The examination schedule was announced and the first exam was English. "All the best, Ankitha!" her father wished her on the morning of the exam. "I am going out for a walk"

Ankitha reached the school early. Then she looked around for Nandhini.
She was nowhere to be seen. An hour passed; yet there was no sign of Nandhini. Ankitha was really glad. "Nandhini will not be coming for today's exam," she thought. With only half and hour left, Nandhini rushed into the hall, sweat running down her face.

When the examination ended, everyone gathered around Nandhini. "What happened? why were you late?" 

"I was delayed a bit," Nandhini explained. Ankitha started laughing. Tears rolled down from Nandhini's eyes and she ran away from the spot.
Later, when Ankitha walked into her home she knew something was wrong. Her relatives were present in the house. Her mother was looking tense and the doctor was pacifying everyone.
