teresa knew - thominho / thomesa

once again, removing it as it's own story

i actually don't hate this one

teresa knew thomas.

she had been with him before the maze forever, really.

she might not have known what happened exactly, but she knew she knew thomas.

probably more than anyone else.

plus, with their telepathic trick, she got quite a bit of information from the boy.

she knew he loved minho.

too many times had she heard thomas' recitations of his daydreaming.

they played throughout her head, a lot.

and it broke her. she loved the brunet. when she ratted them in to WICKED, she was torn. save the world, or betray the boy she had loved so dearly?

but, either way, she couldn't have him. minho was there.

she didn't take it personally. it wasn't his fault

teresa just wanted thomas to be happy. and if that meant that she had to give up on him, then so be it.

hell, if that meant she had to die for him, then so be it.

and she did. she died for him. she would die for a love that wasn't even her own. thomas and minho's relationship was.. well, it was quite truly amazing. teresa was jealous, of course, but after knowing about newt, she couldn't help but feel that it was her fault.

it was her fault that the british was dead, and she couldn't live a day in the safe haven knowing she could have saved the boy he loved so dearly.

but teresa loved seeing thomas happy.

she remembered the first time he realised he had a crush on the boy. it had been when they escaped from the maze, and chuck had been killed.

thomas was relaxing against minho, willing himself not to cry. talking to teresa telepathically about who knows what.

but that wasn't the first time teresa herself knew that he loved minho.

the first time she realised was when she was told about him running into the maze. a day or two after she arrived at the glade, that was.

a sunny-ish day.

they were all celebrating that minho, thomas and alby had made it out alive.

but, teresa couldn't help but think;

why would you do that for love?

she realised now, of course.

risking your life for someone you want a future with was something she knew very well by the time she died.

when you really love someone, you just want them to be happy.

which, she supposed, was why thomas had killed newt. she never knew if their love was simply platonic, or more, but she didn't really need to know. all she needed to know was that they cared for each-other, and thomas was happy.

and minho was happy.

she didn't think she had seen thomas more relieved when minho woke up after being struck by lightning.

god, he was about one second away from a panic attack when the boy woke up.

then, when they thought everyone was asleep, they whispered sweet nothings things to each-other, sharing short, sweet kisses.

teresa was awake, though.

that was when she first realised she wouldn't get thomas to love her the way he loved minho.

she never would.

she didn't really get along amazingly well with minho.

i mean, they were friends but they weren't as close as thomas and teresa, or minho and thomas.

unsurprisingly, really.

thomas always had a way of making friends with everyone, it was strange. he had a certain effect on you that if he was there, you'd feel more at peace.

the atmosphere would be calmer.

people looked up to him.

so did teresa.

but, thomas looked up to teresa too.

he missed her so much.

he didn't feel the guilt he got with newt, but it was a very close second.

newt, teresa, chuck.

he wouldn't forget how they died.

all died for him.

and they couldn't have seen how happy thomas and minho were.

having an open relationship (they weren't really hiding but according to minho, nobody asked so nobody needed to know).

but teresa knew from the beginning.

and boy, was she glad she did.
