Liz the Cook
Okay, for this one, pretend Teresa never showed up.
-----THOMAS'S FIRST DAY-----
Liz's Point Of View (POV)
I was chopping carrots for tonight's Chicken Noodle Soup when the Newbie Alarm went off.
Maybe this will be the month when there'll be another girl.
I was one of the first ones in the glade (I had come three months after the first gladers) and so far I had been the only girl in the entire two years. I went back to my work, the Greenies always asked too many questions, when Chuck walked in with who I assumed to be the new Greenie. He looked about sixteen, five feet tall, and had brown hair.
"Hey, Liz, how's it going?" Chuck asked, "This is the new Greenie, Thomas."
"Hi Thomas," I said, "And, yes. I'm the only girl that's come up in the box in the past two years."

Thomas's POV
Chuck took him into the kitchen with a girl chopping carrots at the counter. I realized she was the first girl he'd seen in the prison that was his new life. She had brown, almond-shaped eyes, and penny-copper brown hair that shone in the sunlight through the grimy window.
"Hey, Liz, how's it going?" Chuck asked, "This is the new Greenie, Thomas."
"Hi Thomas," she said, "And, yes. I'm the only girl that's come up in the box in the past two years."
"That's kinda cool," I said, "How is it in the Glade?" I tried not to cringe, that sounded so stupid.
"'bout as good as it gets being the only girl in a place full of teenage boys." she said with a slight smirk. "You can thank Chuckie here for when I slug you in the arm if you sneak up behind me"
"Well, we gotta go," Chuck said a little uncomfortable
"I thought we were getting a snack." I said confused.
Liz tossed us some carrots
"Oh, look at, already done, lets go." Chuck said catching them and practically running out the door.
"What was all that about?," I asked when I caught up with him outside.
Chuck struggled to catch his breath, "I saw where that was going and trust me, you do not want to be around Liz when she gets agitated, she always has a knife handy."
"Okay... don't want to know," I said, for some reason that made me like Liz even more.
-----The Day They Left the Glade-----
Liz's POV
"Hey shuck faces, listen up," I heard Minho yell from outside, "we think we know how to get out of here"
That got my attention, I never leave my work for an announcement-I always just listen from the window-that's how the other Glader's knew something was important. As I walked outside I heard Minho yell, "Hey, even Liz got out of the kitchen to hear this so put down your shuck knitting needles."
"Shut your hole, Minho." I yelled back.
"You da boss, Liz," he responded.
***Skip ahead to after Minho's little speech.***
Everyone was shocked into silence for about half a second till the outbursts started. I was just amazed that after two years no one had thought about going through the Griever Hole, I mean, the most obvious way is usually the right way. I got sick and tired of the yelling, "Hey, shuck faces, shut your holes, I'm in."
"Thank you Liz," Minho said, "If you want to go, come tell the Keepers, if not, have fun with the Grievers."
***Skip ahead to after Thomas and Chuck turn off the Grievers***
All of a sudden, the Grievers shut down, and I heard Newt yell, "They did it, everyone get in the bloody Griever Hole! You first Liz" I felt okay, except for a scratch on my leg when I fell on a sharp rock, so I walked over to the Cliff and saw that some vines marked the invisible entrance. I took a deep breath, straightened my pack, and jumped through the hole followed by Zart, Frypan, Clint, a few others, and finally Newt, and Minho. with a sickening jolt I noticed that out of forty-one gladers, only twenty-one were left. We all went down into a room at the bottom of a sort of slide that seemed to go on for miles. We were being watched by Scientists behind glass.
(I'm just going to skip this part, if you don't know why, then I suggest that you reread the book)
Our, I don't know, rescuers loaded us onto a bus and I sat next to Newt. He shot me a small smile. That grin sent a wave of reassurance through me, as if I were finding out the world was okay again.

-----Author's note-----
I hope you like this, I know it's a little weird, I have a very active imagination. Also I know I screwed up that last quote, but I'm on break and I don't have a copy of the book.
