Chapter 6

"At least now you know I'm not lying," Jimin mumbled as he traced his fingers over his drawing.

"Jimin, I believe in you. But we require evidence. That's what we need. You can't tell ghost stories in front of the prosecution," Yoongi told him.

"What happened to him?" Jimin inquired, his gaze still fixed on the photograph.

"He went missing in 2016 and was last seen at your orphanage. According to reports, he and his friend vanished from the orphanage on June 13th."

"With his friend? " Jimin's gaze followed Yoongi's fingers until it came to a halt at another image. The boy had a bright smile that was as warm as the sun. When he smiled, his cheeks appeared to be squishable.

'But why am I seeing him now? What if he's trying to communicate with me?' Jimin mused to himself.

"But don't be disheartened. Come on over here," Yoongi patted on the cushion, making room for Jimin next to him, "I'm not sure if you've heard of it. However, there was a court case in the United States in which the defendant, the alleged murderer, claimed he was under the control of a demon at the time of the deed, thus pleading innocent of the crime," Yoongi explained as he browsed the website.

"Why don't you mail them?" Yoongi suggested, nodding his head. Jimin leaned against the chair, cracking his neck and allowing Yoongi to read his email.

"Why did you present yourself as an aspiring young writer seeking advice on writing a paranormal novel?" Yoongi inquired as he watched Jimin play with tangerine peel, coiling and uncoiling it.

"I thought you were smart enough to be an Officer, Hyung," Jimin chuckled as he watched Yoongi roll his eyes at him.

"They may receive a large number of emails about people being able to see ghosts, which may or may not be spam. As a result, this may get their attention more quickly," Jimin reasoned as Yoongi typed them into his computer.

"Where is your grandmother, Hyung?"

Jimin inquired as he noticed an elderly lady seated on the bed.

"She passed away a year ago. Why?"

"She wanted me to tell you how much she misses you," Jimin returned his gaze to his face and smiled at the grandma as she walked out of the room.

Yoongi's pale, terrified face began to quiver, and his eyes shifted from side to side towards the bed.

"She walked out of the room. ...Right after I told you about her."

Yoongi just averted his eyes back to the screen, not knowing the correct way to react.

"Just give me a call, and I'll be there for you," Yoongi said as he drove away, leaving the boy at home.

He went to his room after entering the house.

'What's the matter with me?' Jimin reflected as the sharp pain in his stomach intensified.

Jimin positions himself to hover over the toilet bowl, but nothing happens. He approaches the mirror, swiping at the glass weakly until he can see his face. As he saw his reflection in the mirror, his breath and pulse became more relaxed.

But it didn't last long when he noticed his reflection smiling creepily back at him.
