I am FIVE! Thats how many fingers I have on one of my hands. Or should I say paws.
I was out running with my daddy and my two uncles. (Daddys brothers) we were looking for bad wolfs. Making sure that none passed into our land, (Territory) and if one did. My daddy was going to beat him up. Because he was a hero. Like Spiderman! Only daddy didn't wear a mask or have super powers. Just shifting into a wolf. And all the big strong powers that he gets as being Alpha.
We where dashing around our land, the trees passing by in a blur. I stuck my tongue out. I was super fast. I was so fast I could keep up with daddy. Just wait till mommy hears how fast I was!
Stop! My daddy shouted into my head. I slid to a complete stop, feeling small rocks that we're sticking up from the ground, cut my paws. It hurt but I was a big boy and big boys don't cry.
Even though my paws now had boo boos. I wanted to keep running, but I sadly had to listen to daddy. He was trying to keep me safe and that was one of the rules I had to follow if I wanted to run fast with him.
I leaped towards daddy's big black wolf and stopped right between his front legs. I was hiding under his belly as he stood tall and proud above me, scanning the area for danger.
This was another rule. If daddy thought something bad was going to happen. He would yell stop. And I had to get under him so he can protect me. And if I can't be with him I had to go to my uncle's wolf, but I like my daddy better.
He was big and strong like the Hulk. Only he wasn't green. He was black. Right now he was. Black and hairy. Or fury. He was the biggest wolf in the pack.
I hope I can be as big as daddy some day. I thought to myself.
Alpha, what's wrong? My uncle Mike asked daddy with his mind.
Uncle Mike was the third biggest wolf. Right after my mother. She was the Luna? Yeah Luna of the pack. She was also an Alpha so she was big to, not as big as daddy. And with Mommy being an Alpha she didn't have to listen to daddy if she didn't want to. And from how many times daddy spanks mommy butt, I know she doesn't listen a lot.
Look. Daddy said to us with his mind powers.
We where standing on top of a big hill, hidden behind some trees, but between the group of trees, was an opening. And through the opening you could see a big field of grass and sky. But also a house. It was a human house from the smell of it.
I looked up at my daddy's face and saw him scanning the house. And before he could see me, I used my super speed and watched the human farm. Moving my head this way and that to see around the big bush that was bigger than my whole body.
It was a big grey house made out of metal siding. And humans seemed to be picking up box's and taking them into their home from their truck.
It was hard to see from here what was inside the box's. I had to use my wolf sight in order to make out the humans.
There was a girl. Who looked as old as mommy with blond hair. A boy who looked as old as daddy when he was in human form with brown hair.
I then looked as I watched a girl. Who looked my age if I was in human form. She had blonde hair and was wearing a pink dress.
Ew. Cooties. I thought. Backing away from daddy's front paws. Nope. I'm not dying of cooties from her. But I stopped moving once she turned around. As if she could hear my thoughts. What if she can!? She looked towards our secret hiding spot. And I could just make out her eye color.
Blue.
Mate. Something inside me said. But what was a mate? I'll have to ask mommy.
Looks like the new human family is moving in. My uncle James said. What shall we do Alpha?
Leave them be. They have a child. And so far they aren't causing any harm to us. Just as long as we stay hidden. My daddy said.
But I didn't like the idea of that. I wanted to be friends with the girl. Even if she was a mind reading, cootie giver girl.
Come now. We must go. My daddy said.
But I didn't want to go. The girl was still looking at our spot. As if she could see me. And I knew I didn't want to leave her. And daddy couldn't make me!
So I ran. I ran to her. Wanting to be her friend.
Nathan! My daddy shouted into my head. Come back here now!
But for the first time. I didn't listen. I kept running through the field.
Nathan!
Nathan!
Stop!
My uncles tried to get me to come back. And my daddy tried to stop me. But no! I wanted to make a friend.
I was almost to the house. I could hear my daddy running behind me.
SON STOP NOW!
But I couldn't stop. I was so close.
And then. I was there. I jumped out of the tall grass, and ran to her. My tongue hanging out with a big smile on my face.
"Puppy!" She said as she ran towards me with her hands out as if to give me a big hug like mommy. Only mommy doesn't call me a puppy.
I'm a wolf! Don't you know your animals yet?
She was just a step away when I heard a loud growl from behind me.
Uh oh. It's daddy.
"Ahhhhh!" She screamed. She fell on her butt and started to cry. She still looked at daddy like she was scarred.
I toke a step towards her. Wanting to stop her from crying. Only to be stopped by teeth around my neck.
Let me go! I need go make her stop crying! I shouted as I looked and saw a brief glance of my uncle Mikes brown wolf holding onto me.
I looked over and saw my father growling at her.
No! Daddy your being mean! Stop scarring her! I felt my wolf snap his its teeth towards my father. Trying to scare him away from her. But it didn't work.
Be quiet! Your in big trouble. He growled. Only he wasn't facing me. He was facing her. His growl seeming to make her cry more.
I started to wiggle around trying to make Mike drop me. But he only bit down harder. Causing me to yelp.
"Jade!?" I looked towards the side of the house and saw the girl with blonde hair.
She looked at my daddy and screamed. Calling for someone named Ken. And a boy with the dark hair came running around to see what was happening.
He looked from the little girl to the big girl. He toke a step towards the little girl.
My girl! Something shouted. I growled as he toke another step towards her. She was still crying.
Alpha. He is trying to get to his child. We should leave. Mike said
No! I couldn't leave her. Even if she had cooties. I didn't care.
My daddy still growled at the big boy. Causing the human big boy to look scarred and mad.
Let's go. My daddy's voice said.
Mike handed me back to my daddy. Who carried me all the way home.
No matter how many times I said I want to run. My daddy wouldn't let me.
I knew I was in trouble. But I wasn't thinking about that. I thought about the crying girl.
And 5 years later, I still do.
I was now ten. So was Jade. That's my Mates name. My mom and dad decided to tell me what a mate was once I asked them when I was five. After someone said it in my head (which I later found out was my wolf) when I was five.
But no one knew she was my mate. For she was human. And it was very rare for a werewolf to have a human mate. Let alone an Alpha. But I watched her every year as she grew up.
Well, every Summer. Apparently, this was their summer home. And she only came up her for the Summer. Then left to go where ever it was she lived when she wasn't here. Those where the hardest days.
Well, everyday was a hard day because I knew she was right there. But I couldn't be with her. My father would be very disappointed in me if my mate was a human. He would probably try and kill her. But I couldn't stay away from her.
I did during the day as much as I could. I would sit on a rock during the Summer time when she was here and watch as she would race her four wheeler down the grass path that was made for her by her father.
I wanted to make sure she was safe. Then at night. When my parents thought I was sleeping in my bed. I would shift into my wolf, then sneak out of our house and run to her. I would lay down below her window to her room and protect her from outside threats. I started to do this when I was 8. And since then I would do this every night.
But once the sky started changing colors, proving dawn was approaching. I would force myself to go home. And a couple times my mom or dad would catch me coming in and ask why I was just walking through the door.
I'd usually lie and say I went for a run. And thanks to my dad and his moto about an Alpha being up before his pack thing. I always got by with it, along with my father being proud.
Only problem is. I sleep the rest of the day. Or try to. But then I think about her. I would listen closely, just wanting to make sure she was safe. And most of the time, I hear her four wheeler racing down the paths. Then I'm up and at it again.
(Sigh)
Welcome to my life.
She doesn't even know me. Yet she already controls me. Just wait till we're married.
A smile makes its way across my face. Married? I like that.
