Stella Gilbert's Diary

   Dear diary,

              It's been months since mom and dad passed. Everything's changed. Elena doesn't seem to accept the fact that she's not okay. She wants people to believe that she's okay and I think that if she fools people she'll be able to fool herself. I wish she would understand that that's not how it works. Jeremy on the other hand has found an escape but it isn't a good one. He's gone to drugs and alcohol. As much as I don't like it I have to accept that that's how he's copping and he'll find his way eventually. I don't wanna hide my feelings. I wanna start fresh and new. I just hope this will go as good as I planned. 

Stella's P.O.V.

            I shut my diary closed and make my way downstairs to the kitchen. As I walk in I notice my favorite aunt running around the kitchen like a mad man. I also see Elena staring at herself in the mirror. God I wish she would open up to people.

"Toast. I can make toast." Aunt Jenna says while looking around in fridge desperately.

"It's all about the coffee Aunt Jenna." Elena says with an exhausted sigh while pouring herself some coffee. That's when I decided to make sure people knew I was there.

"Is there coffee?" I say with my eyes glued on the coffee pot clearly knowing the answer to my own question.

"It's your first day of school and I'm totally unprepared." Aunt Jenna says sadly as I steal Elena's cup of coffee. Elena then looks at me with annoyance and I playfully stick my tongue out at her but feel the cup of coffee being carefully tugged away from my hands. I turn around to see Jeremy taking the cup that I stole. It's now my turn to look at him with annoyance.

"Lunch money?" Aunt Jenna kindly asks while holding out three pairs of five dollar bills.

"I'm okay" Elena and I say at the same time while shaking our heads. It's a twin thing. Jeremy on the other hand took all the money that Aunt Jenna was holding out for all of us.

"Anything else. My number two pencil?" Aunt Jenna jokingly says. "What else am I missing?" she says looking up from her purse.

"Don't you have a presentation today?" Elena nicely reminds her.

"Yea I'm meeting with my thesis adviser at...now crap." Aunt Jenna replies while taking her strawberry blonde hair out of its bun.

"Go we'll be fine." Elena tells Aunt Jenna reassuringly. Jenna looks at Elena and that at me as if asking if we truly will be ok. I simply nodded while smiling at the best aunt anyone could ever ask for. She then nods back and makes her way out the door.

~Le time skip~

I decided that I wasn't gonna ride with Bonnie and Elena. That lead me to taking my moms old car that Elena couldn't handle being in. I loved to be in the car, it felt like she was there with me. It's goofy I know.

~Le time skip (again)~

I notice Elena and Bonnie at Bonnie's locker and decide to make my way over. As soon I get there I see Elena wave at Matt and he slams his locker shut while glaring at her but as soon as I wave he smiles and waves back then walks away. Elena turns around and looks at Bonnie clearly deciding to ignore me.

"He hates me." Elena says with a sad sigh.

"That's not true." Bonnie says reassuringly.

"That's not hate. That's you dumped me but I'm too cool to show it but secretly I'm listening to Era's supplies greatest hits." I kindly say. Elena was about to say something but she was interrupted by a perky blonde who came running up to us.

"Elena..Stella oh my god. How are you?" Caroline asks while squeezing the life out of Elena. I was laughing to myself when suddenly I was pulled into a bone crushing hug.

"It's so good to see you two." Caroline says while pulling away and looking at Elena and I.

"How are they? Are they good?" she asks Bonnie while fidgeting with her hands forgetting we were right there.

"Caroline I'm right here and I'm fine thank you." Elena answers while nodding her head and smiling. Caroline then looks at me waiting for my answer. 

My eyes widen as I realize that someone actually wants me to talk. "Oh well...I'm moving on and I feel happy....ya know?" Caroline looks at me smiling at my honest answer. Caroline hugs me once more and pulls away smiling at me.

"Ok.. see you guys later?" she asks smiling. While Elena and Bonnie put on a fake smile.

"See ya later Care." I respond with a true smile. Caroline then walks away with a big smile on her face.
