Three
Logan was speaking, Remus watched his lips move. Vulgar thoughts plagued his thoughts as he stared at his thin, pink lips that he occasionally draped his tongue over, probably having dried out from speaking all day from patient to patient. Remus didn't mind.
"Remus." Within the ocean of words, his name brought him back to reality. He tilted his head, his frame barely changing, giving Logan zero insight into whether he was truly paying attention. Knowing Remus he probably wasn't.
"Were you listening?" He asks, and Remus only grins. Logan gives no reaction to his grin. His fellow teeth usually earned a grimace, but Logan never gave away any emotion, sometimes it irritated Remus. He wanted a reaction from him.
"Dunno, would that annoy you?"
"Not particularly, I don't mind repeating myself if you're willing to listen. However, if you aren't then I won't bother and we'll move on."
Remus nearly scowled. Logan always made it seem like he had a choice in what they spoke about. It irritated him. Every doctor before tried to skip right to the trauma, Logan had only brought it up once before, and after he hadn't received an answer, he didn't bring it up again.
"I wanna move on, you're boring me doc," Remus says, feigning a yawn as he stretched his arms out, though, padded mittens of sorts clung to his hands so he wouldn't try and attack the doctor or throw anything and everything in sight. Remus didn't care, he could find some other way if he wanted to.
"Apologies," Logan says simply, flipping a page in a folder he brought to their session. Remus eyed it curiously and attempted to peer into it, Logan noticed and hummed.
"Would you like to see it?"
Remus nodded silently, watching Logan carefully as he stood. A feeling of shock crashed over him as he walked to him and slid the folder in front of him, opening it to the first page, it seemed to be a file of Remus' information.
They didn't have much.
They had his name, birthday. Remus couldn't read the rest, Remus was never great at reading and he never had the ability to learn properly. He could read numbers, he could read his name. After those, the letters morphed together, and it gave Remus a headache to try any further.
"Can you read it to me?" He finds himself asking, and he watches as Logan studies him for a moment.
"Can you read?"
Remus feels no shame as he shakes his head. It wasn't his fault he couldn't read.
"Ah, I see," Logan nods, seemingly lost in thought for a moment. "Would you like to learn?"
Remus snorted. "Sorry Doc I'm not teachable, besides, don't ya have a family to go to? Ya can't spend all yer time with lil' old me," He says before snickering. "Not that I'm complaining~"
Logan once again didn't grace him with a reaction. "I have plenty of time, if I have a family, which I won't be disclosing whether I do or not, they would surely understand."
"Whatever you say Doc," Remus said with a shrug. "If Ya want ta try I guess so."
"We'll start our next session, I'm afraid this one has already run late."
"I thought ya said yer family would understand?" Remus teases, but Logan merely hums.
"I have other patients. Have a good rest of your day Remus, please do try and stay out of trouble."
Remus only smiled.
