Chapter 2: Language of Flowers
"These are all for Prince Midoriya," Iida said with a hidden tiredness.
Currently, he was looking at three piles of flowers, primroses more specifically. The servant who just delivered these gifts to Iida, nodded his head soulessly. At least this delivery was smaller than the last time he recieved presents representing the beginning of courting. In Iida's mind, it was good that people were quickly losing interest.
Iida stacked the flowers onto a delicate cart, which he rolled down to Izuku's room. He rapped the door a few times before hearing a faint cue to come in.
"Oh, hey, Iida," Izuku greeted happily.
"Greetings and salutations, my Prince," Iida replied with a soft smile in return.
"What's up? You never come here unless it's work related."
"Yes, there are more flowers from the Kruicia, Larean, and Ukitis. These few seeming keen on having your hand in marriage," Iida replied.
"I should probably just tell them I'm not interested right now," Izuku mumbled to himself.
Izuku layed back on his bed. He allowed his eyes closed, his lips pursed. Clearly he was contemplating his options. After a few moments of thinking and mumbling to himself, his serious expression turn to take of an unamused smirk. He was greatly aware that a large amount of nobles considered omegas prizes, which Izuku new for a fact he isn't. So, it would make sense to take complete control over the situation. The pieces in his mind were falling into place. He smiled widely as the while idea came into existence. He shot up from his bed, which gave Iida a big of a startle. Izuku pounded his balled up hand into the palm of the other.
"I got it," Izuku announced excitedly.
"What might you have come up with, Prince Midoriya," Iida asked after quickly regaining his composure.
"Okay, so you know how people can't take no for an answer as a result of toxic masculinity," Izuku replied as an introduction for his plan.
"Yes, I am aware of that unfortunate fact," Iida said hoping that it wasn't a rhetorical question.
"So, in that case it would make the most sense for me to take total control over the situation. Bring them to my home, where I automatically have power. They can't force themselves on me that way," Izuku continued, giving a break for Iida's response.
"I am pleased that you are looking out for your safety, sire," Iida replied.
"Even then, it would give everybody interested in me a chance of courting. Making it 'fair' to them, and a visual representation of competition is sometimes all it takes for people to drop out of the running," Izuku said. His voice was slowly descending into a ramble, not that Iida minded.
Iida nodded in agreement, he had nothing to disapprove of so far.
"Now all I really need is an event that would constitute this scale and demographic of guests," Izuku stated in a slightly exasperated tone.
"Would a ball work with this plan," Iida suggested.
"... Yes! Yes it would! Thank you," Izuku replied happily.
"Is there a theme you'd like for it," Iida asked, seemingly taking mental notes.
Izuku sat there for a moment thinking over his options and what they'd mean for the ball. He started chewing on his lip, obviously deep in concentration. It seemed the prince was trying to keep mumbling to a minimum.
"You can voice your thoughts, my prince. I do not mind," Iida said as sweetly as his personality would allow.
"Thank you," Izuku whispered.
The mumbling started back up allowing for a train of thought to be followed, albeit difficult to do so. It seemed Izuku had come to a consensus when he kept his mind on one theme for an exceedingly long amount of time.
"A masquerade," Izuku answered confidently.
"May I inquire as to why," Iida asked with a slight sense of confusion.
"I don't want to be too crowded, it makes one on one time more difficult," Izuku answered bashfully.
Iida nodded his head once more. The minuscule action of approval was all the encouragement Izuku ndded to carry on with his plan.
"I see, I'll suggest it to his Majesty when I meet him later," Iida said with a certain type of confidence.
"Thank you, Iida," Izuku replied with a smile.
"Also, the library is currently being cleaned, as a result of that, your lessons will be held in the garden today," Iida said helpfully. He then bowed, turned to the hallway, and left, leaving the flowers and cart for Izuku to handle.
"Thanks for letting me know. Bye," Izuku replied, thanking the other once more before his door was closed shut.
The prince went right ahead into the planning of the ball, by no means is it like him to leave all the work to somebody else.
