CHOOSING A MATE

Shadow and Mephiles sat on the dining chair while Sonic retreated to his room with Silver. They told the twin to wait for a moment while they were 'discussing important stuff'.

Sonic sat on the bed while Silver sat on the floor, they both stared at each other both in question as to how they're supposed to approach the two other males in their living room. They really didn't think they'd get that far.

"Okay we got our mates...now what?" Silver asked and finally broke the awkward silence.

"Well...um...first of all I have to admit that they look hot." Sonic said bluntly, "second of all, how are they so tall? And lastly, what do we do with them?"

Silver tilted his head, "what do we do? We mate, obviously."

"Yeah but like...now?"

"I don't know?"

"Should we choose?" Sonic questioned.

"I guess so, but don't you think we should talk to them first to know them better? I don't wanna blindly choose..." Silver mumbled.

"Yeah maybe we should." Sonic smiled.

Meanwhile, when the two younger hedgehogs were still talking in the room, the two older hedgehogs were also discussing about the mating.

"I never expected to actually meet more of our species in this weird place..." Shadow said.

"Yeah...honestly it's like they're trapping them here." Mephiles said.

"I'm not gonna lie, the blue one looks really cute. Maybe if they hadn't captured him we would have been mates the whole time." Shadow admitted as he leaned forward to the table.

"Oh, picking a favorite already?" His twin chuckled.

"Well they need us here to breed them, so might as well." The other shrugged. "What about you?"

"Since you like the blue one, I think I'll take the albino one." Mephiles said.

"Oh? No special reason or something?" Shadow asked.

"Uh...I'm not sure, I couldn't take a good look at him because they both ran to their room quickly after Annie left." He sighed.

The twins' ears perked when they heard the bedroom door open. Sonic walked out while holding Silver's hand who was clearly still nervous to meet them.

"Sorry for the wait!" Sonic smiled and approached them.

Shadow and Mephiles stood up from their seats, they were always taught to do that when welcoming a guest. Though, when they did that it only intimidated the other two since they were both taller than them.

"Um, why don't we all sit on the floor together?" The blue hedgehog suggested nervously.

Sonic and Silver sat next to each other, Shadow and Mephiles sat on the opposite side.

"So...I have to get this out first, I did not think Annie would find more Cross Hedgehogs." Sonic said.

"And we always thought we were the last two too until your owner arrived and break the news to us." Shadow replied.

"She said you guys came from Mavani Village, where is that and how does it look like?" Silver asked curiously.

"It's a very far place from here and we don't have this giant building...we live in a small house with our owner, Maria." Mephiles answered.

"We can also go outside whenever we want." Shadow paused when he saw the collars around Sonic and Silver's necks. "And we also don't wear...that." He pointed at it.

"Oh, this? Annie said this is to keep track over our health! I also find it cute, just look at the bell." Sonic giggled, he jiggled the bell as it made a sound.

"Lucky you're not the fluff type, I still feel a bit weird wearing this." Silver complained, tugging the collar away from his thick chest fur.

"But we still get to have something in return for the collars, we get dessert every after dinner." The blue one snickered.

Shadow didn't notice but he actually liked the more expressive side of Sonic, he found it cute that he smiled like that.

"So you're actually enjoying your time while you're here?" The red streaked hedgehog asked.

"Yeah! We get everything we want!"

"And this time she got us you two..." Silver mumbled.

"That's right! We wanted a m- uhhh...yeah- we- we wanted a mate." Sonic stuttered a bit but he kept smiling.

"How old are you guys anyway?" The albino asked.

"We're twins, so we're both 21." Mephiles answered.

"Oohh...a little older, huh? That's...kinda cool." Sonic wagged his long tail. "I also noticed how much bigger your horns are compared to ours." He pointed.

"Yeah it's always been like this." Shadow shrugged.

"Silver, I don't know about you, but it looks VERY attractive on them." The blue hedgehog giggled. "It just suits you very well."

"You know what, I'm not sure why but you're right." The other said, he also started wagging his tail.

"Aww well thank you." Shadow smiled softly.

Sonic blushed and he hide his face by burying it on Silver's shoulder.

"No! Your smile is also attractive!" He whined.

"Don't worry, I'm used to this." Silver stated to the worried twins.

"I don't think you should be." Mephiles said.

Sonic pulled himself away from his friend and puffed his chest to calm himself. "I keep forgetting that you guys are supposed to mate with us." He said blankly.

"Sonic, don't remind me!" Silver whined and lightly slap his arm.

"We're told to do what you guys want. So..." Mephiles trailed off.

"Do you guys want to mate now?" Shadow asked bluntly and made the two younger hedgehoga turn red.

"No, I'm not ready yet!" Silver complained.

"Slow down, Shadow. We just met!" Sonic whined.

Shadow and Mephiles looked at each other again confusingly.

"Uh...sorry." He apologized.

"You know what? I have an idea." Sonic smugged and stood up. "Let's have a private talk first! Since Silver said he likes you, you can go with him and you can go with me." He pointed at the two.

Silver covered his face and he laid on his side on the floor. He didn't think Sonic was going to be that blunt about it.

"Come on, Shadow. Let's talk in my room." Sonic smiled and took Shadow's hand, making him stand from the floor. "Mephiles, you can take him to his room. He won't be talking for a while when he's like that so just wait for a minute." He chuckled.

"Ah- okay." Mephiles stood up and carried Silver up from the floor.

Sonic dragged Shadow into his room while Mephiles took Silver to his room.
