Vladimir Moon and Jessica Hunter are Jake's biological parents. Unfortunately, they couldn't be parents for long, due to some forseen events.

Vladimir "Vlad" Moon was a young prince who was set to take the throne after his father, but he never got that chance. His home was raided and most of his family died in a huge vampire genocide. But he, along with others, were able to escape and seek refuge in the forest surrounding the human village, where no one dared to go anyway.

Vlad was unfortunately captured a while later by a raid of hunters and taken into their dungeon. And that's where he spent a week of his life, before he would ultimately be executed.

Fortunately, a young and pure soul hated the fact that his kind was always hunted and discriminated against. Jessica Hunter went back to the dungeon to try and save Vlad, but had barely any luck to convince any of the Hunters to let him go, as it was their job to do so. And she was quickly taken home to have a talk with her sister (I'll get to her later). After some struggle, Jessica snuck into the dungeon, freeing Vlad and they both eloped into the forest, where they stayed put for most of their lives.

Ultimately, the two of them got married and had a simple forest wedding, and shortly after, had a child together. It seemed that nothing could go wrong in their lives.

After a few weeks of living together with their hybrid child, their home was suddenly attacked by hunters and Vlad had to flee in order to keep them away from their hidden village, or else they would all die. So as he was leaving the hunters away, Jessica was running to find a place to hide for herself and her baby boy.

Eventually, she came across a small owl who was carrying a small sack and there was a portal door right behind it. Jessica knew what she has to do, and gave her crying child to the owl creature and watched as it flew through the portal, taking Jake along with it.

Jessica was left crying in the forest as she has just given away her only child. And in the midst of all of this, Vlad was killed by the hunters, so Jessica was left all alone, with no one who cared for her as much as Vlad did.

When she returned home, Jessica was swiftly punished for treason amongst her family and her sister hasn't talked to her since (considering she tried to warn her before).

But despite all of this, Jessica is still hopeful that one day. . . just one day. . . she would be able to see her lost son once again.
