Ch.17
Waking up she stretched her back until she heard the satisfying pop of her stiff joints. Looking towards the window she saw that it was still night time, she must have only been asleep for an hour. On The desk next to her was a note. Picking it up she read it.
Dear Beloved,
I wait down the stairs. I hope you are hungry.
Yours Truly, Clay
Her stomach gurgled loudly as she contemplated if she should even go downstairs and face him. She hadn't eaten in hours and she needed the strength if she planned to escape. But she feared what the cost of food would cost her? It was clear that he wanted her for more than a supply of blood. Corania was ashamed of how she reacted when he touched her. Covering her face as her cheeks burned.
That couldnt happen again, she couldnt forget that she needed to get the fuck out of here.
Standing up, she went to the bathroom and frowned that she was still only in his t-shirt. Cleaning her face she quickly braided her hair and looked through his stuff for some bottoms. Finding some basketball shorts she pulled them on and tied the string tight so they stayed on her hips.
Taking a deep breath, she opened the door and headed down the stairs. Her feet were only covered in socks. It smelled amazing, the smell of meat and potatoes hit her nose.she stopped once she saw him he was seated at the head of the table.
His eyes zeroed in on her as she stepped in. standing up he pulled out her chair. Slowly sitting down she kept her back rigid and shuddered when his hand slid along the nape of her neck. His touch was possessive. He was being really clingy with her.
Dipping her spoon into the bowl she brought the steaming stew to her lip and blew. Her stomach was in knots, she hadn't eaten all day and she was starved. Placing the spoon in her mouth she hummed her approval as the thick gravy and roasted potatoes touched her tongue. The food was really good. She kept eating, not even looking over at Clay.
"I'm glad you like the dinner. I haven't cooked for ages but it's nice to know that I haven't forgotten." He said while smiling her way. He didn't have any food in front of him, only a glass with wine inside.
"...yeah it's good, thank you Clay." she said while finishing off her meal.
Clay got a weird expression on his face when she said his name like she had just given him a present.
"I am very pleased that you are calling me by my name sweetheart. It makes me very happy."
Corania didn't say anything, she just nodded.
" How about we get to learn more about each other? I want to know my mates likes and dislikes." Clay said while folding his hands in front of the other.
"There's nothing special about me." She replied that she didn't want him to know any information about her.
"Ahh, I don't believe that at all love, you're very special. Your dear friend Alice says you have a great deal of talents and hobbies."
Corania frowned at the mention of Alice's name. It made her feel queasy and she closed her eyes tightly to keep her dinner from coming up. Alice was scum and she didn't want to hear how she had told this stranger all her business.
"Don't be upset dear." he said while standing and making his way to the end of the table and standing to her left.
"You can tell me something no one knows about you. Isn't that fun?" he asked
Gripping her hands in her lap she tried to calm her breathing. She felt overwhelmed and suffocated. God did she want to go home.
"H..how about you go first since you already know so much about me?" She needed to get the attention off of her.
His hand ran up and down her arms, trying to comfort her she guessed.
"Alright dear anything for you." He said while pulling her chair out.
"Let's go somewhere more private." he said and grasped her hand leading her back in his room.
