Prologue
Y/N started to wake up as he heard someone walk past his cell. He rubbed his eyelids as he sat straight up on his bunk. He let out a short yawn, before hopping off his bunk and making his way to the cell doors. He looked through the small window to see if the guards were walking over to his cell, but apparently the guards wanted to pay a visit to another inmate. He didn't mind about that much, because it wouldn't be another time when they would just walk past his cell.
He shrugged his shoulders, as he made his way back onto his bunk. Sometimes, he couldn't believe it were two years since he and his friends were betrayed by the man that they thought they could trust. He and his friends and fellow mercenaries Echo, Emil and Erza and their newest member Gregor, who was a member of their group just for a month, before he betrayed them and gave them to the group of bandits who were hunting them down for a while now.
He and his friends were held captive by the bandits for a few long weeks. All of them were tortured to the point where Echo, Emil and Erza died of their wounds and Y/N was forced to watch his friends, who were like a family to him die, because of one mistake. Y/N would probably join them as well, if it wasn't for Michelle. One of the bandits, who actually had enough of what was happening to them and decided to free Y/N. The woman killed people who were torturing Y/N and his friends and ran off with him in the ship they've stolen from them during the escape.
At first, Y/N was grateful to be alive but as the time passed, he started to have his doubts if saving him was actually a good idea. Michelle had moved on, and had a good life with a new crew, despise her former companions hunting her down for her betrayal. He stood up from his bunk, once again to see if there wasn't any guards guarding his cell. Fortunely for him, there wasn't any so, he quickly made his way back onto his bunk and pulled two sheets of paper out of his boot. Those were the only things he had left after his friends. He wished also had a photo of his mom and dad, but the bandits burned it down right in front of him, as a form of torture.
At first, he looked at the older photo, which was showing him and his friends, just a day before they formed their group. All of them wore happy expression on their faces, as the family they were. Y/N was standing in the middle of the photo, with his hands wrapped around Erza and Echo. The next photo was showing, them, on the day when Gregor joined them. YN and his friends big smiles on their faces, as if they didn't know what was going to happen to them. He couldn't see Gregor's face, because he ripped it out, a day after Michelle saved him.
"I miss you all." Y/N thought to himself, as he hid the photo back in his boot. Perharps Echo, Emil and Erza would be still alive, he wouldn't be in this prison, and he wouldn't had to cover most of his body, including his face which was covered by a mask to hide the scars he had from that incident, If they only didn't Gregor let join their crew, then there was a knock on the doors. He quickly hid the picture back into his boot as the five guards came in and lifted him up from his bunk, which took him by suprise. The guards never walked into his cell, they even barely talked to him. The only time when they talked to him was when some of them wanted him to talk about his past because they wanted to learn more about him, but Y/N refused to do it and the only thing he told them that it was none of your business, since then they barely even they barely were paying attention to him. Holding his wrists tightly, they pulled them behind Dragan and tied them together tightly so Y/N wouldn't try to escape.
"You better try not to squir, prisoner." The order was loud, right next to Y/N's ear as they lead him out of the cell, entering a large corridor with a grand door at the end of it.
It looked familiar to him. He knew where they were leading him. They were leading him to the throne room of The High Priestess, where they took him a week ago when they caught him after the robbery. The immense doors opened slowly as he approached it at a steady pace. Steps could be heard in the throne room as he entered it. He also could hear some whispering, which stopped when he came into the view of everyone in the room
"With all due respect, we never agreed to take someone else with us." An unknown voice broke the silence.
"It's not up for debate. We need him off this planet. He is a wanted man who should be placed where he belongs" The new voice that Y/N recognized as the voice of The High Priestess said.
Y/N turned his attention to the source of the unknown voice him, because he wanted to know with who The High Priestess was talking to. He saw a group mixed species. He only recognized two of them. One of them was a human, and other one was a raccoon. As for the other ones, which happened to be a green woman as a very muscular man. He never saw something like them, then he noticed someone else. To his right is what seemed to be another prisoner which appeared to be a woman of the spieces he never saw. The only thing he could say about them was that she was a cyborg, or something like that.
"Why should we do your dirty work?" The green skinned woman on his left asked, glancing at The High Priestess
"You already helped us with one...inconvenience. What's another to you?" The High Priestess asked, looking directly at the human.
A human laughed, "It's a lot to ask if you don't plan on paying us for it."
"Why do you need him gone?" The green woman asked, as Y/N just listened to the conversation.
"He used to be a part of a group of mercenaries who were ready to do everything for some units..." The High Priestess began explaining who Y/N was to her guests, as he looked down. He didn't want to hear her to talk about his friends the way a lot of other people did. Yes, they were mercenaries who were stealing and killing for credits, but they were doing what they had to survive.
As he was looking down at the floor, he spotted a small tree on the floor, standing next to the other human. The fact that this tree was alive didn't suprise Y/N at all. The tree was staring at him shyly, as it hid behind the of one of his friends. Y/N smiled at the small tree who blinked at him for a few moments before showing him absolutely beaming smile. He didn't paid any attention to what was happening around him until he heard the raccoon scream out his name.
"Y/N ? Y/N of the Triple E and One (First letter of your name) ?" He said, looking up at Y/N, suprised expression on his face. Y/N was doing his best to hold back a chuckle. He still couldn't believe that they came out with such a ridiculous name for their crew. But, can you blame a few drunk young people who were celebrating their first job done?
"Yes." The High Priestess confirmed with a nod.
"I thought all of them died when their newest addition Gregor sold them out to the bandits, who were hunting them down for killing one of their most important members." The Raccoon stated.
"As you can I see, I managed to escape...'' Y/N spoke up for the first time since he was brought to this room. He didn't even had a chance to finish his sentence as The High Priestess nodded at one of her guards who slapped Y/N across his head.
"Be quiet, prisoner." The guard ordered as Y/N rolled his eyes.
"So, you want to take this mercenery that used to be a part of the extremely crew to the Kyln along with Gamora's sister?" The human asked.
"Gamora. At least I know one of their names. As if it mattered." Y/N thought to himself.
"Yes, I think you can handle him. After all you defeated the Abilisk that's been eating our batteries." The High Priestess stated.
"Fine." The human said. He didn't want to take another prisoner with them, but he didn't saw another option. The Sovereign was not going to let them go, until they would agree to take Y/N with them, "We'll take him too."
"One last thing, Mr Quill." The High Priestess said, "What is your heritage?"
"My mother was of Earth." Quill replied.
"And your father?" The High Priestess asked another question.
''He ain't from Missouri." Quill replied.
"I sense in you something, dangerous. An unorthodox genealogy that seems particulary reckless." The High Priestess stated.
''You know, I was told that you were bunch of conceding douchebags, but that ain't true at all." The Raccoon said, before winking at his fellows. Y/N looked around the throne room to see these gold people glare at him, as if they wanted to do something to him, which the raccoon didn't fail to notice, "What? Am I using the wrong eye again?" He said as the muscular man grabbed him, and began walking away, followed by the rest, including Y/N.
''Count yourself blessed they didn't kill you." He said to the raccoon.
''You're telling me." The raccoon said back, as he opened his bag, showing that he had some of their batteries, "You want to buy some batteries?"
The muscular man laughed loudly as Y/N who walked past them sighed. If they wanted to kill that raccoon for what he said to them, and almost killed him for trying to steal from them. How would they react if someone actually managed to steal something from them?
Things were about to get more interesting...
