laughing at my own title even though i know it's dumb 

ed and er are kinda the same so please just read it as one or the other. 

You're an emergency room/department nurse. You've got a crush on Thomas, a paramedic who's been working at the hospital for a few years.

You try to see him every time he's in the ward but when you do get the chance, you become too shy to talk to him. He looks so cute and attractive in his uniform. He's also always so nice to the patients, even to those who aren't the nicest back.

He's always smiling and looks so confident when he talks to the other medical staff, you're always in awe at how smart he is. His partner, Gally, is always complaining about how Thomas drives too fast and turns on the siren even when he doesn't need to but Thomas thinks it's a lot of fun.

The other nurses love him because he can always make them and the patients laugh and lightens the mood a lot. They've been trying to get you and Thomas together for a couple months now but you keep making excuses.

"You know how hard it is with work and I'm sure he's busy too. Don't bother him on my account." Nothing stops them though, as they keep trying to get you two to interact.

One day, you're particularly stressed and one of the other nurses get an idea.

"Thomas, you're shift is over, soon right? I heard (y/n) talk about that coffee shop you've been going on about"

"Oh yeah, they've opened one close by." Even Gally joins in.

"My shift isn't over for like another two hours and besides, I want to get home and shower" you ty to make up another excuse to not talk to Thomas.

"We could meet up afterwards" Thomas suggests, your cheeks heat up since you didn't expect him to go along with it.

For the past few months, he's also been crushing on you and every chance he gets he makes Gally ask one of the other nurses about you. Gally thinks he's an idiot and should ask them himself or even just talk to you himself but he also likes teasing Thomas about you.

Whenever Thomas leaves a patient in the ED/ER he always tells them about you.

"see that nurse? They're pretty incredible and are going to take great care of you. you're in safe hands!" He hasn't even talked to you but he knows how you always go above and beyond as a nurse and is really impressed by you. He's also been too shy to talk to you.

"But I understand if you're too tired. I'm sure it's been a long day for you, (y/n)" He smiles and you think it's a really nice smile and you want to see more of it so you just blurt out without thinking.

"I'd love to go! I- I mean, if you want to?" you're nervous with butterflies in your stomach and pink cheeks. You're so obvious and Thomas thinks it's really cute.

"Great! It's a date!"
