Thomas ♡

A few disclaimers about the set of Valentine's Day series:
1. I have no idea what people do on dates as I have never been on one lol,
2. None of the media (pictures, gifs) belong to me. All of them belong to their respective owners!
3. These are all AUs.

Thus begins my Valentine's Day mini series

Even though you're completely aware that not having a date on Valentine's Day isn't a big deal, you can't help but feel a little blue about having spent the whole day alone, in your apartment.

Sure, you could've gone out and watched a movie by yourself, or treated yourself to something nice at the cafe you've recently discovered, but the idea of seeing all those cute couples and potential lovey-dovey gestures, you decided to stay inside.

It also being your first year away from home, in a completely new city, you can't help but feel twice as lonely.

Besides, being single, you can't really think of anyone you'd want to spend Valentine's Day with anyway. Not like Valentine's Day was an important day anyway...

Unable to concentrate on your show any longer, you turn it off and reach for your phone. Perhaps you'll order pizza, or maybe one of your many friends will pick up if they're not too busy with their dates.

As you're scrolling through your contacts, your fingers hover over a certain male's name.

'Thomas' ...

You sigh and continue scrolling.

Thomas already has a girlfriend, probably. You always see them on campus together, him and Teresa but then again, you also always see him with Newt and Minho so what if they're all just friends?

He is always really friendly with you during lectures, he's always offering to study with you and have lunch together but what if that's just how he is? You wouldn't want to get the wrong idea but it's kind of already too late. In the past few months since you've met Thomas, you've developed a significant crush on him.

"Don't hesitate to call if you need me, okay?"  He'd given you the widest grin while he was typing in his number on your phone. That's when you started to feel something for Thomas. He had been so kind and patient with you, helped you when you got lost on campus, told you the best and worst food places and even introduced you to his closest friends so you wouldn't get lonely.

"Whatever (y/n)! Just grow some balls and ask him if he wants to be your Valentine already!"

You're minds a fuzz, you can't bring yourself to call him but you know you'd regret it if you didn't, so instead you texted him.

'Hey Thomas! I know it's kinda late but want to be my valentine?'

As soon as you hit 'send', you throw your phone across the couch and bury yourself under your blankets, now wishing you hadn't sent it.

What if he replies with, 'sorry I have a girlfriend' or 'can't, hanging out with my boyfriend'?! Or what if he thinks you're a complete weirdo? He'll never want to talk or see you ever again!

A few minutes go by, you know because you're listening to the ticks of the clock in complete desperation, and there's still no reply.

"that's it, I need to move cities. I'll have to get a new identity-"

You're in the middle of your melt down when your phone begins to ring, startling you.

You're muttering curse words when you fail to find your phone under your blanket but then you're blood goes cold when you see the caller ID.

'Thomas'

You let out a deep, uncharacteristically manly scream before answering the phone as calmly as you can.

"yes?"

"hey, (y/n)?"  You almost drop your phone upon hearing Thomas' voice.

"Hey, Thomas." You laugh, trying to sound as casual and natural.

"Hey, (Y/n)" Thomas chuckles as he replies. It's heavenly, his laugh.

"I read your text and was kind of surpised."

shit. Maybe I'll move to Paris and-

"I thought you were already seeing someone so I didn't ask. I'm really happy you texted me, (y/n). I'd love to be your Valentine."

...

"(y/n)? Are you okay? You're breathing kind of heavy"

"no, I mean yes! I'm okay. I just wasn't expecting this. I, uh, don't really know what to do now..." You confess with a sheepish laugh.

"I've got an idea. How about you text me your address?"

"Oh, um Thomas, I'm not ready for that-"

Thomas cuts you off with an innocent laugh, "I promise I'm not being creepy. If you'd prefer, you can just send me your street and I'll wait on the corner?"

Your throat dries up from embarrassment, "okay, I'll do that"

'gosh, (y/n), why are you so awkward?!'

"great! I'll see you soon, (y/n)" You can almost see the bright smile on Thomas' face when you hang up. He sounds excited and it's enough to make you feel better.

You make your way down the street, it's still quite busy, something you expected. You see plenty of couples eating dinner at fancy restaurants, some walk around in nice coats, holding hands and others sit at cafes, with drinks in their hands and love in their smiling eyes.

You reach the corner of the street where Thomas had said he'd meet you and sure enough, standing under a street light, he is.

"(y/n)!" He grins, sweeping you up in a big hug. "I would've bought you roses but none of the stores had any fresh ones left" Thomas says with a slight pout.

"I don't mind!" You say, smiling.

"What did you have in mind?"

Thomas' grin widens, "there's a special screening of (your favorite movie). I had actually bought tickets a while ago, hoping I'd be able to ask you sooner but I couldn't." He says sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck.

You're confused, Thomas has been wanting to ask you out? No, you're misreading it again! He means as friends. Obviously.

"If you'd like to go with me-"

"I'd love to!"

You both end up laughing and grinning from ear to ear. You're no longer feeling as tense and nervous or as upset and lonely. Thomas smiles softly at you and you feel yourself burning up under his gaze.

"We should get going, huh?" You say to Thomas who looks like he was in deep thought.

The movie's over and you realize you enjoyed watching it far more with Thomas beside you than all the times you've watched it on your own. Thomas seemed to have enjoyed it too, his smile never leaving his lips.

The two of you are walking beside each other, close enough to occasionally bump hands but you're slightly disappointing Thomas hasn't made any moves yet. You both decide to get drinks from a nearby cafe and you convince Thomas to grab some pizza on your way back.

You muster up all the confidence you have in you and ask Thomas if he wants to eat it back at your place.

I mean, there's nothing wrong with friends sharing a pizza at one's apartment, right? You're just hanging out...just doing friend things...

Thomas seems fine with it, not exactly excited but he does seem a little nervous but so do you.

'maybe he's just tired...'  You think to yourself.

"Thomas if you don't want to-"

"(Y/n), I have something to tell you" Thomas stops walking and turns to look at you, all serious like.

"You're far smarter and better than so I don't expect you to feel the same but I've fallen for you. I didn't really want to do this today, but I don't think I can hold out for much longer. I really need to kiss you right now, (y/n)."

...

"(Y/n)? You alright? You're breathing kind of heavy again."

"Thomas, I feel the same way!"

Thomas' eyes widen but he quickly sighs a sigh of relief, and the bright grin you've come to adore returns to his features.

"(Y/N), can I kiss you?'

You can't keep the wide grin from spreading across your cheeks as you nod in response. You notice Thomas leaning in slowly, his eyes flutter close and you mimic his actions. Soon, you feel a soft touch on your lips and it sends shivers down your spine. It also kind of tickles but when Thomas' hands cup your cheeks, the kiss deepens and you feel something exciting erupt in your body.

Back at your apartment, both of you finish that promised pizza and decide it only appropriate for Thomas to sleep over.

"I mean, it is pretty late...and dark."

"(Y/n), I agree one hundred percent."
