Never Again

Here's one I came up with in the middle of the night.

In this one, you are a builder. Gally is your best friend. (He likes you, but hasn't told anyone.) This takes place while Chuck is the greenie and Teresa will come up a month after Thomas.

Gally's POV

"Y/N, what are you doing?" I ask.

"My window keeps rattling at night, and I'm gonna try to fix it," she says. She is carrying a tall ladder and resting it aginst her second-story window in the Homestead.

"Okay," I respond wairily. "Be careful."

"I've been a builder for a year, Gal," she says with a smirk. "I think I know how to climb a ladder."

I head inside to work on some blueprints with Newt and Alby.

"I think we should make this room a little bigger," Alby suggests.

"Yeah, but that'll ma-" Newt is cut off by an ear-splitting shriek, that stopped abrutly, followed by a loud crash.

Everyone ran outside to the source of the crash. A large crowd has formed near the Homestead. Someone is calling for the med-jacks.

Clit and Jeff fight their way to the front of the crowd.

"EVERYONE BACK UP!" Clint screams.

"Alby, Newt," Jeff calls. "Get over here. Everyone else, back to work."

***Time Skip***

"Alby, what was that all bout?" I ask as he and Newt emerge from the Homestead a few hours later, both with dark looks on their faces.

Alby took a deep breath, "Gally, don't freak out. It's Y/N."

"WHAT?" I ask. "What happened to her?"

"She fell off a ladder. They're still looking at her."

I ran towards the Homestead, faster than any of the runners. I find the room they've put her in. Her breaths are shallow, her hands are clammy, and her skin pale.

******************

Paralized. That's what they said. Her spine was snapped and she'll never walk again. I can feel my heart break as I sit by her bed side looking at her. There's a gash on her forehead bandaged up. I imagine her beautiful eyes open, full of life. I can see the sort of splint the Med-Jacks have made for her peaking through her shirt. They said she woke up earlier, but she fell back asleep.

I bury my face in my hands, "It's all my fault," I mutter.

"No it's not, Gal."

I look up to see her eyes open. She still has that mischivious twinkle in her eyes.

"Yes it is, I should have held the ladder for you."

"That's not why I fell," she says. "I fell because I put the ladder to far to the right and I was trying to reach from where I was."

"Still, you shouldn't be in this bed. You should be out at dinner with everone else."

"I'll be fine, Gal," she says. "Clint asked for a wheel chair from the creators, and I'll just move to a room downstairs."

"Everyone misses you, you know," I say, trying to steer the subject from her paralyasis.

"I miss you most of all," she says, and I feel my hear flutter a bit. "I need my partner in crime."

Of course, she only thinks of us as friends.

******************

A week later Y/N is wheeling around the Glade in the wheel chair the creators sent her along with a back brace. Alby and Newt decided that she should be the offical Greenie Guide because she was the only one who could get Winston and Chuck out of the Box.

When Thomas came up, she was showing him all around the Glade pointing out the major points. She took him to all the different jobs to try out. She seemed happy to have something to do.

When she wasn't breaking in the greenies, she usually helped Fry-Pan in the kitchens.

She seems fine with her new life, but I'm not. I don't know how, but I'm going to avenge this. I'm going to make sure, she doesn't get hurt. Never Again.

Hope you guys liked that, and if you know any books like this, please let me know becaus I think that would be interesting to read about.
