

"That's a surprise."

"Can I have a hint?"

"It's in the same city we're in now."

"London?"

"Yep." That could be a hundred different places.

Even as we pulled up to another castle-looking thing I had no idea where we were.

We got out of the car and Isaac spread his hands wide. "Welcome to The Palace of Westminster."

"Wow." It was beautiful like Buckingham Palace but more rustic looking.

"There's a really good sandwich shop a couple blocks this way. Want to take a walk?"

"Sure." I wrapped my hand around his and we walked down the street.

We went to the sandwich shop and Isaac was right, it was really good. After that we went next door and got some ice cream and ate it by a beautiful fountain.

"You know what would be absolutely hilarious?" Isaac asked once we had finished our ice cream with a mischievous look on his face.

"What...?" I asked very slowly

"This." He put his hand in the water and splashed me with it.

"Isaac!" He got up and ran to the other side of the fountain. He slowed to a stop and put his hand in the water again.

"Don't come any closer." I raised my hands in defense as he shook his hand off and stalked toward me.

"What are you doing?" I spoke too late as Isaac wiped his hand on my face that was still wet.

"That." He said with a smirk

"And this." He added wrapping both arms around me. For a moment I thought he was going to kiss me so I pulled away slightly.

"Isaac we're in public."

"Right. There will be plenty of that later." I caught the wink he gave me and rolled my eyes.

Boys.

~°~°~°~°~°~

After Westminster Palace we went to see Big Ben and it was amazing.

We then drove over the Tower Bridge as it was getting dark so all the lights were lit up.

"And that's the River Thames?"

"Yup."

"Wow." We even got to stop and watch the bridge raise up for a passing boat.

"This is amazing. Thank you for taking me to all these places Isaac."

"It's not over yet."

"What do you mean?"

"You'll see." I definitely did see as we pulled up to the London Eye.

"Are we going on it?"

"Of course." An anxiety started building up in my chest as I looked at how high the giant ferris wheel was. It quickly dissipated though when Isaac grabbed my hand and led me to the front of the line.

"Why are we cutting in front of all these people?" I whispered

"Because I booked ahead." I had no idea what that meant so I just stayed close to Isaac as he talked to the man running the ticket booth.

"Reservation for Crawford."

"Ah yes Mr. Crawford, right this way."

"Your last name is Crawford?"

"Yup. Isaac Michael Crawford."

"That's a nice name."

"Thanks." He chuckled

The man that was running the ticket booth led us to the first capsule of the London Eye and opened the door for us to go on.

Isaac helped me through the door and I gasped at what I saw.

There was a wooden oval table in the middle where I guess people riding in the capsule would normally sit, but in this capsule it was decorated elegantly like a table at a five star restaurant.

There was a picnic basket on top of the table as well as a candle. Pillows were on the floor around the table like seats and there was a radio in the corner.

"Do you like it?" Isaac asked from behind me.

"I love it." I said in a small voice, I couldn't look away in fear that it would disappear.

Isaac thanked the man and the capsule door shut. We went over and looked out the window (which was pretty much the wall) and Isaac stood next to me.

"I didn't know if you like romantic stuff or traditional stuff or exotic stuff so I just kind of put it all in one."

"I love it Isaac, thank you."

"Your welcome."

We ate dinner which was chicken parmesan with a delicious dinner roll. The desserts were some of those danish things but homemade by Isaac's mother.

"These are even more amazing than the ones we had before."

"I told you she was good." He smiled at me and turned the radio on, soft music played and I couldn't help but smile.

"Dance with me?" Isaac asked sheepishly

"Of course." He got up and helped me off the floor before wrapping his arms around my waist and swaying to the beat of the music.

We were silent for a long time before I finally spoke up.

"Isaac this is amazing."

"Not as amazing as you, you deserve the world."

I looked up from where my head had been resting on his shoulder. "Do you really mean that?"

"With all of my heart. I've only spent the day with you Abby and I think I've fallen even more hopelessly in love with you, if that's even possible." He let go of me and we walked over to the windows again. We were at the top now so I could see all of the beautiful London lights below us.

Isaac wrapped his arms around my waist while standing behind me and rested his head on my shoulder.

"I'm just scared."

"Of what?"

"Almost everyone I've ever loved other than my two best friends back at home have died."

"Abby you have nothing to worry about." Was that true? Do I really have nothing to worry about? I really like Isaac but I just don't want to end up heartbroken.

"I'm going to be here with you whether you like it or not and I'm going to love you forever."

I turned around in his arms and looked into his exotic, beautiful green eyes.

"Promise?"

"I promise Abby. I love you." He ducked down and kissed my lips softly. This was different than Alex or even Danny. This was love and I wanted it to last forever.

I pulled away long enough to whisper, "I love you too Isaac."

And I meant it.

He kissed me again with more passion this time and I felt my knees go weak. The butterflies in my stomach were too much to handle as I felt his hands on the small of my back. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to me, as close as we could get.

His lips were moving slow against mine, agonizingly slow, but still just right.

I loved Isaac. He loved me. I found someone who loved me for me and not anyone else. Who called me beautiful and adorable and actually meant it.

"Abby?" Isaac pulled away gently and went down on one knee.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

"Hmm. Let me think about it."

"You better think quickly." Isaac laughed as he stood back up. "Because I only booked this for an hour and a half."

"Well in that case, yes." He smiled so wide I thought he was going to burst and then smashed his lips against mine and ran his fingers through my hair. His hands trailed down my arms and back down to the small of my back.

"I love you Isaac." I breathed against his lips.

"I love you too Abby." He said back
