You and Minho run, dragging an unconscious Alby behind you. Your heart beats out of you chest as you hear the terrible screeching of the walls beginning to close.

You and Minho exchange a look. You both knew that you couldn't make it.

Gladers began to scream, "You have to leave him behind!" "C'mon Minho!" "Y/N, c'mon!"

The doors start to close. You curse under your breath and think to yourself, I can't believe this is how I'm going to die.

The boys continue to scream things that you cannot make out. Your eyes land on your boyfriend, Thomas. He has this determined look on his face. He looks from the Gladers, to you, and back to The Gladers. You immediately know what he's thinking about doing.

Oh no. God no. Please... no.

Minho and you continue to drag Alby behind you, trying to make it back in time... but you knew it was useless. And as the doors are just about to close, Thomas makes a run for it. He slides in between the closing walls, trying his best to get into the Maze before the large, concrete walls crush him.

Thomas slides into the Maze as the walls slam shut behind him. You give a crazed look to your boyfriend, and then look to Minho. Minho smiles sarcastically, "Congratulations, Greenie. You just killed yourself."

Thomas rolls his eyes at Minho's remark, "I couldn't just leave you guys here to die."

"Well," you say, "Thanks for your Superman act, but know all four of us are going to die. There's no way we can survive this."

Minho juts his head to the side and starts running, "C'mon, shuck-faces, we can't just stand around."

"What about Alby?" Thomas says and gestures to the Glader laying on the ground of the Maze.

Minho raises his eyebrows, "What can we do?"

"Minho, we can't just leave him here to die," you say and walk over to Thomas.

"We. Can't. Do. Anything! Get that through your heads - we need to run," Minho says and sprints off.

"Minh-" Thomas starts to call but you cut him off, "It's no use, Tom. Minho wants what he wants... let's just tie Alby up in the ivy, okay?"

Thomas nods, "Yeah. Let's do that."

After you and Thomas tie up Alby, you hear a terrifying sound. One thought pops into your head: Griever.

You and your boyfriend exchange a look, "Let's go!" Thomas yells and grabs your hand, pulling you through the Maze.

As you continue to run, your foot lands in something green and slimy. You grimace, but continue to run with Thomas.

"Y/N," Thomas says as the two you press your backs against one of the concrete walls, "If we don't survive... remember that I love you."

You smile weakly, "I love you too, Tom." Thomas leans down and kisses you, but your moment is ruined by none of other than Minho.

"Why are you two shucking?! We have bigger issues!" Minho says and points to the griever who is running behind him.

Thomas grabs your hand, "Yeah... we need to run."

The three of you start to run away from the large, deadly, griever and Thomas tells you one more time, "I love you."

You crack a smile and start to reply, but Minho (as usual) cuts you off. "Y/N! There is a shucking griever trying to kill us! Now - stop saying your wedding vows and keep running!"
