Thomas / Minho

As your car pulls up to the venue, you start to feel butterflies arise in your stomach for the first time since you learned about the wedding. You remember when you first received the invitation, beautifully designed, your name written in elegant cursive but the name of the bride and groom catching you by surprise. It'd been years since you last saw your two best friends from your teenage years. Whilst they stayed in your small hometown, you moved to a different city to attend the university of your dreams.

It'd been easy in this day and age to keep in touch for the first few months. Even if you didn't call them every day, you'd text and keep a chat going until you'd eventually became too buried in school and work to respond and even check messages.

The messages stopped coming and you focused solely on yourself, graduating and accepting a job offer at your dream company.

There's a knock on your window, shocking you back to the present and you realise you'd been sitting in your car for a while, the invitation almost crumpled in your hands. You shake your head and exit your car to see a familiar smile.

"Brenda?!" You widen your eyes at your once close friend and instantly she wraps her arms around you. You almost didn't recognise her. She'd grown up so much and it finally hit you how much things have changed.

"Look at you! You look amazing!" Brenda exclaims as she engulfs you in a tight hug.

"It's been what, seven, almost eight years!" You squeeze her, "I've missed you, I've missed everyone" You pull back and give her your sincerest smile. She returns the gesture.

"Thomas and Teresa are going to be so happy you came, (y/n)" Brenda links arms with you as the two of begin making your way towards to actual wedding. When you start to see more of the wedding and its guests, you start to feel nervous again but you're unsure why. Perhaps it was because you hadn't arrived in time for the rehearsals, in fact, you'd only arrived less than twenty hours before due to unforeseen circumstances. It definitely wasn't your bosses fault.

"I still can't believe they're actually getting married. All those times we stayed up late watching movies instead of studying, all those tests we cheated on-"

"-you cheated on" you correct Brenda who only grins wider and continues her trip down memory lane but you've become too distracted by the handsome stranger dressed in a very sharp suit near the edges of the venue, eyeing up all the guests with a stoic expression until he looks at you. You hold his gaze for a while until you realise Brenda taking you over to him.

You panic, "uh...shouldn't we take our seats?" you ask Brenda, becoming more flustered as he continues to shamelessly check you out with a smirk on his face.

"I just want to introduce you to someone real quick- Minho! Don't you clean up nice!" Brenda elbows him. Minho grins widely at Brenda who unhooks her arm from yours and they envelope each other in a hug.

"Minho, this is (Y/n), (y/n), this is Minho." You hold out your hand for Minho to shake who instead gently holds it and brings it up to his lips. You give Brenda a questioning glance. She just shrugs but you see the smirk on her lips.

Minho gives you the most charming smile and if you were back in your adolescent days, you'd already be planning your wedding in your head.

"How do you know the couple?" You ask him, pretending not to notice the awkward atmosphere.

"I saved Thomas' ass from getting run over on the first day of college." Minho replies with a shrug as if the feat was nothing.

"They've been best friends since. Along with Teresa, they're as thick as thieves." Brenda grins at Minho and you feel the smile on your lips falter.

"(y/n), Thomas and Teresa all lived on the same street. We all went to school together" Brenda tells Minho when she notices your change in mood.

"Have you seen Thomas?" You ask Minho who seems confused at first.

"Uh, yeah, I saw him a couple hours ago. Hey, looks like everyone's going to their seats, you should find yours too" Minho nods at the centre of the venue, where the rows of chairs are set up.

"Minho's Thomas' best man" Brenda informs you but you're too distracted to care.

"I should see Thomas first. Let him know I'm here" You look around in hopes of finding Thomas. When you don't see him you turn to face Brenda whose perfectly drawn eyebrows furrow together as she tries to decipher what's going on in your head.

"(y/n), I don't think that's a good idea." Minho steps in between you and Brenda and you take a step back out of instinct.

"Why? We're just old friends going to catch up" You say, feeling a little defensive.

"(Y/n)?" you hear Thomas' voice behind you and you almost dizzy yourself from turning too fast.

"Wow, I didn't think you'd make it!" He grins, spreading his arms and instantly you step to hug him but it's a hug cut short when you feel Minho's hand on your elbow. You step back to ask him what he's doing when Minho slips his hand into yours and entwines your fingers.

Thomas looks between the two of you, then down at Minho's hand holdings yours and back up at you and a look of realisation washes over his features.

"You know each other?" Thomas tilts his head in confusion.

"(Y/n) and I are actually dating." Minho smiles at you and you can only look to Brenda for answers.

"Funny, isn't it?! The universe works in mysterious ways" Brenda chimes in quickly while you're still too confused to comprehend what's happening.

"How come you didn't tell me, Minho? How long have you two been dating?" Thomas refuses to meet your eyes.

"Remember that work trip I took a few months back? I didn't realise that (y/n), here was the same (y/n) you and Teresa knew! But I guess its fate, right?"
