Chapter 1: Summer
**A.N.** I own none of the pictures shown. They all belong to the people who took or created them. I take no creadit for them. And the first few chapters are quite boring, but it gets a lot better later on. All stories start pretty boring so please keep reading.
The whole class coils in their seats. The teacher seems to not notice, but her instincts are on high alert considering we're five minutes away from summer vacation.
"Ahh, ahh, ahh." She says in a sweet voice, turning the course of what she was saying. "The bell does not dismiss you, I do." I roll my eyes at the irritating reference.
She gives us all a hard and sturdy look then goes back to teaching. I see a kid look at his watch then starts counting down. The rest of the class adds in. When we finally get to one, the bell rings.
RIIIIIIIIIIIING! Screams erupt from the crowd of one thousand three hundred and fifty-four highschool students. We run and shove out the door as the teacher studders a warning. I grab my bag as quick as I can and run to my friend's car. I hop in panting deeply for breath.
"Ready?" My friend, Abriella, asks from the back seat.
"Ready." My other friend, Amber, and I say at the same time excitedly. Amber is the only one who can drive of us three. When starts the car, we all emediately roll down our windows. We pass the beach and I scream.
"Summer!" I shout to the sea.
"You're nuts, Kena." Amber exclaims.
"Thanks." I say sitting back down. When I do, Abriella goes to do the same thing I did in the back. I see Amber roll her eyes in, the friendly way as she does it too. I laugh.
"I can't wait to do this every single day!" I say. It's summer now. In August I get my drivers license so I can drive myself to the beach, the movies and to my friends house of course. It's silent for a bit do I decide to look out the window.
I see a huge splash emerge from the water. "Guys! Did you see that?" I ask, practically yelling.
"See what, Kena?" Amber asks looking over at me for a second.
"Tha-that splash!" I stammer the words through a gaping mouth.
"You're talking crazy. There was nothing out there." Amber says.
"You've gotta be kidding me, guys. That splash was huge! How did you not see it?" I interegate. "Or at least hear it?"
"Don't know. Maybe you imagined it." Amber claims.
"Could've been a shark catching a fish." Abriella states matter-of-factly.
"Yeah, right. Sharks this close to shore, no way. You're the ones loosing it." I say pointing at them. We laugh at our goofy argument. After that we exchange many looks, thoughts and opinions on different subjects, none including the splash I saw.
I look out my window hoping to see it again. Farther away at the beach, there is no sign of life. Only seaweed, shells, trees and bird prints. "Hey, can you stop the car real fast?" I ask Amber.
"Sure, here?" She asks, looking out my window. I nod. She sighs and stops the car. She unlocks the doors, "We're coming with you." Is all she says.
