Ch.21
-Unedited-
Corania tapped her leg as she sat on the bed. Clay was searching through the closet.
"Love, do you prefer dark colors or lights?" He asked from the closet.
"Umm it doesn't matter but I guess light colors." She replied
"Perfect. You will look beautiful in white. A tradition in my day was that before a woman got married she would wear white." He said, sounding like a schoolboy.
"Is that so?" She said not caring.
Coming out of the closet he presented her with a white summer dress that she couldn't deny that it was beautiful. It also had a Lacey trim at the top. So the dress was pretty and modest. Standing up she lifted her arms as he removed the large shirt that she wore. Corania would give it to him because he didn't make anything sexual about getting her dress. He was pretty sweet.
Bringing the white bra to her chest he clipped it and adjusted the straps and placed a kiss on her shoulder. A flush made its way onto her cheeks as he bent down and held her panties out. They were a white cotton pair with lace trim, slipping her legs into the hole and was happy with the fabric that covered her; they were super comfortable. Reaching over he grabbed the bottle of lotion and lather up her legs. Sitting back on the bed he took care to even lotion up her feet. Standing up he finished placing lotion on her upper body.
Grabbing the dress he slipped it over her head and placed a kiss on her temple. Corania felt a warmth fill her belly and tried to stamp it down. Corania was happy she was getting out of this house. Maybe it wasn't exactly what she wanted but she would be free of this house for a few hours. And she couldn't lie that he was surprised that he was keeping his word and taking her to a place where she could receive a signal and speak to her mother. She didn't understand why she needed to be dressed so nice but she wouldn't question it.
"You look beautiful my dearest," he said as he looked over her.
"Thank you." "I'll get dressed and then we'll go," he said
Nodding her head she picked up the brush and pulled her hair into a ponytail. Clay was wearing a dark grey shirt and light-colored jeans. Damn, he looks good. His hair was swept back and a piece of loose hair laid on his forehead. His beard was trimmed down. Over his shoulder was a black leather jacket, he looked like a model.
"You look handsome," she said as a bright smile made its way upon his face.
"Only for you my love," he said while holding out his hand for her to take. Corania took a deep breath as she smelled the fresh air. She stepped forward pulling away from Clay. she froze when she realized what she had done. Looking back she started to apologize but he shook his head and just smiled.
"I know you weren't going to run, darling, let's get going,'' he said.
Walking into town he kept his hand on her waist as the townspeople greeted them respectively. Going to the auto shop the machinic greeted them and smiled brightly.
"Good evening Mayor and Little lady." the older man greeted
"I got the car all gassed up and ready for you both to enjoy," he said while showing them to the back of the garage.
The back of the building was filled with a couple of cars. But what looked strange was the tank-like car that was parked. Running her fingers over the car she wanted to know who drove this truck here. Moving the tarp back she saw that the truck had S.F.B.I painted on the side. It clicked in her brain that it was the same logo on those files she had found earlier. She needed to read whatever was in those files to see what they said.
"Strange truck isn't it," she asked looking over her shoulder.
"Just a truck some kids had, don't know what the logo means." the man said swiping the tarp back over the truck.
Nodding she went over to clay and sat in the car as he opened the door. The interior of the car was pretty nice, the leather interior smelled fresh and the car was slick smooth black and was a high model car.
"Do you like the car sweetheart?" he asked as he placed the keys in the ignition and started the car.
"Yes, it's beautiful." she repealed
"I'll buy you one then," he said while backing the car up and driving out of town.He placed his hand on her upper thigh and rubbed in slow circles. The night was beautiful, she rolled down the window and enjoyed the crisp air. Once they were about an hour away from the town he pulled over and they got out. Going to the trunk he pulled out a basket. Corania smiled now she knew why they were dressed up. Clay grabbed her hand entwining their fingers together. Opening the basket he pulled out a blanket and spread it out. Sitting down he continued to pull out more food than she could eat.
"Wow, this looks great. Thank you" she said as she ate a grape.
Clay poured her a glass of wine and handed it over to her. She took a small slip. They sat there and just talked and he told her about the things he saw in his lifetime mostly fun and adventurous things.
"So why do you stay in the desert if you can't go out into the sun," she asked
"Well, I just saw the potential that the location affords us. My kind don't age and having a location where you can just stay and never have people questioning you is perfect. Also as you can see we only get people who pass through. Trouble is less likely to show up when you are a tourist attraction. "
If I wanted to live somewhere else, would you do that for me?" she asked
" I would give you anything you wanted Corania, all you have to do is ask. This town will still be here if we ever chose to go back," he said. Corania leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on his lips. Pulling away just an inch as their breath mingled. Clay looked at her like she was the sun. And it finally dawned on her that she was. A part of her that had been only surrounded by this otherworldly man was elated. Something in her pulled towards him drawn to him and just wanted to give in. Because she knew that he could make her happy. But the other part of her who had a life before she met him outweighed it.
Clay brought his hand up and cupped her face and kissed her deeply. Corania brought her hands up and ran her fingers through his head and pulled him closer. His tongue playing against hers. Corania shifted her legs as her panties became wet. Pulling away she took a deep breath of air and placed her hand on his chest.Clay reached over and pulled her on his lap. She felt his hardness against her. But he didn't push her and just nuzzled into her neck. Reaching into the basket he pulled out her cellphone and handed it to her.
"Like I promised sweetheart. I'll always keep my promises to you. Call your mother and reassure her."
Corania quickly placed her thumb on the scanner of her iPhone and it opened. Her phone had full bars and she had over 50 missed calls from her mother and more text. Opening the phone she called her mother and after the first ring, her mother answered.
"Hello! Cora?" he mother frantic voice calledCorania felt a lump form in her throat. Clay rubbed her back.
"Yeah mom, it's me..." she said her voice clear
"Baby where are you? Why haven't you answered my calls? It's been a month! I'm coming to get you." she yelled with clear frustration present in her voice.
"Mom, mom you have to calm down, we're in a small town there wasn't any signal. I've been having so much fun and I was irresponsible. Ma I'm sorry for worrying you." she explained
"..." her mother took a deep breath.
" I know you're grown now but I am still your mother and you can at least send a text." her mother sounded tired.
"I sorry mom, really," she said again, what else could she say.
"I know, you're young and enjoying yourself, you deserve it, honey. I'm glad you all are having a wonderful time. I'm glad you called me baby."
For the next thirty minutes, they talked and Corania made up lies to cover up for her being absent.
"Okay Cora, you better call me at least every two weeks and I'm glad you're going to spend your summer traveling. It's a good experience. I love you, baby."
"I love you too mommy," she said as her vision blurred.
"Okay bye baby." her mother said then hung up.
Corania clutched the phone to her chest and sobbed. Her heart was heavy. Clay didn't say anything and just held her tightly.
"I will fix this, I promise mate," Clay saidCorania didn't know how he planned to do so, but Corania now knew that she couldn't leave her mother. She would find away.
