SOME TIME ON THEIR OWN

It was an hour after dinner, Annie came to take Shadow and Mephiles and bring them to see Sonic and Silver once again. The younger Cross Hedgehogs welcomed them lovingly and made them ignore their caretaker entirely. It didn't bother Annie though, she was just happy that she's able to keep her hedgehogs in a good mood. She then left to give some privacy for the couples.

Without wasting time, Sonic dragged Shadow into his room and closed the door. Silver wanted to spend some time at the living room but he knew he'd heard Sonic if he stayed there, so he decided to take Mephiles to his room too.

Sonic sat on the bed while Shadow sat on the floor. The blue hedgehog couldn't stop talking about how much he missed him even if it had only been a few hours. His tail couldn't stop wagging and if it was possible he would have pink hearts floating above his head at that moment.

"Shadow, don't you wanna sit beside me?"

"But I'll take up a lot of space like before." The older hedgehog replied.

"Oh that's alright, just sit with me!" Sonic got up, pulled on Shadow's wrist and made him sit next to him on the bed.

The smaller hedgehog smiled at him and rubbed his forehead against the taller hedgehog. That, however, surprised Shadow. Cross Hedgehogs only do that when they're so attached and in love with each other. He returned the kind gesture and leaned down a bit to rub his forehead on Sonic's muzzle.

"I think you can tell that I'm really really in love with you." The blue hedgehog giggled.

"You're easy to read, Sonic. It's adorable." The other smiled softly.

Sonic blushed and he smiled, he suddenly moved himself and sit on top of Shadow's lap. His legs rested on each sides and he wrapped his arms around Shadow's neck, hugging him tightly.

"Is everything okay?" Shadow asked as he returned the hug. He froze in shock when he felt Sonic licking his muzzle because that could only mean one thing, an invitation to mate.

Sonic pulled himself away and smiled at his partner who was still surprised.

"Can I...can I really...?"

"You seriously need more approval than a lick to the muzzle?" The blue hedgehog chuckled.

"Well you were the one who told me to wait earlier today, of course I need more assurance." The red-streaked hedgehog complained.

"Will this help?"

Sonic leaned forward and gave a small kiss on Shadow's lips. He pulled himself back and chuckled at seeing the taller hedgehog's blushing muzzles.

"Alright..." Shadow smiled and licked Sonic's muzzle, a sign that he accepted the invite to mate. "Lay on the bed for me."

"Hehe, okay."

Sonic got off from Shadow's lap and laid himself down on the bed. The taller hedgehog climbed on top of the smaller one, giving small kisses on the blue hedgehog's muzzle while slowly pressing himself down.

Shadow held both of Sonic's hands and he pinned them down on each side. He continued to give him kisses before slowly moving his hips.

"Ah...this feels great." Sonic giggled quietly.

"I'm happy to hear that." Shadow smiled.

After a few seconds of doing the same treatment, Shadow pulled his body up and hold Sonic by his body. He flipped him over and caused him to gasp in surprise.

The smaller hedgehog yelped when he felt his mate pressing his body from behind. Shadow used his right hand to pin Sonic's right hand to the bed while his other hand hold Sonic's chin up.

"Comfortable?" Shadow whispered.

"Yes..." Sonic replied with a moan, but he smiled.

"Good." The other smirked, "I'm going to breed you now, my pretty hedgehog."

Sonic folded his ears down and he blushed madly, if his tail was free he would have wagged it rapidly in excitement. He couldn't stop smiling as he knew he was about to get busy that night.

Meanwhile, Silver and Mephiles were just chatting in the room. The albino hedgehog already forgot about the fact that his friend was being bred by his own mate. The only thing available in his mind was how much he enjoyed the company from Mephiles.

They were sitting on the floor, Silver would gradually scoot himself closer to the taller hedgehog in the room.

"Hey I was wondering, why are you wearing that mask?" The younger one asked.

"Oh...before I was rescued I have this huge scar on my mouth from a fight with other animal. So my mouth is actually kinda...creepy-looking. That's why I cover it up with this mask." Mephiles explained.

"Creepy-looking? Is it really that bad?" Silver tilted his head with a sad expression.

"Yeah I'm not really happy with how I look..." He said, but he noticed that Silver kept staring at his covered muzzle. "Uh...do you want to see? Since you look very curious."

"Is that okay?"

"Of course." Mephiles said and he proceeded to take his mask off. It revealed the mouth which was a bit large because of the cut on each sides. It also showed how pale his skin was.

Silver stared at him but he wasn't scared or disgusted by it, he smiled and brushed the other's muzzle gently.

"You don't look that bad, Mephiles."

It made the older hedgehog perked his ears up and he blushed. His tail wagged and he couldn't help but to smile.

"Thank you..."

Silver then suddenly hugged his mate, rubbing his forehead lovingly against the other's muzzle.

"You're welcome." He replied.

They stayed in the position for a minute before Silver pulled himself back. Mephiles picked his mask back up but he was hesitant to put it on. He looked at Silver who stared confusingly at him.

"What's wrong?"

"I'd still like to keep my mask on...if that's okay with you?" Mephiles asked.

"If you feel comfortable that way, I don't mind." Silver smiled and nodded his head.

The older hedgehog sighed in relieve. He put his mask back on and covered up his muzzle once again. He was just still not used to having it off.

"By the way...do you think Annie should have taken me back to my room by now?" Mephiles questioned after looking at the clock.

Just then Silver realized that Annie probably didn't show up because she expected that both him and Sonic are supposed to be mating. At that moment, he thought that Sonic was probably still mating in his room by now.

"I don't know...maybe she forgot?" Silver said.

"I guess I should get Shadow and-"

"Wait!" The albino hedgehog held the grey-streaked hedgehog by the arm, not letting him got up from where he sat down. "M- Maybe I should tell you..." he sighed.

Mephiles sat down as to not cause any harm to the smaller hedgehog if he forced himself to stand.

"What is it?" Mephiles raised his brow.

"Sonic told me at lunch today that he wants to mate with Shadow tonight...so..." Silver trailed off and looked away, "they're probably mating right now and that's probably the reason why Annie doesn't show up." He explained shyly.

"A- Oh...well...good for them, I guess." Mephiles mumbled, "but how would you know that that's the reason why Annie doesn't come here? Did Sonic told her?" He asked.

"Sonic only told me about it and...I'm not sure how but Annie can somehow knew. Otherwise, she would have come and picked you guys up." Silver stated.

"Looks like I'm sleeping here tonight. Oh it's going to be weird, I usually never sleep separately from Shadow." The older hedgehog sighed.

That also made the younger hedgehog realize that he'll be sleeping with his mate that night. Although they're not mating, it still made him nervous.

Meanwhile at the third floor of the building. Annie was sipping her warm cup of tea while watching the health monitor for both of her hedgehogs in her office.

Sonic's heart rate was increased while Silver's was still at a normal rate. Just from that she knew Sonic was busy mating while Silver wasn't.

"Oh, I really thought they'd mate at the same time." She sighed. "I guess Silver will be a little late..." she said to herself.
