THEIR PRIVATE CONVERSATION

Sonic sat down on the bed, but he didn't realize how intimidated he felt when Shadow sat not too far from him. The feeling of having a larger male in the room made him feel new things that he somehow like and dislike. He suddenly stood up, startling the red-streaked hedgehog and he went to sit on the floor instead.

Shadow was confused he stood up from the bed and sit down on the oppoaite side of Sonic on the floor.

"I just feel better at the floor." He chuckled nervously.

"Okay, I'll just keep note of whatever you like." Shadow said.

"So...Shadow, what do you think of me when you first saw me? I'm curious." The blue hedgehog smiled.

"Oh, well I wasn't expecting you to be this expressive honestly." The other answered and made Sonic laugh. "You looked very quiet before, are you always like this?"

"When I feel comforfable around someone I will not stop shutting my mouth."

"That means you get comfy with me fast." Shadow chuckled.

"Yeah, you're so attractive and look like the type to do whatever I say." Sonic smirked.

"You think I'll listen to you that easily?" Shadow smirked back and it hit Sonic in the heart.

For years he was living with Silver who was more timid than him and Annie who would always fulfill his demands, he wasn't used to having someone else to talk back at him. The smirk only damaged him more.

"Y-Yeah definitely! You should do what I say or I'll scratch your big body."

"Do that and I'll scratch your pretty face."

Sonic hide his face with his hands, he turned himself away and started blushing and squealing. At that point that was just them flirting at each other but they didn't know.

"Gosh you're a meany!" Sonic whined and made the other chuckle.

"Am I?" Shadow kept smirking. "You know what? Your personality is actually pretty funny, I like it."

"You can't say that! Don't say that!" Sonic complained and punched his arm, but then he paused to grab it. "Wow your muscles are hard." He said casually.

"Thank you, I'm glad you like them." Shadow smiled.

"Wait how can you even build muscles like this? Compare it to my arm, gosh I look so lanky."

"That's because I'm on the Dominant side of the species, Sonic, you're not."

"What?! Hey I'm dominant too! You think I'm not as strong as you?!" Sonic stood up.

"Well yeah obviously." Shadow chuckled, "sit down, you can't tackle me with that lanky arms."

"Watch me!" He said and tried to tackle the taller hedgehog, but he didn't even budge.

"Sonic-"

"No! Shut up!"

"Son-"

"SH!"

Shadow kept sitting there, watching Sonic struggle and grunting as he tried his hardest to tackle him down. Shadow grabbed Sonic by his arms and pushed him away.

"Stop, you're just going to hurt yourself."

Sonic blushed then narrowed his eyes , "ooh you're really strong~ I'm getting to know your best qualities one by one."

"As a non-Dominant, you're quite charming as well." Shadow smirked teasingly and pulled his hands back. "Sit down, stop trying to tackle me."

"Whatever you say big meany." Sonic chuckled and sat down.

"This big meany is about to be your mate so shut up." Shadow suddenly said and made him blush again.

"Stop taunting me!" Sonic whined.

"You started it." Shadow snickered.

Meanwhile, on the other room. Silver was still tucked under his blanket. Mephiles just sat on the floor, waiting for the other to 'wake up'.

His ears perked when he saw Silver squirmed, the albino hedgehog pushed his blanket off and he sat up. He noticed Mephiles in the room and blushed a little.

"Sorry...I just had a small headache."

"That's okay, just keep resting if you need to." Mephiles said.

"I can't, that'd be rude." Silver mumbled and put his legs down on the side of the bed. "Do you want to sit here?" He pat the spot next to him.

"No, that's okay." The other said with a covered smile, but the respond made Silver drop his ears.

"Why? You don't like me?"

"No- I just thought you'd need as much space as possible in your bed incase you have a headache again." Mephiles calmly explained.

Silver sighed, "it's hard when you always get new illness every day, last time I had a nosebleed and now a painful headache." He complained. "I can't even get you to sit next to me."

"Hey, don't be so hard on yourself. Take all the rest you need." The older hedgehog advised. "Me giving you space doesn't mean I'm avoiding you, I'm just giving you more room to relax on your own."

"I don't want that, sit here." The younger hedgehog pouted and pat the spot next to him again.

Mephiles blinked in surprise, he never knew Silver could be so demanding like that. He got up from his spot and finally sat beside the smaller hedgehog. Instead of feeling okay about it, like how Sonic usually sit with him, he was actually intimidated by the large presence. He blushed and tilted his head up to stare at the taller one's face.

"Is everything okay?" Mephiles stared back and asked worryingly.

"You're really big." Silver said without even thinking.

"Oh, thank you?" The other said confusingly. They way Silver said it was a bit odd, but he somehow liked it because that means his appearance was approved by the non-dominant he wanted to bred.

Dominant Cross Hedgehogs typically prides themselves of how much bigger and taller they look to the non-Dominant. Some also showed off their their larger horns and claws. That's why Shadow and Mephiles took it proudly when the smaller Cross Hedgehogs compliment their appearance.

"Anyway...since Sonic said you like me, may I ask why? I just really want to know." Mephiles asked.

"First, I live the rest of my life with Sonic, who never shuts up about anything and my voice can't even beat him." Silver explained, "and seeing Shadow doing most of the talking when you two arrived, I figured you were more of the quiet type...I mean like, just not as chatty as Sonic."

"Aww you want someone to listen to your voice? Because I gladly can do that." Mephiles smiled.

"Y-Yeah..." Silver mumbled while holding his two long quills like a pillow, "I just don't think I'll be able to speak up around Shadow and Sonic..."

"Well, you can speak up with me. Your voice sounds really cute."

Silver began to blush. "T-thank you. Your voice is very whispery, it's nice." He smiled.

"Thank you." Mephiles smiled.

Sonic and Silver have kept their mates in their room for almost three hours, but then they had to stop because it was time for Annie to come over and give them their meals.

The caretaker opened the door and saw her two hedgehogs still talking with their new mates in the living room. She took the tray off the the small food trolley and went inside to place it on the counter.

"Shadow, Mephiles, come down to your room. It's lunch time for you guys too." She called.

"Wait! When can they come to our room again?" Sonic asked while clinging himself on Shadow's arm.

"They can only visit you twice a day, so the next time is tonight after dinner and then they will return to their room again to rest." Annie replied with a smile.

"Oh okay then...I guess I'll see you tonight, Shadow." Sonic said while purring.

"Yeah, I'll see you then." Shadow smiled.

Mephiles held Silver's hand and they both smiled at each other, meaning that they were happy to see each other again later.

The twins followed Annie out of the room to get into the elevator, they head to their own room to get their meal and some rest.
